Sushi Disconnection

Summary:

Zane and his friends - except for Zach luckily, all face what would be the worst case scenario of all time - food poisoning.

Either the food was undercooked or it wasn’t prepared properly, but needless to say Zach the tyrogue is not prepared for what was going to happen next, especially when he’s got not one but a few other sick friends around.

Work Text:

Zachary was the luckiest guy on earth, and being the fighting type anthro that he is, he was more than thankful to never catch such an awful sickness in months. Last time he gotten it was approximately almost a year ago, but he thanked the lord Arceus he never got it ever again.

It was a calm, sunny evening as Zachary himself was already trudging his way back to Antonio’s house after a small walk in order to make his calves muscular again - if that was obvious enough. Very recently he had gotten a trip to San Diego by his fitness instructor boss just a couple weeks ago, however the ticket never really specified his name or anything, but needless to say he was really lucky to end up being in the suburban neighborhood somewhere in the depths of San Diego. Flash had a lot of friends Kenji made in the past, so Zach had a few places to stay - that being Jasper and Aiden’s house, or Antonio and Eva’s house just a few miles away from each other. Zach chose to stay with Antonio because he hasn’t seen him before and he figured he needed some time to hang out with the shiny hawlucha man.

Just a day after Zach had spent the night at Antonio’s, there was another pokeanthro who had shown up, and that is none other than Zane - a muscular weavile with a big gut, plus a seriously big appetite.

Kenji had once met Zane when he first moved to Los Angeles but he hasn’t seen him in almost half a decade. To Zachary, he was lucky Zane appeared to be the friendliest of the group. Unfortunately for the weavile, the bedroom was only occupied to both lovebirds so Zane had to end up sleeping on the couch alongside Zach. The couch was already big enough as it is and both pokemon did managed to sleep through the night.

Being raised in a fish-occupied area, Zach loved, LOVED seafood, however he only preferred his food to be cooked. Most of his friends liked their sushi with raw fish, but for Zach he only preferred his food grilled to avoid any further consequences to his physical health. Zane on the other hand he never really cared if he had eaten raw fish. Raw salmon, it never hurt Zane at all, but it did leave a few mixed feelings towards Zach.

Tonight was the night he and Zane would end up at the sushi restaurant - or mostly named as “Sakura’s Sushi”. The said restaurant had gone through a few health violations in the past decade, however as the years passed the place ended up thriving safely than usual, but it wouldn’t be safe enough once they go through the worst case scenario ever known to mankind. To Zach, he was…kind of lucky..?

It wouldn’t be just the two guys at the restaurant, but there would be four of them instead, and that being Aiden and Jasper - gliscor and joltik duo and recent boyfriends to each other. Aiden had that small black beard on his chin the same as Zane did, and his hair appeared to be a little longer than the last time he showed up. Turns out Aiden has gone through a little change in himself. Jasper on the other hand looked slightly taller than Zach, and he looked a lot muscular than before.

Zach was eventually the first to order, that being a California roll order with a side of miso soup. Zane ordered the same thing, except the said rolls are replaced with a more rawer fish diet unlike a rainbow roll. Jasper and Aiden ordered a tray of spicy tuna rolls and a small tray of sashimi for the two to share, however Zach grew seriously concerned about their orders. Being the healthiest and average tyrogue that he is, Zach is prone to get sick whenever he eats fish that are undercooked. He had eaten what gotten him food poisoning not too long ago and needless to say it was torture.

Thirty minutes later, all of their orders were on their table, and the boys began to eat. Zach tasted the same exact flavor of the California rolls he had ordered, and it left a fresh fishy taste in his mouth, most likely a grilled crab taste than raw, and he was happy to eat them whenever he likes to. With the miso soup he had drank earlier, Zach could feel himself grow stuffed but he wasn’t giving up yet. There was a slight twinge of pain in his stomach, but it’s not because he was getting sick thankfully, but it was because of the lot of rolls Zach ate, and obviously they were digesting.

