“I’m here for a performance review,” Helena murmured.
Casey’s brow twitched, a miniscule movement that Helena only caught because she’d been waiting for it. She looked so pretty when she was confused.
“But it’s the middle of the quarter.”
“I’ll be the first to admit that it’s a bit… unorthodox,” Helena assured her, really savouring that last word in hopes that Casey might repeat it later, “but this is a necessary evil, I’m afraid.”
