“I’m back!” Joel said, his voice and footsteps getting louder as he approached them. “Well don’t you two look comfy?” He sounded happy and light and Jimmy was only a little envious. Grian’s head turned to face him and Jimmy heard Joel suck in a short, sharp breath.
The bed sank a bit as Joel joined them, almost immediately his hands were soothing across Jimmy’s back. He found himself melting at the touch, his curled and hunched position loosening slightly.
“What’s bad boys?” He asked, the absurdity of the question should’ve made Jimmy laugh. His lips did twitch into what was nearly a smile, a rather impressive feat if the previous forays into whatever this was was any indication.
