Summary
After moving to Tokyo together, "Hikaru" and Yoshiki have finally made it out of that stifling little Kubitachi village. But the things they learned there have followed them to the city. Words remain unspoken between them, yet neither is willing to risk breaking the fragile bond that they both cherish. The risk is too high. And so, they pretend those words don't exist, and try to live as humans are meant to.
But one day, exactly one week before the cherry blossom trees are set to bloom, "Hikaru" comes across a tiny little book of poetry, hiding on the lowest rung of a shelf in a bookstore. It's cover is blood red, and it gives him a strange feeling. "If I read this, I think it will change me..." He thinks. But he doesn't know why.
In spite of that subconscious warning, he picks up the book and takes it home, not knowing how correct his instincts will end up being.
