Follows after his mama

Summary:

Divina and Yoko have a boy named Jax, he clearly knows who he loves more.

Work Text:

Yoko made faces as she held the baby in her lap. The baby didn’t respond, looking around the room and avoiding it’s mother’s gaze.

Yoko grunt, the spoon of mushed carrots held uselessly in her hand.

“Come on Jax, look over here at mama.” Yoko tried to smile. Her frustration poked through.

The infant boy didn’t respond, frowning slightly as he looked away from Yoko.

“Wow eyes not on you for a change, I wonder how you’re coping with the lack of attention.” Yoko heard a teasing voice say.

Glancing up she smiled watching Divina enter the dining room.

“Honey, you know the only attention I ever want nowadays is all of yours.” Yoko responded coolly.

Divina rolled her eyes sitting opposite Yoko. Jax instantly turned to look at her, his frown breaking off into a wide grin.

“M-mummy!” He cried happily.

Divina took Jax from Yoko, feeding him half the bowl with ease as Yoko watched in defeat.

“Why did I want us to have a child they’re so annoying.”

Divina quirked an eyebrow. She looked up at Yoko for a slight moment before facing towards Jax again.

“And why is that?”

“For starters, we can’t have sex as much with a baby.”

Divina rolled her eyes, figures that was her wife’s biggest concern.

“Anything else besides your unsatisfied libido that I can very easily change?”

“AND, and they’re just a bunch of attention seekers the whole lot of them, they fall flat on their face and cry about it.”

Divina let out a laugh, Yoko who didn’t understand why only gazed at her, bewilderment etched on her face.

“Follows after his mama I guess.”

Yoko flushed pink at Divina’s words.

“What-no- that’s not true.” She stuttered.

“Yeah let’s not pretend like for many years until me you didn’t over exaggerate every small thing to make people pity you more. And remember when we first met, you not only walked into a wall but also tripped and fell both on your face and ass. I mean I know I’m beautiful but damn you went from drop dead gorgeous to dropped dead clumsy within a millisecond.”

Jax must’ve understood Divina or the situation as he burst into laughter too. Yoko’s face went more red.

“That’s different, it was my shoe lace.” She mumbled an excuse.

Divina didn’t stop laughing as she cleared up Jax’s bowl and spoon.

Finally noticing Yoko’s frown she walked up to the woman pulling her into a kiss. The vampire began to smile.

“I’m only joking love. My favourite parts about hanging out with you before we started dating was when you’d tell me about stuff that happened to you.” Divina hummed.

Yoko smiled pulling the siren into a longer kiss.

Divina looked quickly at Jax before tiptoeing to Yoko’s ear to whisper.

“And once we tuck him in we can do something about the first thing.”

By the time Yoko worked out what Divina meant both women had turned pink. The vampire much happier began to count down the minutes until the moon came up.

Divina gave the vampire a small smirk, winking quickly. Yoko returned both the siren’s gestures.
