It has been about 2 years since the barrier was broken. Monster kind has been settling in nicely and there has been near zero conflicts. Alphys and Undyne got married within a couple months of being on the surface. Asgore definitely provided way too many flowers for the ceremony but the bouquet toss was quite eventful with the giant bundle of flowers. Undyne has been working as the cop of the small monster town, not much happens which is a good thing but it gets boring. Alphys has been working in a lab doing more research on soul stuff. They both got home around the same time each day, Alphys tended to be a little later though.
The lizard unlocked the front door to their tiny humble abode and was hit with a smell of smoke and something hearty cooking.
“Ah! There you are!” Undyne was smiling as the smoke detector started going off, she quickly waved her jacket around at the beeping machine to calm it down.
The two shared a quick kiss and sat down at the table. They asked each other about their days, talked about the new episode of an anime they were watching. but it eventually went silent. Undyne was pushing food around on her plate, looking like she was thinking about many things.
“So y’know how we have that extra room?”
“Y-yeah?”
“What if we used that for someone to live here.”
Alphys looked a little confused and raised an eyebrow at Undyne.
A sigh came from her, “There’s this case I’m working on. There’s this kid, her parents are not good at all. She seems like a really nice kid and I just wanted to see if we could give her a home, yknow? At least for a while, maybe.”
Alphys swore she was falling in love all over again with Undyne. It was so sweet of her to care and want to provide for this kid she barely knew. “I’d be okay with that. I’ll just have to move my figures and my plushies.”
“She might like the plushies, you never know!” The two laughed and got up to clean their plates.
Suzy sat in the backseat of a run down red subaru legacy. It had been freshly cleaned but she could tell this car has been through a lot. The seats were comfy though so she wasn’t complaining, not that she would. She was holding onto a very small backpack, in it were her belongings, which wasn’t much. She looked out the window and watched as the towering buildings slowly passed by, dreaming of crushing them as a giant monster. Undyne looked into her rearview mirror at her, “We live not too far out of the city, we can come back here anytime you want.” Suzy never took her eyes off the window but Undyne saw a small smile on the kid’s face.
“So, uhm, this is your room. I-I can move these plushies if you don’t want them here, in fact I’ll start moving them now, heh…” Alphys nervously picked up various plushies she had on display in the corner. Suzy walked over and excitedly picked up a red dragon plush. Alphys and Undyne watched as she joyfully inspected the plush, and made it fly around. Suzy noticed the staring and promptly dropped it on the ground and started to back away into the corner, slightly tensing up as if expecting something to hit her. Undyne immediately knew what was up and lowered herself down to Suzy’s height, “If you want that plush, you can have it, think of it as a welcome home gift!”
“Y-yeah! I have another one just like that, though it’s a bootleg … b-but you can have it, no worries!” Alphys picked up the plush and handed it to Suzy. She very hesitantly took the plush and stared down at it for a while. “Make yourself comfortable! We’ll be out in the kitchen making some dinner, come out whenever you want some!” Undyne and Alphys waved as they gently shut the bedroom door behind them. Suzy looked around the room. There was a cheesy poster on the wall of a white dog pointing with text that said “Who’s awesome? you’re awesome!”. The wall was faded in many spots, there must have been more posters, hopefully some cooler ones. There was a small wooden desk and a very comfortable looking chair pushed in under it. There was a toy box with some action figures with wild spiky hair and cool weapons, there were some robots too. Suzy opened the closet and was shocked by how big it was, she’s def going to make a fort in there someday. She noticed some new clothes hanging up as well. Eventually Suzy made her way to the bed. It was a typical twin sized bed. Laying on the bed were two blankets seemingly to choose from, a normal comforter and a soft, dark purple, crochet blanket. There was a gentle knock on the door, “Hey, dinner’s ready. Come out whenever you’re ready.” After the voice finished, Suzy noticed she could smell something warm and savory coming from the kitchen. She sat the dragon plushie on the bed and made her way out of the room.
“Here ya go, kid. Don’t worry, you can pick out the stuff you don’t like!” Undyne gave Suzy a big smile as she handed her a bowl of ramen. There were eggs, meat, and veggies in the bowl, all of which Suzy wouldn’t mind eating, food was food. She sat down at the table and went to town on the ramen. It was definitely way more than her daily intake of sodium but it was very good and warm. Undyne laughed and started eating from her own bowl. “Y-you’re supposed to use, uhm, these..” Alphys held up some utensils to hand to Suzy, but Undyne gently stopped her, “Let the kid go crazy, I think this is her first big meal in a while…” Alphys sat the utensils on the table and watched in slight horror as Suzy ate the ramen with her bare hands. After dinner, Alphys helped Suzy wash her hands as Undyne washed the dishes. They handed Suzy a pair of pajamas and showed her the bathroom to let her change. Suzy always wore a pair of jeans and an old striped shirt so she was very excited for the pjs, though a little hesitant at first. Suzy climbed into bed, holding onto the red dragon plush from earlier. Undyne and Alphys smiled from the doorway and turned the light off, “Goodnight, kid.” “G-goodnight, Suzy”. Right before the door shut, they heard a quiet voice. “Thank you.”
Suzy awoke to the sound of ear grating beeping. She jumped up out of bed, still holding onto the dragon plush, and ran out the door. She was met with Undyne frantically trying to whoosh away some smoke from the screaming alarm, “Sorry, kid! I got a little carried away!” Suzy looked to the stove and saw every burner with a pan on top. She smelt eggs, bacon, pancakes, and hash browns, all starting or currently burning. Undyne smacked the smoke alarm off the ceiling causing to come crashing down, splitting in two. The beeping didn’t exactly stop but it had gotten quieter. She spun around and quickly turned all the burners off and prepared some plates. Alphys came out of their bedroom rubbing her eyes, “What was that?”, Undyne hurriedly picked up the dead smoke alarm and threw it in the trash, “Nothing! Just made us breakfast!” She nervously smiled. Suzy laughed a little to herself and grabbed a plate. She began to wolf down her food once again until Alphys came over and handed her a fork. “You should probably use this, so you don’t burn your hands…” The kid grabbed the fork, clenching her fist around it and proceeded to stab the food. Not quite the proper form but it gets the job done. Alphys smiled and grabbed her plate of slightly charred food.
“I have the day off today so I was thinking we could hit the city!” Undyne smiled at Suzy, “I have to do some shopping, cough ” she looks over at the trash can, knowing the corpse of an innocent alarm is in there, “and we could buy you some new jeans, if you’d like!” Suzy stopped eating and looked up at Undyne, she shook her head which made Undyne frown slightly. “I’ll at least get you one new pair, your current ones are falling apart.” Suzy looked guilty and stared down at her food. She didn’t want them spending money on her, she already felt like a burden or an intrusion into their home, she didn’t want to be the same to their bank accounts. Undyne looked at Suzy, “Don’t worry, kid. We’re gonna take care of you.” Undyne stood up and ruffled Suzy’s hair a bit and took her plate.
Suzy put on one of the new pants that was already in the closet and threw on her old striped shirt. It felt, different though. And smelt different too? She had gotten used to the dusty worn out smell but now it smelled like lavender? She didn’t hate it. Undyne threw on her typical slightly ripped jeans, tank top, and black jacket and was spinning her keys on her finger. “You ready, kid?” Suzy nodded but Undyne stopped her as she tried to walk out the door, “Your shoes are untied, can’t have you tripping on the sidewalk.” Suzy sat down on the floor and tried to tie her shoes. Loop here, loop here, nope now there’s a knot. Okay, loop here, loop there, loop here? Ah, the strings fell apart. Suzy struggled for about a minute before Undyne got down on her knees, “Here, I’ll show you.” Undyne slowly and gently explained how to tie her shoes, “Now you do this shoe!” Suzy attempted to tie her left shoe and, success! Though it was pretty messy, her shoes were tied! “Good job, now let’s go!” Suzy smiled and ran to the car, excitedly waiting for Undyne to unlock it.
