Work Text:

The sound of the rain hitting the window grew louder inside the small apartment. Koi started to unravel the curtains and blinds, now shielding the glass windows. Occasionally wiping near the windows from some leakage.

Francis locked all the windows to insure they wouldn't open. Calling over Koi if something was needed. Just helping on securing their apartment.

A thunderstorm was approaching, and it was gonna be heavy too.

After preparing everything, both Koi and Francis slacked onto the couch. Resting from all the work they'd had to do.

[Previously that day, around morning]

A thunderstorm warning, just GREAT.

Koi had to wake up extra early to start securing their shop, and thanks to whatever's above Francis decided to help a little. The process wasn't as long with Francis around helping, it felt relieving to know he wasn't alone in all this. They closed the shop and made sure everything was packed nicely and no leakage could accour.

Thankfully enough both Francis and Koi agreed on staying together in the apartment, maybe it was gonna be too rough to be sleeping on the roof, eh Francis?

The lights flickered, once.. Twice. Then the third they didn't come back on. The electricity went off, just great..

Koi and Francis stayed close to each other, humbled up together on the only available bed in that apartment, Koi's. Which luckily was big enough for both to have enough space for themselves, but either way ended up close.

They both layed back on the bed, Francis being in a half asleep state on the bed, laying on his side. Wearing a more comfortable clothing, which was gifted from koi..

Damn, he really owed a lot to that fish huh?

.

Koi just stared in awe, laying on his back, head tilted to the side to glance at Francis. They layed besides him, not talking or saying anything at all. The sound of the rain pounding and ice hitting the glass filling the empty background noise.

They both layed motionless before Francis slightly shivered at the cold air, damn, the heaters couldn't work.. Well, it wasn't the worse but the air was cold.

Koi took notice immediately, but didn't act instantly, instead he'd just turn on their side too, then being the first to take action, moving closer to an open embrace for Francis to accept, which he unhesitatingly does.

Koi hurried his face in the crook of his neck, snuggling closer to feel warmer. Even if he had scales, the flesh still held temperature, which was great for Francis as it brought him more comfort in the chilly night air.

Koi held slightly tighter onto him, testing the waters first, not wanting to make the other uncomfortable. But as soon as no hints were shown, he just went for it. Snuggling and holding Francis close to him. Seeking for more body warmth, as soon as Francis reciprocated the act they immediately melted into the touch, leaning and savoring every second of it. Holding onto dear life not wanting to let go

And Francis? He wasn't bothered. He just held them.  He felt a tingle as he felt Koi's breath on his neck, he'd slightly shift, the other immediately changing position, now clearly facing him.

They'd just stare at first before leaning in, and pressing his forehead to the other. Staring at the abyss of the other's eyes, those red and.. Blue? Green? They couldn't exactly tell but.. It felt like an abyss who'd swallow him whole.

Francis leaned back into the touch, reluctantly, pressing further. Staring into Koi's eyes.

He saw a sparkle in them fade, like they knew something he didn't.

Like they knew that he didn't know. Remember.
