Chapter Text
There were quite a few things Jimin disliked. Cleaning duty was one of them.
This fact was aggravated by one little detail: his partner had left him alone. Only Jimin to clean this annoyingly large classroom. He figured it was better to get started.
And damn it, this was being a terrible birthday.
He didn’t turn on the lights. Seemed to fit his mood better: alone in a dark room on his birthday.
Although, if there was one thing Jimin did like, it was company.
As a piece of Taehyung’s head appeared on the door, he sighed in relief. The cleaning would take nearly an hour alone, and this whole situation frustrated him.
It was good to have a best friend to wait for him.
“Kookie left you alone, did he?” Tae said, making his way in.
“Yes. Tell him he shouldn’t leave other people alone on cleaning duty.”
“Me? Tell him yourself”
“He’ll listen to you. The guy almost drools every time you talk to him.”
“Does he”
Taehyung was sitting in a desk as Jimin wiped the floor next to him. He turned his head back at the door, and then stared at Jimin with a grin.
“Do you?” He said.
Jimin almost dropped the broom, but that was before remembering it was Taehyung. He did say some nonsense like that all the time, though something on his tone had made Jimin startled for a second.
“Hah, stop your drama, Jimin!”
Taehyung just smiled, laughing it off.
“You’ve been in a bad mood all day, Jiminnie. Is everything all right?”
“I’m fine”
Taehyung knew him better than that, and Jimin knew he couldn’t hide his moods for the sake of his life, but he didn’t have the mind to talk about it. Not in this dark and empty room that looked too much like Jimin right now.
“You’re lonely”
Jimin didn’t reply. Tae could look through him, no wonder they were the best of friends; there was no way to trick him with this cheap white lie because he certainly wouldn’t buy it. Jimin thought it was funny how people could sense other’s feeling’s; it was curious how people close to each other could anticipate someone’s mind, see the world with their eyes, know when something’s missing.
That’s why he loved company.
“It’s your birthday, Jiminnie. I don’t want you to be sad today”
It was weird how Tae’s voice became soft, almost a purr as he stood up from the desk, taking slow steps towards the older. It was so unlike him to move this way, provocative, as if he wanted something.
Jimin unconsciously stepped backwards until his back hit the wall.
It was probably just a joke from Taehyung, though one he was taking a bit further than usual. It had to be a joke, because if it wasn’t, Jimin wouldn’t really know how to react.
But the boy kept coming forward, not relieving his intense gaze for one second. Jimin’s brain wouldn’t allow him to think it was really happening. There was still a chance Tae was joking; he did love to play around and would always make his best friend a special target for it, but this right now felt different. Jimin was still trying to figure it out, but it was hard to understand. They did cuddle at times, in more than a few occasions had someone probably mistaken them for a couple, not that they minded it − skinship was normal for them, but Taehyung hugging him and walking towards him appealingly were quite different situations.
He stood in front of Jimin, who couldn’t retreat any more, eyes deep into each other. Only now he noticed how big his friend was, could have easily made Jimin trapped, but instead kept some distance, approaching slowly and reaching for the other’s face. It made Jimin’s heart race like crazy.
Tae’s finger countered his face, rested on his lower lip, he then moved himself closer.
Jimin didn’t know what to do as panic hit him. He could have pulled the other away, Taehyung would have stopped, but something prevented him from doing it. Accelerated heart, he couldn’t articulate any words-- his head wouldn’t come up with any.
And then his mind brought up Jeongguk. Kookie, a classmate and their friend two years younger, but as a prodigy child he had skipped a couple years at school. He should have been there today, helping to clean up the classroom, but for some reason or another, hadn’t shown up. Jimin hoped he wouldn’t come in late, because the boy looked at Taehyung as if he was the sun itself, and up until now, Jimin had been under the impression that Taehyung liked him back.
“But J-Jeongguk…”
“We’re not… a thing” He said melodramatically, as if it was the lines of a drama in which they were both acting.
Though Jimin had solid reasons to argue why what Tae had just said was not true, he just let it go; in the end, did nothing to stop his friend to come so close their breaths crossed.
Tae was so close Jimin was sure he could feel soft lips on his, though they weren’t really touching. Something lit in his chest, and the distance suddenly felt too big to take; a sudden urge for closeness appeared.
It was taking too long, Tae wouldn’t come near enough. Jimin did it instead.