At the store, Suzy and Undyne were walking through the electronics section. “Maybe, we should get a movie to watch tonight? Pick one out!” [ What are 10 year olds even into nowadays? ]. Suzy studied every movie cover and finally pointed at one. It was a kaiju movie that Undyne and Alphys saw in theaters a couple months ago, she knew it was definitely too gorey and scary for a kid. “Uh, how about this one?” Undyne held up the latest Icee-e animated movie, Suzy huffed and pointed at the kaiju movie once again. Undyne sighed and grabbed it, though she was slightly proud of the kid.
Shopping went pretty normal. Undyne bought Suzy a new pair of jeans even though Suzy was practically begging her not to, but Undyne could tell she was happy with the new jeans. They got home just in time for dinner, leftover ramen yum. Undyne reluctantly put on the movie Suzy had picked out and was death gripping the remote so she could turn it off as soon as Suzy seemed scared. However, that never happened. Suzy’s eyes were glued to the screen and she was cheering for the killer kaiju. [ This kid is awesome! ] Undyne laughed and cheered alongside Suzy. As Suzy was getting ready for bed, she noticed something laying on the desk. She walked over and picked it up, it was her old jeans with a note taped to them.
I sewed some patches onto your jeans to cover the holes. It’s getting colder out and holes aren’t a good idea for us cold-blooded reptiles! I can take them back off if you want, heh.. Why did I write my nervous laugh??? Anyways, hope you like them -Alphys :)
Suzy unfolded the pants and inspected them, there were patches of different shades of jeans sewn onto the pants. They looked so… badass! Suzy took the note and taped it onto her wall, she has to thank Alphys in the morning. She fell asleep smiling.
It’s been about a month since Suzy started living with Alphys and Undyne. Soon, she was going to have to start going to school, which she did not look forward to. But Alphys and Undyne made it seem kind of fun. Today, Undyne was taking Suzy shopping for school supplies while Alphys was at work. They had to travel into the city a bit since the local grocery store already had gotten rid of school stuff in order to make space for Halloween decorations. “How about we get some donuts first, I heard Muffet has a bakery on this street.” Suzy nodded, though she had no idea who Muffet was, she was excited for donuts. Suzy followed slightly beside Undyne as they walked down the sidewalk. There was a nice autumn breeze blowing, Suzy watched the leaves dance in the wind, the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin spiced foods filled the air, along with… the smell of paint?? Suzy looked around and she saw Undyne’s head whip around to look down an alleyway. There was a hooded figure shaking a paint can getting ready to spray it on the side of a brick building, next to the figure seemed to be a kid around Suzy’s age holding more paint cans. “HEY, PUNK! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!” Undyne sprinted down the alleyway and Suzy tried to keep up. The kid yelped and dropped the paint cans, the hooded figure grabbed their hand and tried to run down the alley but alas, they forgot it was a dead end. The figure turned around as they gently pushed the kid behind them to protect them. Undyne reached the delinquent and confronted them, “You know you have to have permission to spray paint on these buildings!” Undyne crossed her arms and stared at the hooded person. Suzy caught up and looked at the kid hiding behind them. She was a small blonde deer monster, she was shaking and holding onto the figure’s legs. Her eyes were glued shut. The figure took off their hood and spoke, “Relaaax, I got permission, I’m actually being paid to paint a mural thing.”
“Alright, but consider this a warning. Hey, wait a second, aren’t you… Dess!?” Undyne smiled and uncrossed her arms.
“Yeah duh.” Dess laughed and put her hands into the pockets of her camo hoodie, she took a small step to the side, “Noelle’s here, too.” The little deer slightly opened her eyes and looked up at Undyne. “Elle, this is Undyne, remember? She always helped light up the tree and sing carols with us?” Noelle gave a small wave at Undyne, but she was still a little shaken up.
“So how’s things been for you two up here? You livin somewhere in the city?”
“Yeah, kinda. Though Noelle has to go back to school, so probably going to try and move closer to where the school is. But overall, doing pretty good.” Dess looked down and noticed Suzy standing next to Undyne. “Uh… who’s kid is that?”
“This is Suzy! She’s been living with me and Alphys for a while.” Undyne stepped closer to Dess to whisper, “We’re kinda a foster home for her right now. I worked her case, her parents weren’t good people.”
Dess stepped back and slowly nodded her head, “Gotcha.”
Undyne started to turn around, “Let me see this mural you were working on!”
Dess started panicking a bit, “Uh, wait. Uh, I sort of just write whatever at first and then I paint over it, it’s just for fun, hahaha…” She stopped speaking as soon as Undyne was face to face with the work in progress. The paint read ‘The Royal Guard Sucks’. Undyne turned to Dess, with a slightly annoyed and angered expression while Dess smiled nervously trying to act like she wasn’t the one who painted it.
While the two were bickering slightly, Suzy walked over to Noelle, who was trying to make herself seem so small that she was invisible. Suzy hadn’t really thought that far ahead, she just stood in front of Noelle for a while trying to think of something to say. Noelle was silently freaking out, she hasn’t really talked to anyone new ever since her and Dess moved to the city. “Wanna see a cool rock I saw over there?” Suzy pointed towards a small patch of grass under a tree that was on the sidewalk. Noelle gulped and nervously nodded. The two walked past Undyne who was still interrogating Dess a bit, and sat down in the patch of grass. “Look at this one, it sparkles when it’s in the sun!” Suzy excitedly showed Noelle an almost pitch black rock, but just like she said, when she held it up to the sun, it sparkled like it was covered in glitter and stars. Noelle stared in awe, and Suzy smiled. She picked up another rock and showed Noelle. This continued for a while until Undyne and Dess walked over to the two. “Sorry, Undyne. I guess we wouldn’t really be here if it weren’t for you… killing a bunch of children. ” Undyne heard but pretended she didn’t, she still felt guilt but she shouldn’t unpack that in front of a teenager and two kids. “Alright, Suzy, ready to go?” Suzy looked at Noelle then Undyne and frowned, “You’ll see her at school, right?” Dess nodded and helped Noelle up off the ground. “Wait, I want you to have this.” Suzy ran over and placed the sparkly black rock in Noelle’s hands, “Okay, byeeee!” She sprinted off following Undyne. Noelle clasped her hands on the rock and started walking alongside Dess. She had made a new friend on the surface.
It was the first day of school and Alphys and Undyne were going through a checklist of supplies for Suzy. This had been going on for a while because they kept going through the list over and over, double checking, triple checking, quadruple checking, “I have everything, can we please go now!?” Suzy did not think she’d ever be begging to get to school, but here she is. Both Alphys and Undyne took off work to take Suzy to school. As they were pulling up the school, Undyne tried giving advice but it failed, “Make sure you beat up the biggest kid in the room, that’ll show them who’s boss!” “Undyne, that’s for prison! Not school!! Just, uhm, t-talk about your interests with the others! That’s a good way to make f-friends!” Why can’t Suzy just beat people up to then become their friend? Surely that would work. She didn’t want to risk it though. When Suzy got out of the car, Undyne ruffled her hair and smiled, Alphys handed her the Mew Mew Kissy Cutie Limited Edition Lunchbox and gave her a pat on the shoulder. Suzy waved as she walked through the giant school doors and was greeted by Toriel. “Ah, welcome to school, child! Please follow me to your classroom.” Toriel smiled and reached out her hand, Suzy didn’t take it. Toriel didn’t mind and started walking, glancing back to make sure Suzy didn’t book it. There were 9 desks and a cubby shelf in the back of the room. “You can put your belongings in the back, and then pick out your own seat!” Toriel pointed towards the shelves, then smiled and waved before walking out of the classroom to greet the other kids.
Suzy looked around, there were only 3 other kids in the room currently. Up front near Toriel’s desk was a human with a blue and purple striped shirt doodling. Behind them was Monster Kid who was joyfully looking around the room. Then there was a deer girl sitting in the far left corner of the room, Suzy got a big goofy grin and ran over to the empty desk next to the girl. Suzy threw herself into the chair which caused Noelle to let out a small scream. Suzy stared at her, tail wagging excitedly, Noelle was fidgeting with her hands, she wasn’t sure what to do until she remembered something. “Oh! I wanted to give you something, to say thanks for the rock!” Noelle got up and dug through her backpack. She returned to her seat and sat a little gift box with a bow on Suzy’s desk. Suzy looked at Noelle, confused, then turned to open the box. Inside was a candy cane pencil and a chocolate bar. “I-if you don’t like chocolate, you don’t have to eat it! I thought that just a pencil might not be good enou-” CRUNCH. Noelle was interrupted by the very loud crinkling of the candy bar wrapper as Suzy shoved the whole thing in her mouth, “ThankS!” Noelle smiled at her.
