    Mike hates churches.

    It definitely doesn’t have anything to do with the fact he’s been forced to go to mass since he was old enough to understand what was going on, which resulted in growing a natural distaste for it. It also doesn’t have anything to do with the fact Mike doesn’t really believe in all that stuff. It absolutely does not have anything to do with the fact he’s been a sinner for as long as he can remember, because he’s in love with a boy, his best friend no less.

    So, when Mike and Will were sent on a mission alone to go investigate the church where Mike had spent countless Sunday mornings, brooding and cursing whatever higher power would hear him, he wasn't exactly elated.
