When the dirty blonde boy, known as Grian, had first managed to spot his fri- Scar, the familiar brunette from the trees, the blonde haired avian had a whirl of emotions hit him at once - the main emotion currently plaguing his mind being one that truly made him consider deeply about choosing to turn the other way and make sure he wasn't forced to talk or to run into the previously allied brunette - he really didn't want - no, he refused to have a repeat of all the events - all the trauma that happened the previous season - considering the thoughts and emotions his mind was currently holding, what his mind obviously first thought when he saw the man with a familiar emerald gaze, what it told him to do, there was almost - no there was absolutely no doubt that he'd fall right back into old patterns - and Grian, he was better than that! - the logical side - albeit not the loudest side - in his mind knew he needed to think more rationally before actually approaching the brunette. Think about - plan out the conversation almost
He could avoid Scar, that would send a message best to anyone right? The message that they weren't as close as they used to be would become rathar apparent, Most people would take the hint right?
The keyword was, sadly, most, knowing Scar, he most certainly wouldn't- Grian would most definitely need to be rathar direct in his approach to the whole scenario - Unfortunately "more direct" just so happened to be, blatantly telling him that Grian needed him to promise to the avian that anything that happened in third life was null and void this time around, it all meant nothing.
Okay! Good! Grian knew what he wanted to do on top of take and steal life off Scars hands, he had a plan, all he had to do is put it all into action and most certaintly, he couldn't fuck it up. All this seemed so easy in Grians mind, even as he finally took steps in approach to Scar.
Grians footsteps could be heard in the grass, the avian eventually taking steps in around from the trees - It was clear that Scar heard the rustles around him and in the grass, because, while he was looking the wrong way, he did presumably seem like he was trying to find the other person he heard previously
"Hello?" He asked confused, turning back around to face where Grian now stood himself once the brunette found nothing.
Startled at the sudden sight before him, Scar jumped back abit "OH-! hello!" He repeated his earlier greeting
While Scar was busy calming himself briefly, Grian grew a quick and slight confusion for only a second, the achievement Scar had received prior to this conversation, just a few minutes ago, definitely did not align with the fact Scar seemingly had dressed himself in diamond armour
Then he realised- laughing as he spoke
"Oh I thought you actually had diamond armour' He continued to laugh while Scar let out a not at all convincing shriek
"I- I do!"
These shenanigans, they were nice, they were familiar- but nice, he didn't- he couldn't repeat the previous events, it would hurt him in more ways than one and it would end up crumbling him into an even bigger downfall, but maybe he could chose to humor and encourage the brunette, just for now.
He had to get moving, even if he was going to entertain the brunettes antics he at least needed to not be doing nothing - plus, the Torches he was beginning to place weren't planning to light the server themselves and without help -
"We can't - we- can't uh" Grian paused, thinking
"We can't just sit-" Scar started to move with Grian, walking with and behind the avian as he interrupted
"We can't linger?" He tried to help, clearly Grian was struggling
"We can't just sit there"
Scar protested "but grian - I have diamond armour so it's fine!" Scar stood in front of Grian, only just now realising the blonde stopped in his tracks
"Yeah I- I have a suspicion that you don't actually have diamond' Grian took steps forward towards Scar and punched him with his fist
Scar crossed his arms "He no touchy touchy!" He angrily pouted - but the pout parted ways soon enough, turning and transforming to a smile as he laughed "I bite"
He might as well say it now, he can't keep procrastinating it and getting entirely distracted
"Hey- okay- first things first" He began, Scars full attention seemingly now undeniably on Grian as he spoke more seriously but nervously now
"Everything that happened last season is null and void, doesn't count okay?" He raised his brown eyes to look at Scar and his face, searching for any signs he might agree in any form or capacity
"You mean I can't put you on a llama and take you to the sand desert?" Scar joked, at least Grian was hoping it was joke given the laughter he heard between and after Scars words
"No- no- everything that happened is - is in the past" He tried to get/dig out some form of agreement from Scar - he needed the brunette to make this one promise to him
"Sure sure whatever" Scars response came out rathar dismissive, the dissmisve nature of what he said/spoke only being amplified with the wave of one of his tanned hands, casually brushing what Grian said off as he turned his back towards Grians direction, taking a few steps forward and away before he felt before he heard, Grian rush up closer behind him, snatching Scars wrist into his own
"Scar" Grian spoke sternly - clearly Scar wasn't taking him seriously, and he needed to just this once. Scar turned around to face Grian again, the smile on his scarred face faltering and fumbling, evaporating into nothing
"Please, promise me this" a heavy emphasis could be heard placed on Grians plea at the sentences beginning, the grip he held tightly on Scars wrist fell further down into Scars hand accidentally
Scar didn't answer as quickly as Grian hoped, in stead, the sight of Scars beautifully coloured and bright emerald eyes scanning every inch of Grians face- presumably to determine what his response and reaction should be - filled Grians own brown vison as he awaited a response
"I promise' Scar closed his emerald eyes as he spoke
He sounded, genuine - soft at least, he was gentle in his speech, opening his haze once more after he was done/finished speaking
Grian felt, okay, with that Scar made the promise - surprisingly the brunette didn't even try or attempt to laugh him off again either, he didn't brush him off like he had done just a few seconds prior.