The school day was pretty average. During recess, Suzy was observing some rocks, she tried eating a few but Toriel seemed to always know when she was about to and would come over to stop her. Eventually, Toriel sent the human kid over to play with Suzy, maybe in hopes that that would get her to stop trying to eat things off the ground. Without any words spoken, Suzy started stacking rocks on top of the human’s head, trying to see how high she could go. Eventually she was unable to reach the top to place more rocks. Both of them were very disappointed. “Uhm… could I help…?” A quiet timid voice spoke behind Suzy. She turned around and there was Noelle. “Yeah! Here hold these!” Suzy shoved a bunch of rocks into Noelle’s arms, and then proceeded to lift Noelle up onto her shoulders so she could place more rocks on the human’s head. This lasted for about 2 minutes before Toriel noticed and started to walk over. “Run!” Suzy put Noelle back on the ground and grabbed her hand as they both ran to hide behind a tree. The human started to run in an opposite direction, somehow keeping all the rocks balanced on their head, impressive. Noelle was slightly out of breath while Suzy threw herself on the ground trying to get any air at all, “You run fast!” Noelle giggled and sat down next to her. “Me and Dess used to play baseball with my dad, I had to learn to run pretty fast cause Dess was way too good at getting me out, faha”. The two chatted for a little bit longer under the tree until Toriel finally found them and it was time to go back in. School wasn’t so bad after all.

It’s been nearly 10 years since monsters returned to the surface. Alphys was working at the school and Undyne was the chief of the local police force. Suzy has been living with Alphys and Undyne for 8 years now, her room now covered in band and nature posters, the dog one still remains though it is slightly covered. There are notes from Alphys over the years and photos of Suzy and her friends taped onto the wall. Her favorite being one of her and Noelle at the festival from a couple years ago, they had just gotten off a pretty intense ride so Noelle’s makeup was messy. At some point, Undyne got Suzy a tv for her room, so she had a dvd collection of all sorts of cheesy ‘monster destroying a city’ movies. She also had a handful of pirated dvds of some anime shows her and Alphys watched together. One that was constantly in use was the anime with the red dragon, which Suzy still had the plush of. It sat neatly on her bed, well after she actually made her bed. Life has overall been really great for Suzy, she had a great family, super cool friends, and Noelle. [ Why’s Noelle separate, she’s a friend, she’s like my best friend, the bestest friend you could ask for. ] Suzy shook her head, can’t get stuck in thoughts, she has to get ready for school. It was a Tuesday in November, so the temperature was getting almost unbearable. Suzy threw on a t-shirt, then a hoodie, then a denim jacket, should be good. She grabbed her bag and walked out of her bedroom. Undyne was cooking breakfast and was just barely burning it, at least it’s not on fire… yet. “Hey, kid! Me and Alphys want to talk to you before you leave today.” Suzy gave her a thumbs up and grabbed an apple from the counter. She sat down at the table and started to tie her boots, it took her a while to tie the boots all the way up again so might as well get a head start. Alphys walked into the kitchen and gave Undyne a kiss on the cheek, Suzy jokingly stuck her tongue out pretending to be grossed out, Undyne tossed an apple at her, which she caught and took a bite out of, laughing. Breakfast still wasn’t done so Suzy decided to check her phone, a post from Noelle popped up on her feed. [ They’re using tumblr trust]. It was a selfie of Noelle at some kind of run down looking restaurant making the rocker hand gesture. Suzy swiped to the side and saw the rest of the photos, she was at a show of Dess’, but Suzy went back to the first photo and stared for a minute. Noelle had all sorts of necklaces and bracelets on, all of varying different colors. She was wearing dark clothes and had dark eye makeup on which made Suzy laugh a little, the darkness compared to her soft blonde hair and cute smile was funny. [ She’s so cool and so… beautifu-] Suzy’s thoughts were interrupted by Undyne jokingly dropping a plate of pancakes in front of her, “Earth to Suzy!” Undyne laughed and sat down across the table, Alphys joined her, and Suzy hurriedly turned her phone screen off and shoved it in her pocket. “So, uh… what did you guys want to talk to me about…?” Suzy started picking at the pancakes but didn’t start eating yet, she was too anxious. Undyne slid a paper across the table, Suzy gulped and looked down at the paper expecting it to say ‘Eviction Notice’ but instead it said… ‘Certificate of Adoption’. Suzy’s mouth dropped and she gently grabbed the paper, reading it over and over again. “W-we honestly should have done this years ago, but later is better than never, right? Haha…”
“Is… is this real…?” Suzy looked at the two across the table, tears starting to form her eyes a little.
“Of course it’s real! Even though you’re going to be moving out soon, we still wanted to do this. We care about you, Suzy. And you’ll always have a home here.” Undyne gave the girl a big smile, and Suzy started to cry. Undyne and Alphys got up and hugged her. “Damn, now I have to go to school like this.” Suzy laughed as she wiped her tears, “Thank you, guys. This… This means a lot.” Everyone sat back down and continued to eat their pancakes, Suzy noticed hers were shaped like dinosaurs.
Suzy left and started walking to the school, it wasn’t that far of a walk and plus she could pick up any cool rocks she found along the way. Maybe it’s because she spent all of her life living underground but she found nature on the surface to be so interesting. Every time the class would talk about biology or naturey science in general, Suzy was the most focusest she had ever been. That or when the class got assigned to read Lord of The Hammer. What an absolute flex it was to say that the author taught her caretaker how to fight, and also that she got to meet him. Suzy was about to put on her headphones and when she heard some clacking behind her, “Hey! Suzyyy!!” She turned around and saw Noelle running towards her, waving. Her outfit screamed christmas scene core, Suzy wondered how early she had to wake up just to get ready each day. “H-hey, Noelle!” Suzy felt her cheeks get warm, maybe it’s just because of the weather, there WAS a cold breeze blowing but it didn’t bother her earlier, just… now. Noelle did not slow down at all as she approached Suzy, instead she kinda just threw her arms around her, hugging her. Suzy was panicking slightly, she just hugged Alphys and Undyne, so why can’t she hug Noelle back? Why are her arms frozen in place? Suzy awkwardly reached her hand up and patted Noelle on the back, sbe then was released from the deer’s embrace and was desperately looking everywhere else but her, trying to hide her face. “Wanna walk together?” Noelle said with a smile. “Y-yeah! Sure! Yup!” Suzy swiftly turned around and begun walking once more.
It was quiet for a bit, Suzy still trying to recover her brain cells. “So, uh, do anything fun and crazy and loud last night?” Suzy said with a smirk, finally regaining a sliver of confidence.
“Oh, right! Yeah! I went to a show Dess and her band were playing. It was pretty cramped but I had front row seats,” she said as she winked at Suzy. Suzy let out a snort and looked away, face feeling warm again. “You should really come next time, I think you’d like it. Dess actually smashed her guitar at the end of the show… and the drums… and a light… fahaha” Noelle laughed nervously, her sister had to repay her bandmates so much money, but it was pretty cool…in the moment at least.
“Maybe I will. Those are pretty late at night though, right? I think Undyne would kick my ass if I tried to come in at 3am.” She knew that wouldn’t happen but she also did not want to risk it.
“Actually, she’s playing at Grillby’s Bar on Friday at around 9pm, her shows only last about an hour so we wouldn’t be out too late.”
“We?” Suzy smirked and leaned her head down slightly to look directly in Noelle’s eyes.
Noelle began to fumble over her words a bit, “I-I just thought, y’know, we would, uhm, we would go t-together. But if you don’t want to, that’s cool! I’ll just send you t-the address?”