The kiss started off shy, slowly getting comfortable.
Just as the want for more sparked in his mind, Taehyung took over the kiss. The rhythm intensified, as did Tae’s grip on the other. He pulled them closer, eliminating all possible space between their bodies; licked the corner of Jimin’s mouth and then slipped his tongue in.
Jimin left out a little moan as Tae’s hand found the skin under his shirt, caressing his abdomen with a light touch that made Jimin shiver, testing to see what his reaction would be. He then went for Jimin’s neck, kissing it furiously, still exploring the skin with one hand, while the other had a grip on his lower back.
Jimin inhaled Taehyung’s messy hair. The familiar scent that filled his lungs felt safe and comfortable, made the boy drunk on it. Jimin’s senses were dull from the sweet scent, from the kissing and licking and biting, until Taehyung bit hard and made Jimin jump.
“Ouch! What are you doing?”
Tae looked up with a childish grin before answering.
“Sorry. It’s part of your present” He said, looking back subtly at the door. The thought of someone passing by hadn’t even crossed Jimin’s mind in the last few minutes, but Tae was apparently lucid enough to check.
Jimin ran his hand on the bite. It was probably red, hurt a little, but he liked the ghost of Tae’s teeth on the skin.
“…It’s fine.”
Tae’s eyes sparked to the consent, dug his head again on Jimin. He bit and suck hard, probably would leave some black spots, but Jimin was too emerged to care about it. He moved to Jimin’s ear, soft bites made him hold his breath. Tae’s hand had slipped down from Jimin’s back, but only now had the older noticed. The younger’s knee was filling the space in between his legs, leading him to unconsciously move so his crotch brushed it. Jimin felt the fingers under his shirt started to go down.
“W- ah, n-no…” He mumbled.
Taehyung stopped.
“I won’t do anything you don’t want me to.”
“N-no, just… Just touching is… fine.” He said so low that if Taehyung had been a few centimeter farther he wouldn’t have listened.
“Alright”
And with a brusque move, Taehyung had already undone Jimin’s belt, slipped a hand inside.
Jimin was aware what was happening, couldn’t contain the moan that escaped his lips when Taehyung touched him, suddenly and wild. He didn’t anticipate the shot of pleasure through his spine, made his hips move in the rhythm of Tae’s hand. As it got faster, the noises Jimin tried to bite down started to come out, got Taehyung giggling; and if Jimin could, he would be angry with his friend, but his mind was too hazed and his mouth occupied screaming for more.
His voice was getting too loud, and though Taehyung didn’t seem to bother, Jimin was afraid someone would hear. He bit the side of Tae’s shoulder in the attempt to stop, but Tae’s hot breath on his ear was also a result of the new position.
“Tae, I’m…” He said, supporting his head on Tae’s shoulder, just above the place his teeth had been embed.
“It’s ok, you can come on my hand”
Taehyung’s deep, low voice had a stronger impact than Jimin could have imagined, thus he released his fluid almost immediately. His fingernails held down hard to Tae’s shirt, but now the pressure was being relieved as he mumbled Taehyung’s name under his breath.
They both slid down to sit on the hard floor, leaning on the wall. Taehyung tilted his head on Jimins shoulder—now, this was a familiar position, Jimin thought as he started to hear giggles coming from the other.
“What?”
“You were fast”
The mockering in his voice was appearent. Jimin looked at the boy laying on his shoulder: his friend, his best friend. It had never been complicated with Taehyung, he had never questioned what kind of relationship they had. Besides what had just happened, this feeling remained the same.
Jimin didn’t know what that meant. Did he like it? For sure he didn’t dislike it, if that said something. It was just that he would expect to feel awkward after someone he had known for years gave him a hand job. Somehow, with Taehyung, it wasn’t. It had felt familiar, natural even.
He looked at Taehyung. Malicious eyes were staring at him in the same childish way as always. In his shoulder, there was a mark of where he had been bitten, and Jimin was surprised that it was bleeding, he didn’t remark biting too hard, but Tae didn’t seem to mind. The superfluous gleam had also left his eyes, and now it was just Taehyung. Taehyungie, his best friend, sitting next to him in a once lonely room. Jimin giggled.
“Look, Yoong-”
He stopped. The room’s temperature dropped intensely.
Tae sat up. The childish expression had shifted abbruptly, replaced by anguish that was so explicit on his eyes. Jimin couldn’t talk, that syllable and a half that escaped him without permission had probably ruined everything.