Grian snapped his hand down to his side, out of Scars hold once the avian had suddenly had a burst of relization about what he was doing, a sudden feeling of heat rising to his previously pale face and cheeks
"Thanks" Grian muttered, his brown gaze dropping to the grassy grounds
While Grian had told himself countless times that this, this was for the best, he told himself that he needed that, sort of - separation? - that they needed to put previous season all in the past, it was good for the both of them. Deep down below the surfaces of his mind, which he trained to only speak logic nowadays, Grian always felt as if he... needed Scar? Was that weird? He let himself miss him, it's only natural - and it's logical! To miss someone you used to know so well - but the other feeling, it was different, it told him, deep down in his gut that he should ignore the fact that being close to Scar again, breaking the promise he was so insistent on making in the first place was horrendously terrible idea, it told him time after time that if Grian just returned to Scar again after so long, it would be -
Grian buried that feeling deep, he wouldn't let that side of him be seen, he wouldn't allow it to slip out anytime soon, he was sure- It was mind VS heart, the promise and clear safety of staying far way from Scar, not letting him in again like he stupidly and foolishly had before, VS returning to the familiar side of Scar, returning to his status as Scars right hand man, old habits dont have to die hard do they?- his mind, he had to follow his mind, Grian knew that, thinking before every action carefully, while tiring, can't go wrong, it won't hurt him, having complete control of his actions was a smart idea, that's what he had decided and made up his mind on already, so that is what he planned to stick with, he had chosen that path on purpose
So when he slipped up orginally, he knew he fucked up big time
He wasn't thinking rationally, at all, red names never seem to do - especially if said red name had their suspiciously not red named team mates decide to kick them out of the home you built, the team you led and originally started - he was alone, the only person Grian had left - the only person he could even come remotely come close to and considering his friend (at the time) was Joel, and he was out busy for the night, not able/available to join Grian in his night-time stroll/walk he decided to take around parts of the server
Grian was, currently so lost, so stuck in everlasting thoughts about his newly coloured name, how it happened and his next course of action following the change - in fact, the blonde was so stuck and glued on these particular thoughts, that when he made his climbing way up the mountains rough terrain and rocks/rocky sides, he paid no mind - in fact it completely and utterly slipped his mind that he should probably move his thoughts onto something new - he was around magical mountain, it was Scars home, that's what he should've been focusing on at that moment - but he didn't. He didn't think about his actions in the moment, in akl of his focus on his other racing thoughts currently in his mind, he simply never thought to check in with the logical side of himself - the side of himself that usually dealt with all thoughts about Scar.
Grians walk took him right to Scars front door, the brunette fortunately in the moment, being right where Grian wanted him, standing in front of him, scared, confused but weirdly and strangely, slightly intrigued
Grian practically threw himself at Scar, the brunette startled and surprised at the avians abrut movement but still able to catch Grian in his scarred arms hold regardless
Scar was confused, confused beyond belief, he rathar weakly tried to remind Grian about their deal... no, promise of basically no contact - but before he could really muster out a proper sentence or reminder amoungust his shock, he felt Grians body weight lift up against his and somehow got closer, Grians face soon pressing against Scars, Grians lips combing into Scars, the kiss was sloppy, desperate beyond belief on Grians end, it was a mess, but it was so unbelievably familiar, it was so close to what they had before, in third life, the broken promise didn't matter in the moment, all that mattered was how they felt right that second, how the kiss against each of their lips delt and made them individually and separately feel
The two of them continued and kept going long into the dark night, passion sparking them both, Grian made himself comfortable on top of the makeshift "shop" counter, refusing to break the kiss even as he moved and manuvered his way around into the wood counters centre
The two only made out, passionate kisses placed all around each of the twos skin, but nothing more.
Grian felt, a weird tired feeling spark around his body after it all - although he was tired, he wasn't going to lie, he couldn't deny that he definitely also felt a kind of bliss in his soul - and panic, as Grian left, he let his actions finally/actually properly start to dawn on him, panic started and quickly continued to rise and build up - this was terrible! - Grian had fucked up big time and beyond belief - it was felt so wrong vut go- no! It was wrong, he... broke his promise to Scar - but mainly the one he had made to himself long again
Next time he saw Scar, catching a glimpse of the brunette from the corner of his dark eyes, he urged and begged the self proclaimed wizard to come talk to him alone- this time he knew what to say, why he was there, Scar needed to know that - that was a slip up - a mistake on Grians end- Grian was prepared, he thought it through like he always did - well like he almost always did anyways - he had his mind set on a plan and he intended to stick to it
Or so he thought
After the ghast farm - after he visited Scar, that same very night, His feelings refused to be buried like they had successfully been before- they stirred and whirled up in his gut and the very carefully constructed plan he had
Words didn't escape him, no, placing his body and lips against Scar once more his plan shattered and crumbled before him, in front of him
And soon the promise did too
It became, routine almost, a regular occurrence of sorts, one that ended up eith Scar and Grian tired but pleased at the end, the leftover of kisses on several parts of each one of their bodies - one time they even made out on the enchanter, Grians back against the magical object, so close to it, able to steal it with a quick mine of his pickaxe if he wasn't so distracted with messily kissing the man leaning against every inch of his rathar small body, Scar.
So the promise formed, evolved and changed into something new. The last promise was broken, but a new one developed - developed on one of the few days and visits to one another they didn't end up preoccupied with something else - a promise that, if this were to continue on like this, they were to not say a word to anyone, don't let this get out or tell a soul, this, was for them, for them alone - and hey Scar didn't even laugh or let out a chuckle even once at the idea of this new deal - in fact he was quite shockingly quite/enthusiastically in agreement - he agreed, he was willing to keep the promise without much or any convincing from Grian.