Suzy laughed, “Relax, Jingles, I’d love to go with you.”
“A-awesome, it’s a date!”
The two froze for what felt like eternity. They both just stared at the other, faces beet red, both silently blaming the weather. Suzy coughed into her hand and started walking again, a little faster than before, “Just, uhm. Text me when you’re ready, I’ll pick you up.”
“O-okay!” Noelle tried to hide her big grin but was failing, she hurriedly caught up to Suzy. They did not speak for the rest of the walk, Suzy ignored every cool rock she saw, she just needed to get to school.
Suzy and Noelle walked into the classroom together. Alphys was the teacher for the upper classes and she had already beaten Suzy to the school. Alphys waved to the two girls, Noelle waved back as Suzy was smiled back at her adopted mother. Suzy ruffled Frisk’s hair as she walked past their desk and threw herself into her chair, nearly breaking it. Noelle sat next to her and got out her supplies.
“A-alright class, today we will be talking about the monster and human war. It’s important that we learn about our history so we don’t repeat our mistakes.” Alphys looked the most serious Suzy had ever seen her when she said that last part. She knew Alphys had done some things she regretted in the underground, but she never fully got the answers. Mostly cause she didn’t want to and Alphys didn’t want to talk about it. It seemed to just be something between her and Undyne and Suzy didn’t want to pry.
“We will be talking about many influential and noble monsters and humans, one being Gerson Boom.” Suzy quickly snapped up in her seat, eyes wide and wearing a shocked smile. Alphys noticed and smiled nervously at Suzy, they may have forgotten to tell her that about Gerson, well at least Suzy was focused now. Noelle looked over at Suzy, a little confused, “Didn’t you say before that Gerson taught Undyne how to fight?” Suzy whipped her head to look at Noelle, her tail was wagging like it usually does when she’s super excited, “Hell yeah, I guess gramps fought in the war too.” She turned her head back to the front of the room, a big smile was on her face and she was ready to start taking notes. Noelle let out a small sigh and noticed the pencil Suzy was holding, it was the same candy cane pencil, though now it was pretty short. Noelle smiled to herself and looked to the front of the room. [ I can’t believe she kept that after all these years.]
The rest of the school day went on as usual, though Suzy could not stop thinking about her conversation with Noelle that morning. [ ‘It’s a date!’ What did she mean by that? I know that’s just a phrase but did she… does she… is it a date-date??] “Suzy, are you okay?” She was snapped back to reality as she felt Noelle’s hand sit on top of hers. She yanked her hand away, though she secretly didn’t want to, “Yup! Never better! Uh, why’d you ask?”
“Well, usually you start stacking your lunch on Frisk’s head by now.” Oh right, it was indeed lunch time. Suzy looked over at Frisk’s barren head and placed her milk carton on their head. They smiled and continued eating their food.
Suzy scratched the back of her head with the hand Noelle once held, “Oh, I almost forgot to tell you guys. Undyne and Alphys gave me, uh, adoption papers this morning.”
“Oh my gosh, that’s amazing, Suzy!” Noelle grabbed Suzy’s other hand with both of hers, [ Dammit why can’t she keep her hands to herself!] Suzy’s face turned slightly red. “I’m so happy for you!” Noelle smiled, she was still holding onto her hand. Suzy wasn’t going to bring it up, but unfortunately Noelle realized and pulled her hands back, blushing slightly.
“I remember getting those two to finally date.” Frisk just casually drops, Suzy snapped her head, “WHAT.” The human told Suzy and Noelle the story, the three laughing together about the absurdity.
At the end of the day, Suzy met up with Alphys. “Hey, is it alright if I walk home today, I uh, got some things I want to pick up.”
“Y-yeah, that’s okay! Just make sure to be home by dinner, Mettaton’s coming over tonight.”
“Oh sweet, see ya later.” Suzy waved as Alphys drove off. She looked around looking for that blonde deer, no luck. Dess must have picked her up. Suzy put her hands in her pockets and started walking back home, stopping every once in a while to pick up a rock or a leaf. She eventually put on her headphones and put her playlist on shuffle. Immediately, the song that decided to taunt her was ‘Teenage Dirtbag’, Suzy’s face went red and she angrily pressed skip, panicking like she got caught selling drugs or something. But then after a while, she clicked back to listen to it, smiling on the way home.
Suzy could hear the sound of someone slamming on the keys and a very loud, though impressive, voice singing as she walked up to the house. She opened the door and saw Undyne nearly breaking the piano as Mettaton was singing a seemingly new song. Alphys was cheering and clapping along, slightly off beat. Suzy couldn’t help but laugh at the sight. “Ah! There you aaaarrreee!!!” Mettaton was still singing as he approached her. He hit a high note as he put his arm around her shoulder, nearly making her deaf. Suzy pushed him away, laughing still, “Geez, man, you’re gonna make me lose hearing!” Mettaton stood back and looked at her, “My! How you’ve grown, you were only this tall last time I saw you!” Mettaton moved his hand just barely above Suzy’s current height. Suzy smiled and rolled her eyes and walked over to her room, she tossed her bag onto her bed and started pulling out the loot she gathered on the way home. She added them to her shelf in the corner of her room and pressed the leaves in pages of her notebook. She stared at her notes from earlier for a moment, a very low quality drawing of Noelle stared at her from the pages, she didn’t even remember drawing that. [ Did… Did I seriously draw fucking hearts around her too!?] “Who’s that, dear?” Suzy slammed the notebook shut and turned around, “Get outta my room!” Her face was beet red and she aggressively pointed at her door, Mettaton put his hands up backing off and walked out, slightly smiling. Suzy huffed and took off her jacket, the cold can’t get her now.
Eventually, she walked out of the room and joined her family, it still felt a little weird saying it but it was true. They were beginning to get out a board game as Suzy got a plate of steak, it was in the shape of Mettaton’s box form… must’ve been from his hotel. It was slightly cold so she popped it in the microwave. She hesitated for a moment but then walked over to Alphys, “Hey, can I talk to you, alone… for uh a minute…?” Alphys was a little shocked by this, usually Suzy went to Undyne for any problems. Alphys didn’t mind, the two had a lot in common so it was understandable, plus Alphys wasn’t the best at giving advice, unless it was about what order to watch the Mew Mew series. “U-uh, y-yeah sure. Do you want to talk in your room?” Suzy nodded. Alphys got up and the two walked over.
Alphys sat at her desk and Suzy sat on her bed. “How… How do you know if you, uh, like somebody…” Alphys gulped, [ Oh god, I am the last person she should ask.] “U-uhm, in what way exactly?” She hoped this wouldn’t be about dating.
“In the way of uh, LIKE-liking someone, i guess…” Suzy started to fidget with her hands and was trying to avoid eye contact.
“W-well I, uhm, if you like spending time with t-the person and want to keep spending time with them?” Alphys sounded so unsure. “Isn’t that just friendship?” Suzy asked, looking puzzled.
“Y-yes! K-kind of? But more intense? Also, if you f-find them attractive, like thinking they are pretty or… uhm.” Alphys nervously looked around, “S-sorry, I’m not good with advice…”
“I could help!” Undyne was standing in the door way, hands on her hips. She was posed like a superhero which made Suzy laugh a little. “What’s the issue, kid?” Undyne leaned on the back of the chair Alphys was sitting in, which caused the yellow lizard to blush a little.
“How. How did you two know you, uh, liked each other?”
“Oh! Easy! I thought Alphys was pretty cute, and I don’t know, I felt a strong urge to want to protect her no matter what!” Undyne smiled and put her arms around Alphys, “I’d fight the whole world for her! She means a lot to me.” Suzy nodded and then laid down on her bed, staring up at the ceiling.
“You like someone, kid?” Undyne smiled.
“I… I think? Augh, I don’t know!” Suzy put her hands on her face and dragged them over her eyes.
“Is it that deer girl from your notes?”
“WERE YOU LISTENING???” Suzy shot up from her bed and saw Mettaton standing in the doorway. She so badly wanted to punch him but deep down she knew he wasn’t wrong.