The first bite Zane had taken felt like heaven on his taste buds. He has gone through a cooked-fish diet before but he had never eaten anything raw until now. The fishy salmon taste, the sticky rice, and most importantly the soy sauce. It was like he was on a road trip to a sea of stars on a delightful evening. Aiden on the other hand felt mixed about the taste of fish. He had eaten fish before but never raw. Jasper however had eaten raw fish before and he had absolutely no problems with it…or at least until later on that same evening.

”Ya’ gonna try out that sashimi?” Zane asked to Zach as he turned to face him. “Pretty good!”

”Uhh- no thanks..” Zach, trying to ignore his disgust, replied softly. “Not really interested..”

”Don’t worry, the fish is washed out of the bat!”

“Zane, I don’t know if this is safe.” Zach spoke worriedly. “Sure it’s washed but did the cooks think they washed it good enough?”

”It’ll be fine, Zach.” Zane carefully argued back as he popped a small piece of raw tuna in his mouth. “It’s not like it has parasites or anything!”

Aiden remained silent as he too continued to eat his food, popping a small piece of raw salmon in his mouth.

“Y’know, this eatery’s got a bad rep back in my days.” Aiden said as he finished chewing. “But I’m surprised it improved.”

Just a few pieces in and the rest of the boys started to grow full and unable to finish their entire trays of food. Zane would be the first anthro to pay for the food, and so all of the boys make their leave.

”Are you sure you’re not feeling anything?” Zach asked much to his concern. He turned to face Zane who was making his way towards his car. He had used the same exact vehicle to drive himself over to San Diego, and needless to say the shiny tyrogue himself felt impressed. “If you’re feelin’ sick, you can remind me or Antonio.”

”Dude, I’ll be fine.” Zane snapped back as the smile remained on his face. “Quit worryin’ about me.”

”I mean, you could possibly get food poisoning from that fish though.”

As soon as Zach crawled inside the vehicle’s interior, he was met with a red and black decoration. On the interior’s mirror lies what looked like a chain with a falcon-shaped logo attached to it. The falcon had red and black colors all around it and it was shaped like the letter F. Turns out Zane is a diehard Atlanta Falcons fan. Zane was the last to step inside, and as he closed the door, first he starts up the engines. Upon starting up the vehicle, Zach was greeted with a surprisingly soft blast of music, playing a quiet song through the speakers. Zane must’ve turned it down when he and Zach first arrived there.

Aiden and Jasper eventually got in their own car and decided to head back home afterwards. It was yet another sports car but with a different design and a slightly newer interior. It looked a bit old so they might’ve gotten it half a decade ago.

Zane decided to take a quick stop at the gas station to grab something for himself, because both the hawlucha and talonflame duo had already gotten some groceries before the two boys have arrived. Much to Zach’s concern, Zane could feel a slight twinge of pain in his lower half, but he decided to shrug it off and pretend like it wasn’t a big deal. As soon as the two boys arrived at the gas station, Zane got up from his seat and went outside.

“Zane, are you sure you’re gonna be alright?” Zach asked worriedly. “I can see your face scrunchin’ up a bit.”

“I told you earlier, I’ll be fine.” Zane argued back. “It’s not like I get a wicked bad stomachache in the middle of nowhere.”

“Zane, I wasn’t trying to be mad or anything, I’m just concerned about your health.” Zach explained as he cleared his throat. “Look, eating raw fish when it’s not cleaned properly could make you be at risk of food poisoning.”

”Food poisoning, food schmoisoning. Like I said, I’ll be fine!”

And so Zane disappeared into the distance, leaving Zach all alone inside the car. For a few minutes the shiny anthropomorphic tyrogue began to worry about the weavile. Usually Zane would just be back in a couple of minutes, but now it looked like more than just two. It could be a sign Zane would eventually be the first to end up getting bad stomach pains, however as soon as Zach tries to get up, he notices the same exact weavile from earlier. The smile was still on his face and he had a small bottle of the iconic sports drink in his hand. It was also the blue kind - a very important flavor in order to cure not just a stomachache but dehydration as well.

”Huh, didn’t expect you to come back alive.” Zach noted as he watched the muscular weavile step inside the car. He could already hear his friend’s stomach starting to gurgle, but as he opened his mouth to talk, Zane cut him off before he could get another word out.

”Don’t mind me, I’m still hungry.”

