Please convey my regards to the financial department—we are getting uniquely acquainted these days. I hoped for their continued understanding of my expenses, given the importance and danger of this mission, but I understand and appreciate their need for explanation.
Below, you will find my expense list and reasons for purchase. Please feel free to request elaboration, but I trust that you will find this sufficient.
Expense 1: Two (2) evening gowns (classic sweetheart neckline in deep blue with silver embroidery; burgundy A-line with a slit and open back) - 300 dalc
Part of my reconnaissance involved infiltrating three balls, and Yor Briar did not possess more than one formal dress, which had already been seen. Maintaining our facade as an upper-class couple required purchases of high-quality evening gowns, and we ensured to pick the most flattering ones. She looked absolutely lovely, as the mission required.
Expense 2: One gaudy gift shop t-shirt - 20 dalc
This shirt was suggested to me by the gift shop owner as an essential souvenir for the zoo that we visited on day two of the trip. He was likely exaggerating to make a sale, but I decided that the more we fit in, the better. It also had the added benefit of making Anya and Yor laugh.
Expense 3: One black tank top - 5 dalc
When we went to the beach on day three of the trip, I found that it was inadequate to wear any of the shirts I had brought along—in this weather, after months of cold, few were wearing clothing at all. Again, to fit in, I decided to purchase this top. I believe Yor greatly approved of my ability to adapt to the environment—she kept looking at me and away, perhaps to ensure that we did not look out of place. I was pleased to note that I also matched her black bathing suit—which fit her very well—in a fashion appropriate for couples. Finally, the tank top was easy to move in and was dark enough to hide blood. This was helpful when we came across a weapons dealer conducting a trade on a private section of the beach (see section 3.ii.a of the report for details).
Expense 4: A limited edition Spy Wars building blocks set - 200 dalc
In the aforementioned mission in which I intercepted the weapons dealer on the beach, Anya was an unwitting but crucial distraction. Somehow, she caught the dealers’ attention by screaming about being bitten by a crab, only moments before I was about to be discovered by a traitor to our organization (please see Section 4 for details about this former agent’s capture). She also learned how to hold her breath for almost a minute on this trip, and she’s making great strides in learning to swim! In order to sufficiently reward her accomplishments and keep her engaged in the mission, I opted to buy her this set. I can only hope I didn’t err in doing so—I sense that getting her to do her homework will be an even greater challenge now.
