Chapter Text

“It's-.. It's all.. your fault…”

The last thing Daeho said was this. Or maybe it wasn't, but it was the last thing Gihun heard from the body under him. He only realized what he did when the man stopped moving, stopped trying to hold onto the hands that took the life from his lungs, that's when Gihun realized what he had done. He.. killed someone.

Someone that trusted him. Someone that loved him.

Someone that had a family, maybe had plans for the future. Someone that had a life.

Someone that.. wanted to live.

Gihun knew that, because Daeho told him multiple times how he wanted to get out of this place, after the second round, he only voted to leave even though the money wasn't enough to pay his debts. Maybe it was because he wanted the others to get out too.

Gihun shook his head, blinked a few times. He was just looking down, the grip of his hands loosened. “No..” He heard someone say, not realizing he was the one talking. He moved his hands down to Daeho's chest, and started to shake him. Maybe-

“Wake up..”

He wasn't crying. Daeho wouldn't die this easily, right?

“You're strong.. You-” Daeho hasn't moved, he didn't say anything. His eyes were open, his lips were slightly purple, and his neck was red. Blood was coming out of his mouth. A tear from Gihun's eyes fell to his bloody tracksuit.

Player 388, eliminated. Player 456, passed.’

That's when Gihun also stopped moving. He let the tears fall as freely as they would. He knew he had no right to regret his actions after all he thought about for the past day was to kill him, now that he did..

It didn't do anything to his advantage, it only made him feel worse. It didn't bring back Jungbae or Youngil, no, he knew they wouldn't. So why..?

He backed up, leaving the younger man's lifeless body just laying there, he couldn't look at him, not- not like that.. He just looked forward, he couldn't see anything, he only felt pain. He remembered Daeho's words.

Another tear fell from his eyes. “.. It's all my fault..” Daeho was right. The pain was too much to bear.

Without taking his eyes off from the mural he was looking at, he raised the knife he didn't use to his neck, and dropped it immediately after. Before he could understand what was going on, he felt -now a physical- pain in his head, and blacked out.

.. For a moment before he did, he almost thought the dead body on the ground stood up to walk towards him..

Notes:

I'm obsessed with Kang Daeho.

I've had this idea in my head since I've watched season 3 (which SUCKED by the way) and I think it would make everything genuinely better. I'm so tired of my favorite characters dying and just being forgotten.. he was their friend!! (I have a lot to say about Daeho and season 3 but SIGH) I lowk suck at writing but I haven't seen anyone else do it so..

anyways, they should've kissed instead.
