"Marc, congratulations! You've won the MotoGP Hottie Poll."
"The what?" said Marc, confused. He looked around at the media room. "Is this something DAZN España was running?"
"No, just some fans online."
MotoGP hottie poll, Marc mouthed to himself blankly (the interviewer sympathized. Before today, he had never encountered this combination of words either, not in Catalan, Spanish, Italian, or English) until realization dawned.
"I'm very flattered! It is an honor to know that I am considered the hottest out of everyone who was on pole this year."
The interviewer began, "It wasn't that kind of pole—"
"Wait," said Marc suddenly. "Is there a prize?"
"This was a poll, P-O-L-L. It had nothing to do with poles, P-O-L-E —"
Marc relaxed as soon as he heard nothing to do with poles, though his smile was still noticeably strained. "Thank you to all my fans for their support, I really appreciate it!"
The racer speedily exited the media room, pursued by either the discussion of English homophones, or the idea that he might win a reward from a competition involving any kind of poll/pole.
The interviewer shook his head.
"... I still think I should have won, by definition," muttered Pol Espargaró.