Zach’s face twisted in irritation. “Y-You just ate a large fish platter! How are you still hungry?!”

”Dunno. Maybe that fish is telling me I need to eat more.” Zane chuckled nervously. He could already feel a slight stinging sensation in his stomach, and judging by the gurgling, Zane thinks he needed to eat more despite Zach telling him not to. “Maybe something sweet can help me out.”

”Or you can just take it easy on the food you ate.” Zach snapped back. “That fish could contain some parasites and I don’t know if the cooks washed them properly.”

”Sweets can help a parasite disappear!”

”No they don’t, Zane.” Zach growled. “It can make it even worse.”

At that time when both boys arrived home, Zane could still feel the same twinge of pain in his lower half, but he didn’t care less. Zach on the other hand felt more than concerned about the weavile’s health especially after the fish he had ate at the sushi restaurant earlier. When he and Zach went inside, Zane started to sweat a little, but he shrugged it off and pretended the AC wasn’t on.

”Damn, is it just me or is it hot in here?” Zane grunted as he wiped the sweat off his forehead. Zach only grumbled in response.

”Dude, this is the first sign you’re getting sick.” Zach growled. “According to—“

”Whatever you say, nerd..” Zane gave himself a hearty laugh as he walked into the kitchen to store the Gatorade bottle in the fridge, however Zach only stood there in both in a mixture of shock and irritation.

”The AC is still on, maybe you’re just getting these symptoms.”

Zane scoffed in response. “Symptoms are not turning on the AC when I first arrived here.”

”You weren’t even sweating when you got here!!” Zach yelled back. “I can barely see a single sweat drop on your fur when you showed up.”

Zane wanted to say something, but as soon as he opened his mouth to talk, nothing came out.

”That’s what I thought.” Zach spoke softly. “Look, I’m not trying to offend you or anything, I’m just worried about your health.”

”Yeah, right.” Zane grumbled.

And so Zach decided to step into the bathroom just a few steps away from Antonio’s bedroom. “I’m gonna go hop in the shower real quick. If you need to use the bathroom, there’s another one inside the gym room.”

Zane wasn’t sure what Zach had meant about the other bathroom in the spare room, but he decided to check it out for himself anyway. He got up from his chair and so he walked himself to the spare room. Upon entering, he was met with a lot of gym equipment, followed by a small television screen and a bench right next to a shelf where his friend’s workout DVDs were stored. Finally, he sees the first ever door, and as he opened it he was greeted with yet another bathroom. It was similar to the one Zach used to take a shower, but this one is a lot smaller and it didn’t have a shower nor a bathtub. It had a nice mesquite-like look to it, and the walls were plastered with a brick-like wall interior. The tile floor was also neatly clean too.

And so Zane finally stepped out of the spare room and headed back into the living room. For a few minutes Zane could feel the same exact twinge in his lower half, however he shrugged it off like it was no big deal. He wanted to grab something for himself, so he stepped foot into the kitchen and rummaged through the freezer only to find a big carton of ice cream sitting next to a pack of mixed vegetables. It was cherry garcia too - Antonio’s favorite flavor. He set the container down on the counter before grabbing himself a scooper and a bowl, then he opened the container and scooped himself a small ball-shaped piece of ice cream into the white porcelain bowl. Finally, he stored the ice cream back into the freezer and grabbed himself some chocolate sauce. He poured a dollop of said sauce on top of the cherry-flavored dessert, and as soon as he puts the sauce bottle back, Zane returns to the table with the chocolate-covered dessert in his hands. He went back to grab a spoon, and finally it was time to eat. Zane popped open the small spoonful of ice cream into his mouth, and as soon as he took a bite, the fresh, creamy, yet chocolatey flavor hit his taste buds, making him eat as much as possible. Sure it was a small portion, but he felt like he was already in heaven, and the mixture of cherries and chocolate followed by a hint of bitter sweetness hit him like a deer in the headlights.

As soon as Zane finished the bowl, he rinsed off the excess mess before setting the bowl back into the sink. He wiped off the excess chocolate sauce off his face with a paper towel before trudging himself back into the living room. As he sat down, Zane grabbed the remote off the coffee table and took a few minutes to scroll through the television channels that were on-air.