“Were you thinking of him?” He said, looking ahead, trying to keep his voice cold “Well, he probably left you lonely for a while. Did I play his role well enough that you came so fast?”
“What? Tae, no. I wasn’t… I swear, I wasn’t thinking. About him, I mean, I don’t- I don’t know why I said that.”
Taehyung looked down again. It was horrible seeing him like that, all because of how Jimin’s brain deceited him. It wasn’t supposed to be like this, they were supposed to be hugging and cuddling and giggling, but instead they were sitting silently, feeling the tension all around them. Tae put up a blank expression, trying to hide any sign of a hurt but failing; it made Jimin’s heart go to up his throat, he didn’t know what to do, had the sudden urge to cry, though it would probably only make the situation worse. He made himself hold it down.
“Tae? It’s true, ok? Thank you for this birthday”
Jimin said as sweetly as he could, and it must have been thw right thing to say because Taehyung’s expression softened a bit. That meant maybe Tae would forgive him after some weeks of apologizing. He had to. They were best friends, and what happened now wouldn’t change that, the wrong words that betrayed him certainly wouldn’t. Nothing changed and Tae will have to forgive me, he told himself.
Yoongi actually hadn’t crossed his mind. Yoongi, the person that got him this lonely in the first place, the person that filled his mind for every breath and every heartbeat, the person that had been ignoring him for a whole week now hadn’t been close to his thoughts. Even today, on his goddamn birthday the other hadn’t bother to send one message.
Yoongi and him had been seeing each other for a while now, but lately, every call was to be returned later, every message was just a short reply, all their meetings were canceled for no reason. Jimin couldn’t take it anymore, he couldn’t take this slow drifting away. If Yoongi was tired of the young, silly and clingy Jimin, he better say so to his face.
Taehyung stood up and left.
After a few minutes sitting by himself, Jimin finally got up too. He got clean clothes from his locker, changed in the toilet and returned to the classroom—there was still cleaning to be done. He had ruined every chance of getting a little help from Taehyung with his last few words.
But just a little while after resuming his duty, he heard some steps coming towards his location. He hoped it was Tae back with a smile on his face, ready to forgive Jimin for the mess he had made.
Jimin’s life wasn’t that pretty, and Taehyung wasn’t someone that would come back to him this easily. He could still hope though.
The person that appeared in front of him was Jeongguk.
Panic took over. What if he had heard something? Seen something? Jimin knew how the boy was fond of Taehyung, and he didn’t want to be responsible for breaking the boy, especially because this episode didn’t mean what he would probably think.
He felt the need to explain himself to Jeongguk. Say that he was lonely and unhappy and that Tae was his best friend and didn’t want Jimin to be sad and it just happened. The thought of saying those words aloud made him mute.
“Hey, I had something come up. But you can go now, I’ll finish this up.” The boy faintly smiled.
Jimin agreed with a nod. He normally would have stayed and helped, but right now, he didn’t have the strength to. Couldn’t face the boy in front of him, and the other also didn’t seem to fancy the company at the moment.
Jeongguk didn’t look at Jimin.
Jimin’s desperate calls were loud. Not loud in a way the whole school would hear, but if someone was just outside the classroom, they certainly would.
It came to Jimin how odd Tae’s behavior had been in the beginning. All his movements calculated, talked in a way he never had with Jimin, purring softly, almost like he was on stage. It came to him how that all had felt rehearsed in the beginning.
Taehyung knew there was an audience.
Well, he did look back at the door, must have noticed someone was there. Jimin didn’t understand why Tae would let that happen.
But Jeongguk couldn’t get angry at Jimin, he hadn’t started anything. He had nothing to blame, only complied to his friend’s request. He was lonely and sad and it wasn’t his fault.
No, none of that was his fault. It was Taehyung who initiated the whole thing, it was him who came to Jimin, he wrote the roles and produced the play. The older had been a figurant in the middle of this, didn’t mean for it to happen, was just carried away. People could hardly blame him, he was right in this situation; whatever happened was beyond his control. He put aside the memory of that first kiss they shared, of who was the first one to close the distance. Locked away the scene somewhere in the back of his brain.
Jimin had already gathered his stuff and was ready to go home when a beep interrupted his thoughts. He got his phone from his pocket and read the screen.
New message from: Yoongi ♥
