Chapter Text

It had been a good couple of months since the Smiling Critters went on their last adventure together. They had all went on a bunch of eventful adventures together, whether it was trying to find their way out of a desert, stepping into their imaginations to defeat a made up dragon, entering the dream of one of their friends, or even saving their home from an evil bigger body version of said friend.

After all that the Smiling Critters had been through, they were relieved to finally have a break for a change. With no more adventures to go on, the Smiling Critters spent time together by playing games together and spending time at each others homes. Despite the dangers they faced before, they would be lying if they didn’t say that they kind of missed the adventures they had together.

Their peaceful days went on as the sun rose over the village once again. As the light of the sun entered DogDay’s house, the leader of the Smiling Critters slept peacefully in his bed without a care in the world. Little did DogDay know that a long purple tail was hanging inches above his face. The tail slowly descended down on him before it began tickling DogDay’s nose. The orange dog felt his face scrunch up before he felt the urge to sneeze.

“Ah! Ah! Achoo!”

The sneeze startled DogDay awake, leaving him wondering what just happened. The next thing he knew, he found himself face to face with a familiar purple cat.

“Good morning, Sunshine!” CatNap playfully teased his friend.

With an amused grin, DogDay brushed CatNap’s tail to the side with his paw.

“CatNap, what are you doing in my room?” DogDay asked.

“Just thought I’d help wake you up so you won’t miss out on a fun day with our friends!” CatNap replied.

DogDay gave an amused chuckle before he stood up from his bed. “You know that making sure that our friends are awake for the day is my job, right?”

“Well, you aren’t exactly doing a good job of it, as of late. You seemed to have been getting up late for the past few days.” CatNap explained.

Thinking back, DogDay knew that CatNap was right. Ever since he and his friends have been taking a break from adventures, they haven’t been doing much lately other than their usual activities.

“Anyway, perhaps it’s time we should meet our friends at our usual spot.” CatNap suggested.

“Alright! Just let me get through my morning activities real quick.” DogDay replied before leaving the room to eat his breakfast.

After finishing his activities, DogDay left his house to meet up with his friends. As DogDay met up with his friends, they all participated in their usual activities. Kickin and Hoppy were competing in a game of soccer, Picky was eating a bunch of snacks she brought for the hang out, Bubba was looking over some blueprints for his latest invention, CatNap was resting on a nearby tree branch, and Bobby was picking up flowers to show her love for her friends.

One by one, Bobby handed a flower to each of her friends until Kickin and Hoppy were the last of her friends to give flowers to. While Kickin and Hoppy took a break from their game, Bobby approached Hoppy with a nervous smile.

“Excuse me, Hoppy.” Bobby got Hoppy’s attention. “I just wanted to give you this bouquet of flowers I got for you.”

As she took notice of the bouquet, Hoppy noticed that the flowers consisted of red and green colored flowers.

“Hey, thanks, Bobby! These are pretty cool!” Hoppy gratefully accepted the flowers as she took a closer look. “I like the red and green flowers. Is it some kind of theme?”

With a blush, Bobby replied. “Oh, no. I just thought it would be nice. No need to think too much about it!”

“Well, if Hoppy’s flowers are that cool, I’m sure you went all out for me. Right, Bobby?” Kickin asked.

In response, Bobby awkwardly scratched the back of her head.

“Uh, of course! Here’s a single yellow flower to brighten up your day!”

At that moment, Bobby handed a yellow flower to Kickin, much to his annoyance. While Hoppy got the amazing bouquet, he was stuck with one lousy flower.

“A single flower. Gee. How generous of you!” Kickin retorted.

Despite all the fun everyone was having, DogDay couldn’t help but notice that Crafty didn’t show up yet. This started to worry DogDay since it wasn’t like Crafty to be late for one of their hang outs. Just when he was thinking about searching for Crafty, DogDay took notice of his unicorn friend in the distance.

“Everyone! Please listen! I have something to tell you!” Crafty waved her hooves in the air to get her friends’ attention.

Much to the surprise of the Smiling Critters, Crafty appeared to be really excited about the news she was about to give. They had never seen her so excited before since they were used to seeing her being the shy and quiet one, so they just knew that whatever Crafty wanted to tell them had to be something big. By the time Crafty made it to the hang out spot, she started to get tired as she panted from exhaustion.

“I-I h-have big n-news.” Crafty panted.

“Whoa! Just take it easy, Crafty!” Bubba stepped forward to make sure Crafty didn’t overwhelm herself. “Now, just take deep breaths and take a moment to relax.”

With a nod, the unicorn did what Bubba said and tried to calm down. After a couple of deep breaths, Crafty was finally about to relax.

“Good! Now, what is it that you want to tell us?” Bubba asked.

“It’s my girlfriend, Lily Fox! She’s moving in and becoming a permanent resident of our village!” Crafty exclaimed.

Upon hearing the news, the Smiling Critters now understood why Crafty was so excited. The Smiling Critters hadn’t seen Lily since they first met her during her last visit. It was going to be so exciting to see her again after so long.

“Wow! Lily is back? That’s amazing!” Picky exclaimed.

“I know! It has been so long since we saw her! We have to go see her! Then I’ll give her the biggest welcome back hug ever!” Bobby replied.

“And I’ve been dying to get her back for using my own water balloon prank against me.” Kickin commented.