Meanwhile, Zach steps out of the bathroom wearing his sleepwear. His pants were a blue plaid color while his shirt is just a regular, black t-shirt, an xxl one meant for sleeping. Zach steps back into the living room and a relieved sigh escaped from his mouth as he collapsed back-first onto the black leather couch.

“Man, that shower was great, wasn’t it?” Zach sighed in relief. “Such a relief to take a shower that’s clean.”

Zane only remained silent as his eyes focused on the TV screen just several meters away from him.

“I’m figuring a small dessert might help.” Zach then got up from his seat and stepped foot into the kitchen. He was starting to get a craving for frozen fruit covered in chocolate - dark chocolate specifically. He was more than lucky to find out Eva had managed to buy not one but two bags of frozen chocolate-covered fruit stored in the freezer. As he rummaged through the freezer, he was met with the same exact bags from earlier - that being bananas covered in dark chocolate and blueberries covered in regular chocolate. He expected something different, but Zach didn’t care less and decided to go for the banana kind instead. Getting himself a small bowl, he poured a small amount of frozen fruit into the container before storing the bag back into the freezer. It was something Zach never had in a long time, and he was more than happy to finally try it again.

Zach decided to eat them at the table because he preferred to eat them at an appropriate spot and not on the couch. As he popped a frozen banana in his mouth, he was met with a mixture of dark chocolate and a tropical flavor, making Zach eat a few more of those. It was like when he was at the beach again, and he was served nothing but the said dessert over and over. Sure he didn’t want to eat too many of them, but it didn’t stop him from eating them anyway.

Meanwhile, Zane’s stomach started to gurgle again, and this time it left a twinge of pain in his middle. He began to rub his belly thinking it would cure the painful rumbling, however it did not do the trick at all. It just made it even worse.

Jeez, maybe that ice cream didn’t actually work after all..” Zane quietly spoke as he positioned himself. He was lying on his back with his legs slightly spread. His tail feathers started to wag, not because of happiness but because of the sheer pain in his stomach, and the amount of wagging tells him that he needed to use the bathroom immediately.

As soon as Zach finished eating, he noticed Zane in a different lying position on the couch. He wanted to ask what was wrong, but before he could get a word out, the muscular weavile man slowly got up from his seat. He was just a few steps away from the bathroom when all of the sudden Zane’s breathing started to grow quicker and his saliva thickened. His face had a slightly green blush around it and as soon as he walked to the door, his stomach cramped once more, and this time even worse than before. Zane started to groan profusely as Zach got up from his seat to walk towards his sick friend.

”You feelin’ okay, dude?” Zach asked as he watched the weavile man slowly open the door, yet the hybrid refused to answer. All he could let out was a pained moan that escaped from his throat. “You totally don’t look so good.

”M-Me? I-I’ll be…” Zane wanted to finish his sentence, but as soon as a sickly burp escaped from his mouth, the weavile man rushed inside the bathroom and slammed the door shut, leaving Zach standing in shock and in confusion.

Zach felt bad so he decided to step inside, but as he was about to open the door, a loud rush of sick echoed through the bathroom, causing the shiny tyrogue man to flinch. It sounded painful, and Zach felt extremely horrible for his friend, however he decided to at least come inside the bathroom anyway to check up on Zane.

”N-Nooo, don’t come in there..” Zane weakly groaned, followed by yet another sickly huff shortly after. “I’ll— ugh.. I’ll be fine!”

”Zane, I’m gonna come in there whatever you like it or not.” Zach then turned the doorknob over and he opens the door to find a sick Zane on his knees with his head just a few meters away from the toilet bowl. He also had a few droplets of sick on his face as well, but before Zach could get a rag out, Zane quickly wiped his face off before Zach could do so.

”S-See? I’m fine!” Zane weakly spoke, followed by a sickly groan. “I-I’m not si—UURGH!!“ He then threw his head back into the toilet bowl as another rush of sick was ejected into the toilet, causing Zach to flinch.

“Dude, you sound like shit..” Zach said worriedly. Before he could get a word out, he noticed a faint smell of cherries. That is when Zach soon realized Zane had eaten ice cream when the tyrogue told him not to.

