Work Text:

"BLESS!"

An ending to the Internet Angel's one million followers stream is just the beginning of a perfect hiatus P-Chan has planned for her girlfriend. She waits in the main room of their apartment, listening as Ame gets out of K-Angel's costume.

P-Chan has everything set up. She has Ame's favorite candle burning, the lights off apart from a few lamps to bathe the room in a warm glow, a nest of soft blankets and fluffy pillows arranged on the couch for their movie night.

Everything has to be perfect. P-Chan thinks as she adjusts one of the pillows. Her girlfriend's been working so hard to reach her goal, streaming every day and keeping up her persona. She deserves a nice break, no matter how short.

Ame comes out of her room, in a pair of pajama shorts and an oversized Maretu hoodie.

"What's all this?" she asks with a yawn.

"I thought we could have a movie night." P-Chan's bouncing on the balls of feet nervously, hands clasped behind her back. "Watch whatever you'd like, maybe cuddle?"

Ame's eyes light up. "Can we watch Evangelion?"

She's heard of it a few times, never particularly felt interested in it enough to watch it, but if it makes her girlfriend happy in any way, she'll do it. She'll do anything for Ame, no matter what.

They end up settled on the couch, in the nest of blankets and pillows, the show playing on the TV. P-Chan adores the feeling of Ame all curled up in her arms, arms around her waist, a solid, warm weight against her chest.

She presses her nose to her hair, planting a kiss on the top of her head. Ame's hair smells fainting of the cherry scented shampoo she uses, and a bit like sweat. P-Chan doesn't mind, she knows her girlfriend struggles with hygiene, especially when she's working so hard. It's better than that overly flowery perfume she used to wear, either way.

=====

After a night spent on the couch, cuddled up and watching episode after episode, P-Chan gets up just a bit earlier than Ame to make her her favorite breakfast; rice, miso soup, and eggs. She boils the water for the miso and pours the packet in, she isn't skilled enough in the kitchen to make it from scratch yet. Scrambles the eggs and combines it with the rice, before ladling out the miso and scooping the rice and eggs into two bowls, setting them out on the table.

She goes to the bedroom to wake up Ame, pausing to admire her face for a second. Without the stress and difficulties of her day to day life, she looks almost like a real angel. After a few seconds of admiring, she puts a hand on her shoulder and gently shakes her.

"Ame," she says softly. "Wake up, I made you breakfast."

Ame groans quietly, covering her face with her arm. "Five more minutes…" she grumbles, pulling the blanket tighter around her body.

"But the food'll get cold… I made you your favorite?" P-Chan coaxes. "Eggs are no good cold."

Ame opens one of her eyes to look at her, then sighs. "Just give me a few minutes to get out of bed."

She nods, accepting that that's the best answer she'll get. Then, she leaves Ame to get up, going over to the kitchen to rinse out the pots she used. Minutes later, she wanders out of the bedroom, coming up behind P-Chan and wrapping her arms around her waist, resting her chin on her shoulder.

"Good morning." she says with a yawn. "The food smells good."

P-Chan looks over her shoulder at her with a smile. "Go sit down, I'll join you in a second."

Soon, they sit across from each other at the dining table, eating the breakfast she prepared for them. The rice is fluffy, the miso is tasteful, and the eggs are seasoned nicely. She feels quite proud of the good job she did, and she smiles as Ame lets out a pleased hum.

"This is so good babe." she says between mouthfuls of rice and egg. "So, what do you have planned for us today?"

"Well, I was thinking we could go shopping first. " P-Chan starts, taking a sip of her water. "Go out to dinner afterwards, and maybe go to the hot springs after?" she really hopes Ame likes the idea, because she already has dinner reservations.

Luckily, Ame nods. "That sounds really nice! You're the best, P-Chan."

P-Chan feels her face flush. Even after how long they've been together, she never quite got used to Ame's compliments. Maybe because Ame is practically a god next to her, or perhaps it's because she never really got out of the constant butterflies phase. She just stuffs another spoonful of rice and eggs into her mouth so she doesn't have to respond.