Mettaton walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder, “Darling, I think you might need to take the ‘Am I Gay Quiz’”
“SHUT THE FUCK UP????” Suzy hated that she was laughing, she pushed him, not intending to cause harm, just to get him to shut up for once.
“I can teach you everything I know about dating!” Undyne said proudly.
“What like throw her into a trash can?” Suzy smirked.
Upon hearing that, Undyne and Alphys got up and ushered Mettaton out of the room. They were a little embarrassed by how weird their confession to each other was in hindsight.
Suzy laughed, and walked over to her notebook to retrieve the pressed leaves. Of course, she just happened to put a heart shaped one on the page with the drawing. She ripped the page out and shoved it into her jacket pocket, blushing as she did so. She heard the beeping of the microwave and walked back out to eat dinner and join in on the board game. Mettaton kept teasing her the whole night.
Noelle laid awake staring at her ceiling. [‘ Relax, Jingles, I’d love to go with you.’ ‘It’s a date!’ ‘Jingles’ The pencil. No it doesn’t mean anything important. But she has other ones, I know she does cause she likes to build towers with them… or at least try to. I saw her drawing something but she kept hiding it… ‘It’s a date!’ WHY’D I SAY THAT] She rolled over, screaming quietly into her pillow. Or at least she thought it was quiet.
“Yo, you uh, good?” Dess said on the other side of the door.
“No… I mean, yeah! Yup! I’m fine!”
Dess opened the door anyways, “What’s up?” She stood in the doorway, arms crossed. “I… I think I have a crush…”
“On Suzy?” Dess smirked.
“What!? How!? What!? No!?” Noelle lied.
“Dude, I follow your 2nd blog, plus you’re not that vague in your ‘vague crush posting’ on your main” She said that last part with air quotes.
“Do you think anyone else knows?” Noelle curled herself up on her bed.
“Maybe? But no one should care either way, but I definitely don’t think Suzy knows. I’m willing to bet money on that.” Dess laughed then stopped when she saw Noelle seemingly getting lost in her thoughts. She walked over and sat next to her on her bed. “I’m willing to bet she likes you back as well. You two barely know how to function around each other.” Noelle smiled a little but it soon faded.
“I just… don’t want to ruin… What if she doesn’t want to be friends with me anymore?” She looked like she was about to cry. Dess put her arm around her, Noelle laid her head on her shoulder.
“I think even if you killed someone, Suzy would still be your friend. You should definitely tell her, if not this will just eat you up inside. It’ll be hard to stay just friends when you want to kiss her.” Dess laughed as Noelle punched her, lightly, in the arm.
“I’ll tell her at your show… I mean I already kind of called it a date, on accident.” Dess’ eyes widened, she didn’t expect that.
“I’ll try to play something for you two.” Dess ruffled her hair and got up, “G’night, Elle.”
“Goodnight.” Noelle laid back down and stared at the ceiling for a brief moment, smiling. Finally she fell asleep.
Suzy awoke to kitchenware clattering, she had fallen asleep on the couch. “Sorry! I-I was trying to be careful!” Alphys put the toaster gently down on the counter. “Do you want any t-toast?”
Suzy sat up, her hair was a hot mess and her mouth was dry. “sure. Jelly please…” Alphys gave her a thumbs up and got the bread out. Suzy got up and went to take a shower. It kind of woke her up but her eyes were still half closed. She started to brush her teeth when a thought crossed her mind, [ reminds me of Noelle.] The thought made her stop dead in her tracks and she stood there looking at herself in the mirror. [ Toothpaste, really?] She looked down at the packaging. To be fair to herself, it was peppermint scented, which was what Noelle smelled like half of the time. She finished getting ready and went to the kitchen. Alphys had freshly made toast with some jelly on it, Suzy grabbed it and started walking out the door. “Uhm, Suzy…” the girl turned around, Alphys walked over to her, “How I knew… I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I-I wanted to wake up and see her face, I wanted to hear her laugh and see her smile, I w-wanted to just be there with her, forever.” Suzy blinked, she gave Alphys a quick hug, “Thanks, that, uh, helps a lot, actually.” Then she was out the door. Suzy was about halfway to the school, when she realized, she forgot her bag. By this point, Alphys was usually already at the school and Undyne had work today. [ Noelle or Frisk might share some paper with me.] She shrugged it off and kept walking. It was quiet today, Suzy put her hands in her pocket to shield them from the cold and she heard a crinkle. [Fuck.] The paper with the embarrassing drawing was haunting her in her pocket. At least, she had paper to write notes on. She carefully tore the drawing off of the page, and stuffed it in her chest pocket.
Suzy walked in and waved at Alphys. She gave a fist bump to Frisk as she walked by their desk and plopped into her chair. She looked over and saw Noelle, wearing a white turtleneck and dark red cardigan. Cute.
Suzy shook her head and leaned over to tap Noelle’s shoulder, “Hey, I forgot my bag at home, got a pencil?”
“Oh! Uh, yeah! Here.” Noelle handed her a pencil with little christmas trees all over it, “Heh, like the candy cane one more.” Noelle’s heart fluttered and she kept her eyes locked to the front of the classroom. Suzy dug in her pocket and pulled out the torn piece of paper. “What happened to your notebook?” Noelle asked her.
“I, uh, ate it.” Suzy said with a smirk, Noelle then tore out some pages of her notebook and handed them to her, “Thanks.” [ Jingles.] The word was fighting to come out but Suzy kept her mouth shut. It was a nickname she called Noelle to tease her, but she grew fond of it over the years. She rarely used it, she reserved it for whatever reason, maybe so it doesn’t lose its spark.
Suzy didn’t really focus that much on the teaching today, she was trying to not accidentally write a love letter to Noelle or draw a stupid heart with ‘S+N’ in it. She felt like she was being possessed by some gushy cheesy rom-com. [ She’s way out of my league. She’s way too cool, smart, and pretty to have someone like me in her life. I don’t know why she’s dealt with me all these years, is she stupid?] Suzy glanced over at Noelle, her tail gently wagging under her jacket.
The day went as usual, except Suzy had to start writing extremely small, cause she did not want to take more of Noelle’s precious paper. “Uh, here’s your pencil back.” Suzy was avoiding eye contact and was scratching the back of her head. “Oh, you can keep it, I have so many, faha..” Suzy’s face felt warm, [I want to hear her dorky laugh forever…] “Oh, uh, cool, thanks.” Alphys stood by the school entrance waiting for Suzy. “I-it’s raining today, so I’ll drive us home!” Suzy gave her a thumbs up, Noelle walked past and got into her own car. She noticed someone in the passenger seat, must be her sister.
Alphys and Suzy talked about the newest episode of an anime the two watched together. Eventually the car ride went silent, then Suzy spoke, “How am I supposed to even tell her?” She had her head leaning on her arm, looking out the window. “Heh, I-I don’t think I’m qualified for that. I just kind of…. Rambled until Undyne shut me up…” Suzy snorted and thought back to what Frisk told her. “Should. Should I get her something? Like, uh, flowers or something?” Alphys smiled, “Maybe, or you could get her something that has meaning too.” Suzy side glared her a bit, “Flowers have meaning…” Alphys panicked a little, “I-I just mean, maybe something that has meaning to the both of you!!”
Suzy started racking her brain for ideas. She was tapping her pencil against the desk, head leaning on her one hand. [Rocks? No, I did that when I was 10. Who wants rocks anyways besides me. Maybe a gemstone?? No, that’s still just a rock. Red roses? Red tulips? Carnations? Purple violets? GAH, NO! Then I’d have to explain their meanings and that’d be a thousand times more embarrassing.] She continued to think of something and then scratch it out, eventually she let out a loud groan and crumpled the paper up into a ball. She threw it as hard she could towards her bedroom door just as it was opening.
“Hey, kid, we’re about to- Ouch!” Undyne stood in the doorway, holding her head. Suzy stood up quickly and apologized.
“Nice throw! You should’ve played baseball, hah! We’re about to leave to go to Gerson’s, ya ready?”
If Suzy was in a cartoon there would’ve been a lightbulb above her head, “Uh, yeah, just let me grab some stuff first.”