ZANE! I thought I told you not to eat that!!”

”But..I thought something sweet would help me feel better..” Zane weakly spoke.

“Well obviously it made it worse. I told you not to eat it after you ate that raw fish from earlier and you didn’t listen to me!!” Zach argued back. “Now it smells like rotting ice cream!”

After a few minutes, the vomiting came to an end. Zane weakly moaned as he slowly got up and flushed the toilet. Tears were coming out of his eyes and his mouth was watering, not because he was hungry but because he was really sick. His saliva tasted sour and it nearly made him vomit again.

”Okay, dude— How about I give you some medicine and you can sleep on the couch tonight.” Zach suggested as he walked his now-weak weavile friend out of the bathroom. Zane only replied with a weak moan, but Zach decided to take it as a yes. As soon as both boys arrived back at the living room, Zach sets the sick weavile down on the couch and headed towards the kitchen to grab some stomach medicine from the cabinet. It was tall so Zach had to use a chair in order to reach it, and once he did, he sets the chair back to where it belongs and returned to the living room, a bottle of the pink medicine in his hand.

”This is what helps you cure that wicked stomach pain of yours.” Zach explained as he pulled the measuring cup out of the bottle’s cap. It was small and it had how much Zane needs before he could drink it. According to the labels, only people 30 and older can drink the entire measuring cup of medicine. Pouring the pink liquid into the cup, Zach then offers it to Zane. The smell was sickly sweet, but he started to wonder what it tasted like.

”You had this before, so it’s gonna taste weird.” Zach then set the cup onto Zane’s lips as the weavile proceeded to drink it. As soon as the medicine hit his taste buds, he was met with a sickly sweet yet very bitter taste, nearly making the muscular hybrid throw up, but he didn’t want to end up doing so on the couch, so he fought it off and drank a mouthful of the medicine Zach gave him.

Next he feels Zane’s forehead, and it felt even warmer than before. “Damn, must be a sign you got food poisoning.”

”How did you even know I got it?” Zane weakly asked.

“Judging how hot you feel, you must’ve gotten food poisoning from the sushi you ate earlier.” Zach replied in a serious tone. “That’s why I get concerned about you eating that stuff.”

Zane only gave Zach a weak groan.

”Right, from now on no more eating raw fish.”

”You’re not…my dad..” Zane groaned.

”But you’re my and Kenji’s friend too, so that’s why I gotta make sure you don’t end up dying.” Zach added in.

Zane took a few moments to figure out something to change the subject. He opened his mouth to talk and asked where Aiden and Jasper had gone off to. Zach turned around and started to ponder for a moment.

”That’s a good question, dude.” Zach spoke softly. “I wonder how Aiden and Jas are doin’..”

”For some reason, I’m feeling cold..”

It was something Aiden was going through. He didn’t actually feel sick nor felt a twinge of pain in his stomach, but he did actually feel a lot of chills through his skin.

Jasper unfortunately got the worse of it, that being chills through his spine and most commonly a huge stomachache. Thankfully he didn’t feel the urge to vomit, but it felt like he was about to pass out at any given moment now. His blood ran cold and his eyes were already flooded with tears.

”You’re lucky,” Jasper groaned as he too collapsed onto the couch back-first. He was lying on his back with his left arm clutching his stomach and the other on his head. His head was pounding and he was on the verge of losing blood. “If I were you, I’d be near a fireplace!”

”Thank god I never caught any of these symptoms.” Aiden snarled weakly, shivering from the cold. The AC was off, however Aiden still felt like he was freezing like a popsicle. “Thank god for being a poison type..”

Gliscors like Aiden never really have stomachaches nor do they get poisoned let alone feeling chills through their spines. Aiden could already feel his body temperature drop, there has to be something that could make him feel warm again, but how?

He remembered to take some stomach medicine when he first felt a slight twinge of pain through his stomach, and he thanked the lord he took it just in case. Jasper on the other hand, he felt like utter garbage and he looked like he was just about to pass out any moment by now.

Without any options left, Aiden despite the shivering, walked Jasper over to the bathroom. The gliscor man was already wearing one of his old hoodies alongside a pair of sweatpants, and it was already starting to get chilly anyway, but the fish was bad enough to send him chills inside his entire skin.

