#LaNoriadeLorenzo

Summary:

"You were using me as a pawn in your schemes with the media," said Valentino.

Notes:

Never forget the video that Jorge Lorenzo posted from the 2025 MotoGP Hall of Fame gala with Valentino Rossi shit-talking "Márquez" to Dani Pedrosa about an incident from 2013, and Jorge Lorenzo's very dramatic Instagram post about his Ferris wheel (Tumblr, Spanish news article).

I don't think #LaNoriadeLorenzo was used anywhere outside of this tweet, but fun fact! Spanish seems to be the only language out of Spanish / Italian / English that has a one-word term for "Ferris wheel" (ES noria vs IT ruota panoromica, EN (UK) big wheel).

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Valentino hissed, “I know what you were doing.”

“… what,” said Jorge.

"You used me," said Valentino furiously. "You were using me as a pawn in your schemes with the media! You posted that video of me at the gala to get more people thinking about you, just so more people would see your exposé about your Ferris wheel."

"You're accusing me of manipulating the media for my own purposes?” said Jorge.

“Eh, I suppose fair is fair.” Valentino shrugged. “Of course I was the best person for this.”

Valentino’s anger disappeared as quickly as it appeared, and now he actually looked flattered. Typical Valentino when dealing with anyone not named Márquez. Jorge had to admire his ability to selectively create his own reality.

“Allora, let me see what you posted on Instagram… What’s all this about a terrible experience and the injustices I am suffering? Why do you need to protect yourself and the public from a Ferris wheel?”

“You can watch my interview to find out.”

Valentino shook his head. “Don't you think this statement was a little overdramatic? Nobody will take you seriously.”

"Yes," said Jorge, "because you're definitely the person to talk about reasonable and proportional responses."

Notes:

Sadly I couldn't figure out how to incorporate a joke about Jorge Lorenzo being on Spanish The Masked Singer, but that also happened.