“Alright, make a left here and taa-daa, home! Nice job, Elle.” Dess patted Noelle on the back. Her hands were slightly shaking. “Now you know how to get home, what? Three different ways? That’s some crazy progress after just starting to drive a month ago.” Noelle just gulped and shut the car off.
The sisters walked towards the small cabin they called home. It was right on the outskirts of town and also the city, perfectly in the middle. While also dead in the middle of the woods. After Rudy’s passing, Dess had to raise Noelle. It was somehow more difficult raising her in the Underground than it is on the surface. Maybe since there’s more hope and opportunities up here. Still, she missed when it was always winter in Snowdin. Dess kicked off her boots as Noelle carefully untied her tennis shoes. Dess noticed her outfit, “Why’d you dress all fancy today?”
“What?”
“A turtleneck and cardigan? Usually you’re wearing all your bracelets and some t-shirt of some obscure old nerd shit.” Dess smiled and rolled her eyes, “Did you want to look cute for Suzy?”
“No… I honestly don’t know why I dressed like this today.” Noelle was half telling the truth, when she got dressed this morning it was as if she was on auto-pilot. But she was grabbing clothes she didn’t even know she had. Maybe she was hoping Suzy would notice and compliment her and hold her hands and spin her around and-
“Yo, you’ve been on the floor for like 5 minutes, get up.” Dess snickered to herself and walked to the kitchen.
The two sat on the couch drinking hot cocoa and eating some waffles. They were watching a horror movie marathon on TV, they both have seen the movies a thousand times but they were oddly comforting.
“How do… How do I tell her how I feel?”
Dess turned down the volume slightly, “Walk up to her and call her a hot piece of work, worked for dad didn’t it?” Dess chuckled and Noelle shook her head. “I’m NOT calling her that, faha.”
“I don’t know, man. Like I said, she definitely likes you back, just say whatever comes to mind. You might, uh, need to spell it out for her though.” Dess scratched her head, “She’s not that uhm…”
Noelle cut her off, “She’s actually pretty smart, she’s just smart in other ways.” She didn’t mean for her tone to sound so defensive, which Dess then teased her about. “Get her a gift? What’s she like?”
“Rocks.”
“Oh my god.” Dess cackled, Noelle wanted to defend Suzy again but held her tongue. “She likes other stuff too, she’s a big movie fan especially those giant dinosaur movies. Her eyes always light up when we watch them. She also collects playing cards? Like she has a whole shelf dedicated to just different decks? One time she showed me a whole collection of the jack of spades she had.” Dess started to laugh again but stopped herself, motioning for Noelle to continue. “I don’t know she just collects a bunch of random objects, some of them she even has names for, faha! Oh! She always looks at my bracelets and compliments them, maybe I should make her one?” Dess patted her on the back, “There ya go! Make her one that says ‘I’m in love with you!’”
“I’m not doing that!” Noelle’s face went red and she got up and went to her room. She smiled behind her closed door. [ That’d be way too forward.] She pulled out her bead collection and got to work.
Noelle fell asleep pretty easily, the bracelet making knocked her out.
Noelle was sitting staring out a window. There was a beautiful colorful city staring back at her. Lights flashing everywhere and it looked so small from all the way up here. “So, ferris wheels, huh?” Noelle was snapped out of her daze, she turned and was face to face with Suzy. Except her skin was a bright pink and she was wearing completely different clothes than what she usually does…
Noelle’s alarm clock went off. She rolled around in her bed trying to hide from it’s loud screech, hoping to go back to that dream. [ If you could do something crazy right now, what would you do?] It was so unusual. Noelle’s dreamed of Suzy before, but this time something felt odd, it was nice though. Dess knocked on her door, “Shut that off and get up, you’re gonna be late!” Noelle’s eyes shot open and she rushed around her room. She threw on an old band shirt, some jeans, and didn’t have time for makeup. She slid on a couple bracelets and sprinted out the door.
It was an unusual sight. Noelle’s seat was empty, she was always on time. Usually Frisk came in first and then Noelle soon followed. Suzy leaned forward and whispered to Frisk, “Did you see Noelle this morning?” The human shook their head, “Damn, hope she’s alright…” Suzy leaned back and watched the door, occasionally glancing at the clock. Finally, the door swung open. Noelle scurried to her seat, her hair was a mess and her shirt was on backwards. Suzy quietly chuckled to herself, [ Somehow she’s even more pretty… Can you like, not, right now?] “You okay?” Noelle silently nodded and started chugging a water bottle. Alphys returned back to the lesson once Noelle was settled in her seat. Noelle dug through her bag but then she remembered, she left her notebook on the floor last night. She was using it to plan out patterns for the bracelets. She looked up and saw Suzy smirking down at her, “Forget something?”
“Y-yeah, I left my notebook at home.”
“We can share mine, scoot over.”
Noelle was confused, Suzy could’ve just given her paper? Like she did with her yesterday? She didn’t question it for too long, she didn’t want to pass up the chance to be close to Suzy. She quietly scooted her chair over and leaned to see Suzy’s notes.
They were quite messy and Noelle could barely read them but she didn’t say a word. Suzy got done writing on the backside of a page and moved her arm to start writing on the next, she bumped Noelle’s hands that were neatly clasped on the corner of the desk.
“Whoops, sorry”
“No, you’re good!” An idea popped into Noelle’s head, causing her to blush, “C-could I… put my arm around yours?” “H-huh?”
“Like, uhm, this?” Noelle wrapped her arms around Suzy’s arm that was resting on the desk. She leaned on her shoulder slightly to be able to see the notes. Suzy’s face was a noticeable shade of red and she held ber breath. Noelle noticed some bandages on Suzy’s fingers, acting without thought, she grabbed her free hand and gently rubbed her fingers over the bandages. Suzy huffed and tried to focus back on the lesson but her mind was racing. [ Say something you idiot. Anything! Why’s she doing this to me???] “Your, uh, shirt is, uhm, on backwards, d-dumbass.” Noelle let go of Suzy and looked down, embarrassed, she asked to use the restroom. As Suzy watched her leave, she wanted to fist fight herself. [ Damn it! Why’d I say THAT???] Noelle sat close to Suzy but not as close as before for the rest of the day.
As Suzy was packing up, Alphys approached her, “S-so I have to stay late to help Toriel with plans for the dance next week. Is it okay if you walked home?”
“Yeah, that’s fine, no worries, mom. ALPHYS.” They both awkwardly laughed but then Suzy felt a presence approaching her from behind.
“I could, uhm, drive you home, if you’d like.” Noelle stood there, hands politely held together in front of her.
“Holy shit, you drive?!”
“Y-yes, as long as Dess is in the car. I’m taking my driving test next Monday actually.” Noelle smiled and pushed some hair behind her ear. Suzy blushed, she shouldn’t have, it was just simple small little action, why was it cute?
“Well, I call shotgun!” Suzy said trying to distract herself.
“You… probably shouldn’t… so Dess can advise me, faha…”
“Oh right. Whatever, let’s go!” She grabbed Noelle’s hand without thinking and walked out the school building.
The two walked over to a dark green cobalt sitting in the parking lot. The passenger window was down and there was a hand holding a cigarette sticking out. Noelle unlocked the car and the hand hurriedly tossed the cigarette as far as they could. Suzy didn’t realize they were still holding hands until it was time to let go to get into the car. It just felt right… holding her hand.
“Hey! Suzy, long time no see.” Dess reached her hand back to shake Suzy’s. Right as Suzy was about to shake her hand, Dess pulled it back, “Ah too slow.” Suzy rolled her eyes. Noelle started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. Suzy took this time to observe the car, it smelled like pine trees but she didn’t see an air freshener. There were a couple receipts, food wrappers, and cans on the floor, she expected it to be cleaner but it was kinda cool how messy it was. She noticed there were two photos clipped onto the sun visor, one was of Noelle, Dess and their father. On the other side was the same picture of Suzy and Noelle from the festival that Suzy had in her room. She smiled and looked out the window. Noelle glanced up at the mirror to look at her, she blushed slightly but focused back on the road.
“So, you two going on a date tomorrow, right?”