“Walkin’ you to the bathroom just in case you needed to throw up is a perfect idea.” Aiden spoke, his teeth clattering as he shivered from the cold.

Aiden turned away, thankfully he had the earmuffs in his hand, and they were soundproof so he didn’t have to hear the joltik’s awful retching in the toilet. Jasper suddenly slumped towards the toilet, and there came the silence - or what Aiden was hearing right now because he is wearing earmuffs around his large ears. To Jasper, it was painful, the amount of fish he ate sent a surge of pain in his stomach, not because he ate too much but because he might’ve thought the fish wasn’t prepared properly. As soon as the vomiting concluded, Aiden takes off his earmuffs and turns to face his spider mate.

”Reminder to take me to a doctor tomorrow..” Jasper groaned weakly, however Aiden wasn’t having it and he decided to try and call the doctor right away.

”No, Jas. I’m gonna take you to the emergency room right now.” Aiden spoke, his teeth chattering from the shivering he had gone through. Despite the biggest hoodie he was wearing, he still felt cold. “I can’t have you staying the night with some weird bellyache.”

”Do you think I have those weird bugs in me?” Jasper asked in shock.

“Maybe the doctor should know. I’m not a surgeon.” Aiden argued back. “Either way, I’m taking you to the emergency room right now.”

It was something Jasper had never been to in a long while, let alone getting some muscle cramps when he first visited the hospital, now he is making his second trip to the emergency room due to food poisoning. However he wouldn’t be prepared to find out who would be coming along as well.

Who knows who would be coming along..

By the time he and Jasper arrived at the emergency room, the joltik was left dead tired. He was already in the bathroom for at least several minutes, and during the car ride he had a paper bag just in case he ends up losing the rest of his dinner he ate. Thankfully it didn’t happen, however it felt like he was losing so much energy, and now the joltik himself was exhausted.

As soon as both men arrived at the lobby room, they were suddenly met with a familiar face. It was someone he and Jasper had met before, and that is none other than Zane himself, weakly trudging back to the exit with Zach carefully walking him.

”Wait— Zach? ZANE?!” Jasper gasped as he took notice of the weak weavile man being carefully walked by his tyrogue friend. “What are you two doing here?!”

”Zane and I went to the emergency room,” Zach started as he turned to face the weavile man, who was now dead-exhausted judging by the tired look on his face. “And he’s got some parasites in him, which caused him to get food poisoning.”

”Did the docs remove them?” Aiden asked.

”Well, the doctor did gave Zane some medicine that made the parasites dissolve upon consumption,” Zach then showed Aiden what looked like a bottle filled with an off-colored, pink liquid. “It’s similar to the stomach medicine he took but this one kills parasites.”

”What a lifesaver!” Aiden chuckled heartily.

“Yeah, but right now I need to take Zane back to Antonio’s. He’s exhausted.”

And so both Zane and the shiny anthro tyrogue both left the lobby, leaving the rest of the guys alone in the lobby room.

During their visit, Aiden had applied for a doctor’s appointment for Jasper, and one of the nurses had happily accepted his order, thus giving Jasper the appointment. Aiden would eventually be the next to be treated, however upon further inspection it was already confirmed that Aiden did get food poisoning, however there aren’t really any parasites inside him and he wasn’t showing any symptoms at all, thus making this gliscor man nearly-lucky. The only symptoms he got were chills and sweating, but he was only given a pill that would treat food poisoning.

For Aiden, his own appointment appeared to be a lot quicker than Jasper’s, however the joltik’s appointment was longer, so Aiden had to end up at the lobby room sitting on one of the chairs as he spends his time reading through daily magazines.

Zane suffered worse than Jasper, but thanks to the antidote his nurse gave him, the parasites were killed instantly and just almost ten minutes later, he and Zach left the emergency room with no problems, let alone sheer exhaustion and loss of speech, however Zane was lucky the antidote had existed and he was lucky to take it before the symptoms got worse. He was showing his first sign such as slight stomach pain, but he shrugged it off at first, but a few hours later it got even worse. Even the over-the-counter medicine did not help at all.

