Work Text:

Seraï snuck back into the campsite she and her crew used. She had just gone for a trip to her world for an update. Cedric had believed he could simulate the feeling of touch.

It somewhat worked. She didn't just feel pressure anymore, but it was overstimulating. She laid down on her bed roll and tried her best to fall asleep.

Seraï was awake all night. The feeling of the ground touching her, and her being able to ‘feel’ it, kept her awake.

When the others woke up she pretended to wake up around the same time.

And that's when that happened. She reached a hand down to assist Keenethan up. But the second her hand touched actual skin she yanked it away.

“Kleë-shaë? Ya good?” He asked while valtride helped him up.

“Yeah ya ain't normally this lass.” yolande hummed with concern.

Seraï however was staring down at her hand before shaking her hand and head. The feeling she had was so similar to a burn except it died down slowly, not all at once.

“Mhm I’m Fine.” she grumbled, turning away.
They obviously didn't believe her but they didn't press it further. For that she was thankful. After all, she had no idea how to explain this to them.

Cedric needs to fix this. It's probably the system going haywire after all the extra stimulation.

She continued to debate this idea inside her head. Trying to figure out what exactly happened and why adjusting to being able to feel again was so hard.

Eventually they did make it back to brisk. Seraï was completely unaware of the worried glances of her companions. She was still caught up in her thoughts, trying to mentally pinpoint the issue.

“Kleë-shaë, how about we get to the tavern huh?” Yolande hummed and placed a hand on the much smaller girl's shoulder. Who squirms out from the touch making a pained sound.

“What's wrong lass…?” Yolande had been with Kleë-shaë the longest, and the only time she ever acted even remotely similar was when they barely knew each other.

“I…” I can feel again! But it hurts! It hurts so badly! I hate it but I want to be normal! “I don't know…” seraï looked away free hand turning into a fist.

“Kleë-shaë… if something is wrong, please just let us help.” Keenathen spoke softly. Concerned.

“I don't know what's wrong I just… I just need to be alone right now!”

Keenathen was about to push further when Valtriad stopped him. “give her some space."

Notes:

Am I the only one who thinks seraïs gotta be a little autistic? I mean my girl made very obvious alter egos and had no idea that everyone knew who she was already.
