“ Sam, you promised now get up off the couch”
“C’mon Em, can’t we go another day? I dont really feel like going”
“No, go get changed. I’ll be waiting for you here.”
Sam rolled her eyes as she begrudgingly walked to her room. She didnt feel like going on a shopping spree with Em today - all she wanted to do was spend the day baking in the comfort of her home. She skimmed through her closet to find something to wear. It took her awhile, but then she found it. The perfect outfit. Sheer black tights, a pleated mini jean skirt, a lacy red top, A jean jacket that reached her waist, Red scarf, Gray leg warmers, and her favorite knee-high boots. She walked over to the full length mirror in the left corner of the room and began admiring herself. Her hands whisked her phone off of the bed and took a couple of selfies for her instagram. Sam knew she was a fine girl.
The blonde finally marched out of her room and made her way to back to the living room, where Em was.
“Finally, I was thinking about leaving without you” she said, arms crossed on her chest.
“Oh you wouldn’t dare.”
“Mhm. I’ve got your bag. Ready to head out?”
“Yup”
Once the two were out the house, Sam’s eyes scanned the vicinity for Em’s car.
“Ugh i know you’re wondering where my car is.”
“Read my mind.”
“Mr meat for brains decided to crash it straight into a mailbox. So we’re gonna have to walk. Luckily for us, the mall is only 8 minutes away by foot.
“ That’s terrible! Is Matt okay?”
“He’s fine, Sam. He just wrecked my baby though.”

The walk to the mall wasn’t too bad - It was chilly, which was expected during a fall day. The two ended up chatting along the way and took a few pictures together.
They were immediately greeted by the sound of music when they stepped inside. The girls headed towards their favorite shops in excitement. They bought a lot of matching clothes, new shoes, perfume, and bags. They hit up 9 different stores in total before deciding to get Starbucks. Both of them got grande pumpkin spice lattes and went to the food court. They saw two familiar faces - Josh and Matt. The boys noticed them as well and signaled them over to sit with them. Em was across from Matt obviously and Sam was opposite Josh. Sam could hear Em and Matt talking but she couldn’t make out what they were saying. She couldnt even focus properly. She was in front Josh, her crush. Sam had developed feelings for Josh a long time ago, but she was too afraid to tell him. They were friends after all. She couldn’t even look him in the eyes as she shifted her gaze to the drink in her hand. She had butterflies in her stomach and her face was getting hotter by the minute.
“Uh, Sammy are you alright?” Josh interrogated
“Yeah im fine” she said trying to keep her cool
“You hungry? I can give u my pretzel”
“Thanks Josh!” she said with a smile escaping her lips.
“Hey, Matt and I are going to GoRider, the sports store upstairs.” Em announced
She gave Sam a wink and left with Matt.
Same ate the pretzel Josh had given her rather quick.
“Woahh slow down there honey, last thing we want is for you to choke. “The food isn’t running away”
“Hardy har, Josh.” she scoffed
“ No but seriously, don’t you eat at home?”
“ Very funny Josh, I actually eat plenty home fyi” she asserted
“Hm i guess you didn’t drink enough milk when you were younger cause your like five foot nothing.” He mentioned while laughing
“ Oh please I am not that short.”
“Sweetheart, I could literally use your shoulders as an armrest.”
“Fine. I will admit that joke had a bit of humor to it.”
Josh stopped joking around all of sudden and tension quickly filled the air.
“Y’know Sam, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”
“What’s up Josh?”
He got up, grabbed Sam’s hand and led her to a more secluded part of the mall. His hands were a bit rough, but they were warm and his palms were a bit sweaty.
“Okay Josh, what’s going on?” she demanded as she backed into a wall.
“Sammy I have feelings for you.
Her eyes widened
“Everytime i see you, my heartbeats faster, I can’t think straight, and i can’t get you out of my mind. Your kindness towards others, your empathy, your love and compassion. That beautiful blonde hair, those dazzling emeralds that stare back at me, the tiny freckles on your nose, the sweet smile on your lips, and the softness of your voice is like honey, Samantha, I’m obsessed with every part of you, I love you, but i don’t want to ruin our friendship. If you don’t feel the same, I understand.
“Josh..”
“I know Sam, it’s alright.”
“No, Josh I love you too.. I just didn’t have the courage to tell you”
Sam threw her arms around Josh’s shoulders and hugged him tightly. She dug her face in his chest and fell tears left her eyes. No words could ever explain how much she loved him. He hugged back with his arms wrapped around her waist. One of his arms let go of her and his hand cupped her face, wiping away the tears. Sam then looked up at him and kissed him. He gasped into the kiss and tightened the grip on her waist. Her lips were soft and tasted like her caramel chapstick. He kissed her harder and bit her bottom lip. Then, he swiped his tongue across her bottom lip, resulting in her parting her lips slightly, granting him access. Their tongues swirled around each other, and fought for dominance. They didnt care if anyone even saw them - they were busy making up for lost time. Both panted heavily when Josh broke the kiss just to plant kisses on her cheek and trailed down to her neck, removing her crimson scarf in the process. Josh put his lips back on Sam’s while backing her into a wall and slid a hand under her shirt. Sam gasped at the sudden sensation of his fingers on her stomach. His hand didn’t make it far because the two were interrupted by Em and Matt and quickly stopped when their voices were heard.
“Seriously man, are you trying to swallow her? Matt joked
“Ooh Sam since when do you go to the mall just to make out with your boyfriend?” Em added
The two instantly went red..
“Ugh our shopping bags are still at the food court!”
“Mattyyyy would you be a dear and get them for us please?”
“Fine.” “Then when we get home we can get warm?”
“We can get very warm.”
“You should go with him, Josh.” Sam uttered
“‘Yeahh.. I think I’ll pass Sammy.”
“C’mon Josh, do it for me.”
“You owe me another kiss if you want me to go.” He noted with a playful smirk
“Joshua.”
“Alright Alright I’m going.”
“ You and Em should wait for us in the Car!” He declared while tossing Em the keys

The group decided to head to Sam’s house as it was closest to the mall. The drive was extremely quick and they made it there in no time. Way better than walking outside in the fall weather. Sam unlocked the door and each of them scurried inside. Josh and Em wanted to watch a horor movie to which the other 2 reluctantly agreed. All 4 of them got comfy on the couch and switched on the tv. Sam sat in between Em and Josh and Matt was next to Josh. By the time the movie was over, Sam was fast asleep on Em, Matt was shaking in his boots, Josh’s stomach growled loudly, somehow it didn’t cause an earthquake, and Em was on her phone. Em put her phone done when she realized it was over, and gently kissed Sam’s head, put her phone down, and drifted off to sleep.
