Chapter Text
Saparata sat alongside Fluixon as a wine glass danced in the palm of his hands. They were celebrating the completion of his vacation home after days of work. Saparata looked toward Fluixon, whose cheeks now looked rosy from alcohol.
"You already drunk dude?" Saparata asked as a faint laugh escaped his lips, Fluixon turned towards him and frowned.
"I am not drunk. Perhaps just a little tipsy," he hiccuped annoyedly as he failed to get closer to Saparata.
"Whatever you say," he said, rolling his eyes as a smile painted across his lips.
Fluixon always told everyone that he had a high tolerance for alcohol. That it never really bothered him enough to get drunk, but that only made Saparata realize nobody had ever even seen Fluixon drink, and now he realized why.
"Hey, Saps," Fluixon said as he looked up at him, his raven hair disheveled, lying flat stuck to his forehead as a few strands strayed loose as Saparata focused on his eyes. His usual confident and secretive eyes that shone like amythests under sunlight now looked raw with pure emotion and something he couldn't name, something that scared Saparata yet drove him in further as he continued to stare deeply, being unable to look away as he got lost in them.
Saparata eventually broke this strange eye contact as he remembered Fluxion had asked him something.
"Yeah?" Saparata responded, his voice still carrying confusion as he watched Fluixon put a hand on his shoulder. Instinctively, it made him jump out of suddenness, despite Fluixon doing this to him thousands of times before. But Saparata couldn't complain much as he found the touch to be genuine, sweet. He almost instantly melted into the touch as he desperately tried to avoid his gaze.
"I had this plan right?" Fluixon giggled as he used his free hand to put on his forehead. Saparata continued to listen, unsure of what he was even talking about.
"T-That we were gonna use you as a scapegoat and frame you for killing all the leaders at the meeting" Saparata looked at him as he leaned away, despite desperately not wanting to. He now realized that Fluixon wasn't spitting out utter nonsense.
"What?" Fluixon asked hazily as he wondered why Saparata moved away.
"You're not seriously,"
"I'm seriously all right," Saparata frowned at this as he realized talking to Fluixon about this anymore while drunk was useless.
"You're a drunk idiot," Saparata said as he stood up straight to look down upon him. In a heap of drunkenness, or simply the fact that he wanted to be closer, He stood up as he neared himself to Saparata as their eyes met and their chests touched.
"I'm a drunk idiot that you like having around," Saparata's cheeks flushed as he quickly looked away, moving himself farther as he felt his face burn.
"Let's get you to bed,"
"I'm not tired,"
"To bed,"
And now, Saparata was practically dragging a drunken Fluixon to his bed as he continued to complain that he didn't need any sleep. By the time they made it to his bedroom all the strength that Fluixon once had was now gone as he now lay limp against Saparata.
"So much for not needing any sleep," Saparata softly teased as he gave a glance to Fluixon who he was halfway convinced was already asleep.
"Whatever," Fluixon mumbled out, his eyes flickering open as they closed once again.
Saparata laid him tenderly in his bed and tucked him in while he began to make his way toward the couch.
"You're not gonna leave me here alone right?" Fluixon pouted as he turned over on his side to meet Saparata's eyes.
"You don't expect me to sleep with you do you?"
"It's your bed after all,"
It was tempting. And Saparata, despite not drinking as much alcohol as Fluixon, was beginning to feel tired himself, and part of him wanted to cuddle up next to Fluixon. Just to make sure he's okay. Yeah, that was it, that's why he wanted to stay.
"Only to make sure you don't do anything stupid," Saparata excused, sighing while he returned to the bedroom. He saw Fluixon cuddled up on the right side of his bed as a smile painted across his lips while his eyes were fully shut.
"I knew you couldn't say no to me," he teased as he slightly opened his eyes to give a quick glance at Saparata.
"Whatever," he said as he got into the bed beside him.
Almost instantly, he felt Fluixon cuddle up next to him. And despite how much it should have shocked him, he instead welcomed it as his mind began to wander about what he had said earlier. He planned to use him as a scapegoat? And blame him for killing the other island leaders? Would the same Fluixon who now cuddled up tight against him really do that?
He knew he'd have to question Fluixon about it tomorrow. When he wasn't drunk enough to stupidly reveal his plans and cuddle up to his best friend without a second thought.
"You're something," he whispered to Fluixon as he moved his dark hair away from his face.
