Summary
A beat. Until the grating noise of heavy stone dragging against stone echoes throughout the space. Purple eyes dart up to find the lid of the coffin being pushed to the side by a pale, slender hand. A thud shakes the room as the slab impacts the ground.
The individual stares at the coffin intently, waiting in baited breath to see the creature sealed away six hundred years ago, taking the combined effort of humans and witches to ensnare. Will he even get to make his case? Or will he be dead before he can get a word out, a fitting end for someone foolish enough to release an Elder Vampire. The idea, the risk, makes him even more excited.
Finally, a form rises from the coffin.

“Uhh, yeah? Why would you not?” He rolls his eyes as though it's obvious, despite the stories being of stolen names. Though they guess the people unaware of what they were losing are louder to complain. The Pixie continues, “So long as the trade seems equal, I'll gladly barter for your name!”
“Can I have your name?” Shelby requests impulsively.

Summary
It felt like every loop someone new betrayed her.
She'd grappled with the idea of if she could bring herself to forgive a Pyro or Owen that had not killed Avid. A few loops later Shelby was no closer to an answer and had added Martyn, Pearl, and Cleo to the list. Then Ren and Sausage, then Apo and Abolish. Doctor Legundo. Each and every one betrayed or wronged her in one of the many loops. They struggled to separate the feelings in their head towards all these different versions who they'd never get closure from and the person in front of her in that moment.

Put Shelby in a timeloop that resets at dusk the day Avid dies and watch this character that was so entwined with everyone's stories lose the thing that drew people to her in her desperate efforts to save him.

Summary
Shelby doesn't write Oakhurst's story after leaving to travel with Drift and Scott. She can't write about it without remembering how Avid left notes in her notebook saying how he liked what she'd written so far, how he'd never leave her a message in her manuscript again. Every time she picks up a pencil to continue from where she left off, her hand would shake and tears would fall onto the page and any sentences she tried to write would turn out illegible.
So she writes other stories. She learns all she can about other kinds of supernatural creatures, picks their brains, and writes stories based on them. She writes about Bigfoot. She writes about Faeries. They write about shapeshifters and merfolk and chimeras and griffins until their notebook is filled with characters, scenes, ideas, and story arcs. They write and they write and they don't stop writing.

Ryuji's relieved it’s not coming to a fight. Ren’s a friend, and he hasn’t seemed all there lately–they might have curbstomped his shadow if it’d come to that, and wouldn’t that feel awful.
Ren’s shadow smiles shyly, and waves them off before disappearing in bright light. The PT make their usual escape. The Palace crumbles.
