Power down

Summary:

Seraï miscalculated how much power she had left

Notes:

This is before they ever met the main SoS gang

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

They had taken up a room in the tavern. Seraï was doing her best to stay up with the others who were chatting and laughing. However she knew she was running low on power, she thought she had enough to keep herself up for longer and didn't ‘eat’ anything to replenish it.

Her hat sat on the desk where she was sitting. Her arm resting on the back of the chair and head resting on top of it. Had her cheeks not been made of metal they would have been squished making the mask she wore shift. However they were metal and the mask would be pushed further up if anything.

She tried her best to follow what her crew were saying. Something about a sea monster they fought once. Seraï wasn't sure which one.

It didn't take long for her to feel the warning her systems made.

5% left. She shook her head.

2% she rubbed her eyelids that were growing heavy.

1% she was out cold. Her systems forced her into stasis to protect the emergency power source. It would only allow her to wake when it felt sunlight, due to her back up battery being produced from sunlight. A new addition she made when she found this world had it.

-----------------------

“Look at the lass.” Yolande cooed. “She didn't even drink anything yet she's out cold!”

“She's always had a weird sleep schedule.” Valtraid hums. “Can't say it isn't adorable when she passes out!”

Keenathan hummed and picked her up. “Should probably get her on a proper bed so her neck doesn't hurt in the morning.” She was still, almost to the point where she felt like a corpse. She was also cold but they all knew her skin was almost always cold anyway.

Yolande managed to remove Kleë-shaës coat and place it on the chair.they debated on taking off the masks or gloves but decided against it due to Kleë-shaë strongly disliking anyone ever touching those parts.

“She's adorable.” Keenathen hummed. “Always so guarded but every once in a while we see this side.” He sighed. “I wish she trusted us enough to let us see it more often.”

“The lass has been through a lot. She trusts us, but just like anyone, she's afraid of what could happen if she lets her guard down.” Yoland hummed. “The best we can do is give her time. She'll come around.”

Notes:

I like the idea of seraï powering down at times to save energy