“DESS!” Noelle turned her head.
“Aup! Eyes on the road, Noelle!” Dess smirked and looked back at Suzy, “At my concerts, I got two rules.”
Suzy looked at her, Dess raised a finger, “Number one, no moshing, which means no fighting. I don’t want a lawsuit or something.”
“Okay.” Dess raised another finger,
“And number two, no smoochin. No one wants to see PDA at a concert.” Dess laughed mischeviously, and poked Noelle’s arm. Noelle tightened her grip on the steering wheel. “So, no moshing, no smoochin, got it, Suzilla?”
“Yup, got it.” Suzy was confused on why exactly Dess told her these right now. She wasn’t exactly planning on fighting anyone nor smooching anyone… well. She wouldn’t be opposed to it but. [ Nah, I’m not even 100% sure she likes me back. I mean, she could’ve just been doing that earlier cause she genuinely wanted to see the notes. Just cause I was freaking out doesn’t mean she was too.]
“Noelle told me you’re a bit of a rule breaker, but break my rules, and I’ll totally hit you with my guitar.” Dess laughed.
“Dess, I swear I will crash this car.” Noelle said under her breath, face growing red.
“That’d actually be kinda sick, never been hit with a guitar before.” Suzy’s face oddly lit up at the idea of having a guitar split in half as it hit her head.
“What else have you been hit with???” Dess looked confused, she then got flashbanged by what Undyne told her all those years ago. “Uh, nevermind, this is your house, right?”
Suzy looked out the window, damn, home already, it was actually kinda fun riding with Noelle and Dess. “Yup” She paused. “See ya tomorrow, Jingles.”
Suzy got out of the car and smiled to herself as she walked to the front door.
Noelle spaced out, face red as ever. “Don’t-”
“JINGLES??? BAHAHAHA” Noelle pulled out of the driveway as fast as she safely could and sped home.
Suzy jumped out of her bed, she could hardly sleep. It was finally Friday, even though she has to wait nearly 13 hours, she was excited to finally go to the concert with Noelle. The house was silent as Suzy exited her room. On the fridge was a note:
Had to go into the school early for a meeting, sorry! - Alphys :(
Suzy tucked the note into her pocket, she wasn’t sure why, but she liked keeping all of notes Alphys left for her. It was kinda funny how she’d write her own awkward mannerisms in a note. Suzy grabbed a box of cereal and sat in the living room, scrolling on her phone for a bit. Noelle was reblogging posts like crazy last night, there were the usual gifs of a strange little green dog creature, dumb shitposts that made Suzy snort whether she’d admit it or not, then the reblogs turned into posts of love songs or sappy poems. Noelle occasionally would reblog those type of posts but this was multiple in a row, Suzy kept scrolling and eventually found a post from Noelle herself.

Now Suzy’s heart was beating fast, she got a stupid grin on her face. She hovered over the heart icon for a second and then clicked it, along with the chat bubble icon.

Suzy got up off the couch, still smiling like a goober, and got ready for school. There was bit more of a pep in her step. [ Was she cuddling anyone else in school that my mind blocked out?? No, that has to have been about me. Well, at least my comment is still fine if it isn’t about me…] On her way to school, Suzy checked her phone again. There was a new post from Noelle.

No hashtags this time, Suzy checked her account and saw that the post was gone. Suzy’s confidence died down a little.
“DESS, PLEASE STOP LAUGHING WHAT DO I DO” Noelle was panicking while Dess cackled, holding her phone.
“DESS!!! SHE COMMENTED!!” Noelle was gripping her sister’s shoulders, begging and pleading for some solution.
“Yeah, I saw!!! Either she’s so incredibly dense or she knows.”
“THAT DOESN’T HELP ME!! I DIDN’T WANT HER FINDING OUT LIKE THIS.”
“I still can’t believe you mixed up your accounts, I mean, reblogging all this sappy stuff on your main too, geez, Noelle” Dess was scrolling through her phone as Noelle was about to dissolve into nothingness. “Alright, just say your account got hacked or something, she’d probably believe that.” Dess handed her phone back to her.
Noelle typed up a new post and quickly deleted That One. She let out a sigh but she was still shaking from nerves. “I’ll drive you today, you’re so not fit to drive right now.”
“ Thank you…”
Noelle walked into the classroom, she was quite early. She saw Suzy and Frisk attempting to build a pencil tower, just like usual. “Dude we gotta try and make a castle one of these days, I KNOW we can do it-” The tower came crashing down, pencils rolling all across the room. Noelle giggled and sat down at her desk. Suzy whipped her head to look at Noelle and smiled. Frisk got up to collect the pencils before more students came in.
“So, uh, Noelle, I’ve been meaning to ask you…”
[ Oh god, oh god, oh god]
“What’s, uh, up with that little green dog? Suzy said as she leaned back in her chair.
[ Oh, thank goodness]
“Oh! Uhm, it’s from an old show I used to watch with Dess. It’s actually a robot, uhm, I could show you some clips before class starts?” Noelle went to pull out her phone but Suzy’s voice stopped her.
“Nah, maybe next time I hang out at your place?”
“O-oh! Yeah! Sure!” Suzy huffed and grinned.
It seemed like class was never going to end. The lesson moved on from anything that interested Suzy, so she took a nap. Snoring quite loudly for a classroom setting. Alphys didn’t seem to mind, though she probably should’ve.
Finally, the clock read 2pm. Noelle gently tapped Suzy to wake her up, Suzy buried her head into her arms more. Noelle shook her a bit, “Hey, Suzy, it’s time go to home.” Suzy turned her head and grumbled, she slowly opened her eyes looking directly at Noelle’s, “mmmmmy… angelll…” Her voice was hoarse from her snoring and was slurred from still being half-asleep. “What?” Noelle’s face was growing red, and suddenly Suzy jumped out of her seat, “WHAT? NOTHING. UH. SEE YOU LATER, REMEMBER TO TEXT ME THE ADDRESS.” Suzy ran out of the classroom, hiding her face.
“The concert isn’t for another 2 hours, do you really need that much time to pick out an outfit??” Dess watched as Noelle was digging through her closet, laying piles of outfits on her bed.
“YES!” Noelle shouted as she frantically grabbed one shirt and laid it with a different pair of pants. Dess put her hands up and walked back out of the room.
Meanwhile, Suzy was studying her closet, looking semi-desperately for clothes that didn’t have an anime or movie on it. “Hey, Undyne!” The fish monster peeked her head into the room.
“What do you wear to a rock show?”
“People usually wear black torn up clothes but wear whatever, that’s kind of the point of being punk!” Undyne laughed, it didn’t exactly help. “Oh! I got some things from when I was your age, I’ll be back!” Suzy pulled out a numetal band t-shirt she got from a thrift store a while ago. She also found a pair of black ripped jeans that she was able to hide from Alphys, which she wouldn’t totally force Suzy to wear non-ripped jeans, she was just concerned for when the temperature dropped. Suzy grabbed a slightly worn out black zipper hoodie and threw the outfit on. Not bad. Undyne returned with some accessories in her hand, she had a chain necklace and some spiked bracelets. She helped Suzy put them on, now the outfit was badass.
“Is it okay if I, uh, take the car? I kinda told Noelle I’d pick her up.”
“Yeah, of course! It just better be in one piece when you come back!” Undyne laughed as she patted Suzy on the back. Suzy heard her phone buzz and picked it up excitedly.

Suzy smiled and put her phone into her pocket. She waved goodbye to Alphys and Undyne and started the car. She paused for a moment and pulled out her phone again.
Whats yur adress again?
Dess was on the phone with her band when she heard the door knock, “Hold on, guys. Noelle! Your date’s here!!!”
“Dess, stop saying that, I don’t want to weird her out.”
Dess smiled and rolled her eyes, she walked into another room. She opened the door and was greeted by a very nervous Suzy. She looked at Noelle and let out a small gasp on accident. Noelle giggled, “I usually wear stuff like this!” Noelle had on a white shirt with a design of skull with angel wings, there were so many lines it was hard to tell what was even on it, she had shorts and two belts which weren’t holding literally anything. She had black and white high striped socks on that had some holes and had arm warmers that matched. Though, you could barely see them due to all the bracelets she had on her arms. She did truly usually wear stuff like this, typically during the beginning of the week just cause it took so long in the morning before school.