Ame smiles, obviously enjoying her girlfriend's reaction. She doesn't comment on it, just continues to eat.

=====

Their shopping location ends up being the mall. They wander the hallways, visiting a few stores. Ame finds a few new blouses and skirts, a pair of black and red cargo pants, and a couple hair accessories. P-Chan only buys one thing; a poster of Madoka Kaname for their room.

After a while of walking around the large building, Ame points out a boba shop down the hall. They wait in line for a few minutes before ordering their drinks. Ame gets a milk tea boba, P-Chan gets a strawberry boba with popping pearls. Together, they sit at a small table as they sip at their drinks.

"Where are we going for dinner?" Ame asks eventually, looking over at P-Chan.

"I was thinking that one sushi bar you like downtown." she says. "The one with the really good sashimi."

Ame nods excitedly. "That place! I've been wanting to go for a while now."

P-Chan smiles, glad that her plans are something Ame looks forward to. She takes a sip of her boba and bites down on the pearls to make them pop. "You've been working so hard, I wanted you to have a good break."

Ame smiles. "You're too sweet sometimes, P-Chan. I'm so lucky to have a girlfriend like you."

She blushes again, taking another sip of her boba in an attempt to hide her flustered state. "D-don't mention it. You're the one who works too much."

Ame hums, swirling her straw in her drink. "Alright, you win. I still think you're too nice though."

=====

They arrive at the hot springs a few hours later, having filled their stomachs with sushi and tempura. Changing into their swim wear in separate stalls, and P-Chan rents two towels from the front desk.

She finds Ame waiting for her at the edge of the pools. She's always absolutely blown away by just how beautiful Ame is. Even with the blemishes, body hair, scars, she's still perfect. Some may disagree, but to P-Chan, nothing on Ame could ever be an imperfection in her eyes.

She tears her eyes away after a few seconds, not wanting Ame to feel self conscious. She steps into the water, her girlfriend following behind her as they sink into the pool benches. The water is the perfect temperature, contrasting the cool dusk air. Ame sits next to her, letting out a sigh.

Together, they sit in peaceful silence, P-Chan watching the steam curl off the water and Ame staring at the stars overhead as they twinkle. The humming of the jets and the sound of crickets chirping distantly fills the air, along with Ame's soft breathing next to her.

After several minutes of silence, Ame shifts to rest her head on P-Chan shoulder. No one else is in the pools, so P-Chan doesn't feel embarrassed by the public display of affection. She just wraps her arm around Ame's shoulders, the feeling natural and easy.

They spend the entire time at the hot pools in mostly silence, apart from a few quiet words. Ame seems to doze off a few times, so P-Chan takes that as a sign they head home for the night.

P-Chan helps her dry off and get into her clothes in a changing room, before doing the same for herself. Then, they walk to their car in the parking lot, hands interlaced. They drive back to their apartment, music playing lowly, P-Chan humming under her breath. Ame leans her head against the window and closes her eyes.

When P-Chan pulls into the underground parking for their apartment building, she gets out of the car and goes to the passenger side door, unbuckling Ame and picking her up before she can get out for herself. She makes a cute yelping sound of surprise that makes P-Chan smile.

"W-what are you doing?!" she squeaks, wrapping her arms around her neck to hold on.

"Carrying my sleepy girlfriend to bed." she tells her, as she makes her way over to the elevator, pressing the up button. "Because she deserves princess treatment."

Ame blushes. "Fine, just don't drop me. If you drop me I'll kick your ass.

P-Chan laughs slightly, seeing straight through the lie. Ame was way too tired to kick anyone's ass tonight.

She carries her down the hallway to their apartment, unlocking the door and stepping inside. Placing Ame on the counter, she helps get her shoes off before taking her own off. Then, she picks her back up, making her way to their bedroom. Once she has Ame laid down and comfortable, she crawls into bed next to her, pulling her back into her arms.

"Goodnight, my love." she says softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Sleep well."