Just a few minutes turned into almost ten, Jasper leaves the office still-tired yet walking normally than expected. He was also seen carrying the same exact bottle Zane had in his hand.

“That was fast..” Aiden despite the shivering, spoke to Jasper out of surprise.

“Y-Yeah, kinda..” Jasper moaned weakly as he say back down. “That pain was so tough to deal with, wasn’t it?”

”I know, right?” Aiden then got up from his chair, Jasper was the next and last pokeanthro to get up. “Maybe next time we’re gonna have to order cooked food.”

“Well, I hope that sushi place reconsiders giving us that fish.” Jasper groaned as he followed Aiden in his footsteps, thus both boys eventually left the hospital and they were now making their way back to their vehicle. “I don’t get how some people manage to survive eating raw fish scott-free.”

”Maybe they’re lucky.” Aiden shrugged. “Or they’re just water-types. They’re immune to raw fish.”

And it was confirmed that the rest of the few guys vowed to never eat raw fish unless prepared properly ever again, or at least until the restaurant starts doing their job again.

Zane slowly opened his eyes only to feel his muscles moving like normal again. He got up and looked around to scan the room, and he suddenly remembered he was already sleeping on the couch somewhere in the living room. His eyes averted to the table, then he noticed a smell of fresh breakfast cooking in the kitchen. It had a very pleasant smell, however the smell of it only made Zane reconsider eating this morning.

”Ay, glad you’re awake.” Zane then turned to face what looked like that same hawlucha man from last night. In the kitchen lies Antonio, his black and red feathers in view, and he was seen wearing his sleepwear - the usual black tank top and pajama pants. “That was pretty scary, wasn’t it?”

”Scary? What’s so scary about it?” Zane at first didn’t remember what happened last night, however as his brain had time to register what was going on, he suddenly remembered he had just gotten food poisoning from that following night. “Oh, right.”

”Well, I’m lucky you didn’t actually die from it.” Antonio spoke as he slid the plate onto the table. “I’ve made breakfast, chico—“

After previous events, this made Zane nearly gag. He clutched his mouth shut as the weavile man looked away. “URRGH— Don’t talk about food!!

So the hawlucha man let out a sad sigh. “Well, maybe I’ll let you wait a bit until you’re ready to eat. You’re probably too sick to be eating anything anyway.”

”As..if..” Zane moaned weakly as he collapsed back onto the couch. “Remind me to not go to that fuckin’ sushi place again, or at least until they get their shit together..”

Antonio nodded and proceeded to store the rest of Zane’s untouched breakfast back into the fridge. “I’ll keep it in the fridge just in case you feel hungry,” He then walked back towards the still motionless Zane on the couch. “And if you do it’s right next to the soda cans.”

”Don’t mention soda either..” Zane groaned. “Give me the blue Gatorade from last night and everything should be fine.”

”You just chugged the entire thing last night when you and Zach got home, no?” Antonio chuckled as he got up. Zane then shook his head as he remembered he had drank the entire bottle just mere moments as he and his tyrogue friend arrived back home. “I’ll be at my gym if you need me.”

“Aight, I’ll be on your couch sleepin’ like a baby sneasel..” Zane yawned. Antonio only giggled softly after that response, and so the shiny hawlucha man made his leave, leaving the motionless weavile on the couch, eyes slowly closing before he proceeded to drift off to sleep.

Upon recent news Sakura’s Sushi was temporarily closed due to a recent outbreak of food poisoning just the night before. If it wasn’t handled properly, the entire sushi restaurant would’ve been shut down permanently by the health agencies. To make matters even worse, even the reviews itself were bad on the Yampler reviewer app. Just a few days after further investigation, it was confirmed there are indeed parasites inside the food and thus the entire restaurant was shut down, this time permanently and about to be replaced with an ice cream parlor.

To Zach, he was kind of happy the place got shut down. During his first visit in years, the shiny tyrogue felt concerned about the restaurant’s current health code violations, and much to his dismay his concerns predicted the shutdown of the said eatery. If it wasn’t taken care of, Zane and the others would’ve suffered some even serious conditions, or even worse death.

From now on, Zach promised to never go to any restaurant that is low-started again, especially if the reviews are this bad on Yampler.