Suzy’s mouth was still open as she reached over and grabbed some of Noelle’s hair, “Yeah, but this is new!” She started brushing her hair, Dess helped Noelle dye raccoon tails in the side pieces of her hair. Noelle’s face burned as Suzy played with her hair, “D-do you like it?”
“Hell yeah! You’re so, uh, pretty” Suzy’s face went red.
“O-oh, I think you’re pretty, too!”
“Hah! Me? Pretty? Gotta get your eyes checked, Holiday!”
“I can see just fine.” Noelle smiled, Suzy turned away, hoping to hide her grin.
Noelle suddenly bumped into Suzy, she kind of just froze unsure of what to do. Suzy looked at her then at the door, Dess was standing there with a smirk, “Alright, I want her back by midnight, no funny business!”
“Okay, got it.” Suzy squinted her eyes at Dess.
“Now get out of here, you crazy kids! Sigh, they grow up so fast.”
“We’re literally seeing you in 30 minutes!” Suzy shouted as she opened the car door for Noelle.
The two sat in the car for moment, both slowly coming back to reality. “Oh, I have something for you!” Noelle reached into her pocket and pulled out four bracelets. “I, uhm, wasn’t sure what you might like so I made multiple, pick whichever one…” One had light and dark purple beads with letters reading ‘SUSIE’, one was pink, black, and gold, one was black, white and grey with a spades charm hanging off of it, and the last was an alternating red and green hearts and read ‘NOELLE’.
Suzy shoved her hand into Noelle’s and picked all of them up, “I want all of it, dumbass! These are badass!!” Suzy immediately rolled up her sleeves and put them on, 2 on each arm. Noelle noticed the spiked bracelets on her wrists, “When did you g-get those?”
“Oh, Undyne gave them to me, along with this necklace. Pretty cool, right?”
“Y-yeah…” Noelle couldn’t help but think about the dream she had the other night. If only Suzy was wearing the sleeveless jacket as well.
“I got you something as well…”
“What? Suzy you didn’t have to!”
Suzy plopped a poorly wrapped box into Noelle’s lap and leaned her head against her arm that was against the window, “Open it.” She said with a smirk.
Noelle carefully opened the box and inside was a chocolate bar, a gingerbread necklace, and something wrapped in tissue paper. She unwrapped it, and inside was a wooden carved angel. Noelle gently held it as if it was glass and looked up at Suzy. “The old man taught me how to carve wood and, uhm, I sort of, had a dream that you grew these like sick angel wings… and flew over the city…” Suzy started scratching her face, Noelle noticed the bandages were gone but could see little scratches on her hands. “Suzy… I…” Noelle wanted to scream, her heart was aching, she wanted to run away but never wanted to leave this car, this moment. “C-can you help me put the necklace on?”
“Whuh, with these clumsy things, really?”
“Please…?”
“Alright, I’ll try.” Suzy leaned over the center console and brushed Noelle’s hair out of the way. She struggled for an embarrassingly long time and when she finally got it, she cheered. “Knew I could do it, heh… Noelle?” Her eyes were glued to Suzy’s, slowly Noelle reached her shaking hand up to Suzy’s face. They started to lean in close to each other, Noelle closed her eyes, and-
BEEEEPP BEEEEEEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEEEPP
Noelle screamed and jumped back in her seat, Suzy flinched and her hands slammed onto the steering wheel. Behind them, Dess and her band were laying on the horn. Suzy started the car and took off. The car ride was silent, both of the girls too busy freaking out mentally.

Suzy pulled into the parking lot of the bar, it was quite packed. “Will we even be allowed in? I-it’s a bar?”
“Yeah, Grillby’s is more of a restaurant that just also happens to sell alcohol, we’ll be fine!”
“$10 per person.” A former dog guard said, with a biscuit hanging from his mouth.
“Oh shit! I didn’t know we had to pay?” Suzy desperately dug through her pockets.
“Don’t worry about it! I got it!” Noelle handed the dog a 20 and grabbed Suzy’s hand. “I’m paying you back.” “No, you aren’t.”
The two walked in and took a booth in the corner. Dess was on stage getting the equipment ready, she waved at the two girls. Noelle waved back while Suzy flipped her off, smiling. Dess gasped dramatically and laughed as she swung her guitar like a baseball bat on stage. Suzy rolled her eyes and turned to face Noelle. She was a little taken aback as she saw Noelle was staring at her, almost lost in her own world. “You okay, Noelle?” The deer shook her head and blinked her eyes, “Uhm, yeah, just thinking…”
“About earlier..?” Suzy leaned on across the table a bit, looking directly in Noelle’s eyes as she now tried to avoid eye contact.
“I-I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking… I know I said this was a date, but t-that was more of just, uhm, saying a common phrase! Yeah! So, uhm, if you…” Noelle gulped and tried to hide her shaking hands under the table. “Don’t be sorry, it’s fine.” Suzy leaned back into the booth, there was a little disappointment in her voice.
“Alright! We’re gonna start the night off with an original! Raise up your bat!!” Dess yelled into the microphone, it cut out slightly.
Suzy turned in the booth to be able to watch the performance, she started nodding her head along and tapping her foot. “Your sister’s awesome, dude!” “Y-yeah.” Noelle wasn’t paying attention to the concert at all.
There was a mix of originals and covers, eventually Noelle got up and offered her hand to Suzy. “Wanna dance?”
Suzy made Noelle stumble a bit with how much force she used to grab her hand, “Hell yeah! I don’t know how but can’t be too hard right?!” The two awkwardly danced for a while, Noelle was full of energy and was bouncing up and down to beat of the song while Suzy was just banging her head, holding onto Noelle’s hand to make sure she wouldn’t fall. [ I want to protect her.]
“This one goes out to my little sis who’s here with a date tonight!” Dess looked directly at them through the crowd and she turned around to start singing. When you were here before, couldn’t look you in the eye.
“I really wish she’d stop calling it a date…” Noelle looked down.
“Heh, me too, yeah…” Suzy scratched the back of her head.

Noelle reached up and put her arms over Suzy’s shoulders. Suzy froze for a second, not sure where to put her hands, she just let them hover over the sides of Noelle’s waist. The two swayed back and forth a bit.
You float like a feather, In a beautiful world.
“Suzy, I want to tell you something, but I’m scared… I don’t want to lose you…”
“You’re never getting rid of me… Jingles…” Suzy smirked and made direct eye contact with Noelle.
I wish I was special. You’re so fuckin’ special.
“I, uhm, like you Suzy.” Noelle’s voice shoke as she spoke.
But I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo.
“I REALLY like you, I have for years…”
What the hell am I doin’ here, I don’t belong here.
Suzy stopped moving, her breathing got heavy. “I-I’m sorry, we c-can just forget this happened, right? I-I can, uhm, I can ride home with Dess, It’s fine! We can, uhm, we can.”
I don’t care if it hurts.
Noelle was starting to panic a little and she took her arms off of Suzy, frantically waving them as she apologized.
I wanna have control. I want a perfect body. I want a perfect soul.
Suzy grabbed Noelle’s face and pulled her close. Noelle’s eyes went wide then she quickly closed them, she put her hands back around Suzy’s shoulders.
I want you to notice, when I’m not around.
Suzy pulled away, “I like you too, Noelle, like a LOT.”
Noelle sighed, “oh, thank god.” She giggled as she laid her head against Suzy’s neck.
After the concert, the two met up with Dess.
“What did I say about smoochin.” Dess was pretending to be angry, “Ehh whatever, I’ll let it slide just this once.” She punched Suzy’s arm and rustled Noelle’s hair. She walked over to her band’s van, leaving the girls alone.
“So, uhm, are we, uh…”
“Yeah. If you, uh, want to..”
“YES!” Noelle yelled a louder than she wanted to, she slapped her hands to her mouth. Suzy laughed softly, “You’re so cute…”
The two blushed and walked together to the car.