“Well, we wouldn’t want to keep Lily waiting. Come on, everyone! Let’s officially welcome her to the village!” DogDay exclaimed.

With that, Crafty led her friends to where Lily wanted to meet them at. They all knew how much this meant to Crafty. After being separated from her girlfriend for so long, the Smiling Critters were happy that Crafty would now be able to spend as much time with Lily as she wanted.

As Crafty led her friends through the grass fields, they all took notice of their fox friend, who stood outside of a nearby treehouse. This left the Smiling Critters impressed as they could only assume that the treehouse was Lily’s new house. The Smiling Critters got over their surprise long enough to meet up with Lily.

“Hi, Lily! It’s been awhile!” DogDay greeted Lily.

Upon hearing a familiar voice, Lily turned around and greeted DogDay with a smile. “DogDay!”

Happy to see Crafty’s friends again, Lily ran towards the Smiling Critters to catch up with them. Hugs were exchanged as they all happily reunited.

“It’s great to see you guys again!” Lily smiled before being taken by surprise when Bobby embraced her in a tight hug.

“Oh, Lily! We’re all happy that you are finally moving in! We missed you so much!” Bobby exclaimed.

The fox gave a strained grin in response as she still wasn’t used to Bobby’s hugs. “Missed you too, Bobby! I see that your hugs are as tight as ever!”

The moment Bobby eventually let Lily go, Lily decided to greet Kickin last. The two of them were about to hug before Lily suddenly swiped a water balloon behind Kickin’s back before hitting him with it instead, leaving him soaked in water.

“Good to see you too, Kickin!” Lily greeted with a smirk.

“I see that you are as annoyingly clever as ever.” Kickin replied in an annoyed tone.

With everyone now reunited with Lily once again, they took a moment to admire Lily’s new home. The treehouse had everything from a tire swing to a telescope on the balcony.

Just looking at it gave them a sense of comfort. The inside of the house felt just as comforting. When Lily offered to show her friends around the inside of her house, they noticed a comfortable looking bed, along with a dresser with a photo of a young Lily Fox with her late parents, Finnegan and Fiona. As he looked around, CatNap could tell that Lily was going to like it in her new home.

“I must admit, this is an impressive home of your’s, Lily!” CatNap complimented.

“Thanks! I couldn’t have done it without Crafty, here! It was thanks to her that I was able to move in! She’s just sweet like that!” Lily playfully teased her girlfriend, causing Crafty to blush with a shy smile.

“Well, I hope she brought in some food for you to eat too! I just have to bake you some snacks to officially welcome you to our village!” Picky exclaimed.

Lily smiled as she liked the sound of that idea. “Sounds great, Picky! For now, I think I want to spend my first day taking a look around the village.”

“Great idea! Come on, Lily! Let us show you around! A lot has happened since your last visit!” DogDay replied.

With that, DogDay and the others showed Lily around town. Throughout the day, Lily had a fun time interacting with her friends and introducing herself to other critters.

It warmed DogDay’s heart to see Lily having a good time with everyone. He was so distracted, he didn’t notice when he bumped into someone. Upon taking a closer look, he realized that he bumped into a mysterious stranger, wrapped in a purple cloak. The stranger’s hood was up, so it was hard to see their face.

“Oops! Sorry about that! Didn’t see you there.” DogDay apologized.

At that moment, the mysterious figured stared at DogDay for a few moments in silence. This made DogDay feel a little awkward about the whole situation. He didn’t know whether to say something else or just leave the stranger alone. Things suddenly took an unexpected turn when the figured pointed at him and spoke.

“You there! Dog! This is a town filled with happiness, correct?” The stranger suddenly asked.

Surprised by the unexpected question, DogDay replied, “Uh, of course. You wouldn’t find a happier place than here! Let me introduce myself! My name is DogDay and I’m the leader of the Smiling Critters! Maybe you’ve heard of us.”

Suddenly, DogDay stopped talking when he noticed the stranger walking away without another word.

“Okay. That was weird.” DogDay commented.

It was at that moment when CatNap showed up, having witnessed the whole thing. He appeared to be just as confused about this new critter as DogDay was.

“So, who was your new friend?” CatNap asked.

DogDay merely shrugged in response. “I’m not sure. I didn’t get his name.”

A couple of hours went by when the Smiling Critters continued to give Lily her own personal tour around town. They continued to show her the sights of the village while Picky bought Lily snacks to eat. They all had so much fun, DogDay had long since forgotten about his strange encounter with the mysterious critter.

Before long, the sun started to set as the group of friends decided to take a break from their long day by sitting down at a couple of tables and benches. As everyone was having fun, DogDay took notice of Lily who sat on a nearby bench, happily enjoying the sunset. With a smile, DogDay sat down next to Lily.

“Enjoying your new home so far?” DogDay asked.

Lily smiled back before giving a nod. “I really am! I can see why you and the others love it here so much. It’s going to be really fun hanging out with you and the others more often.”

“Especially CraftyCorn, right?” DogDay playfully nudged Lily.

In response, Lily blushed with a shy smile at the thought of spending more time with her girlfriend. “Yes, especially with Crafty! Don’t get me wrong. I’m going to miss living in Foxville, but I think this might be good for me. I can see it as a new start for myself.”

“That’s the spirit! Lily, I promise this would be the perfect place for you to call home!”

Right as DogDay said that, a sudden light emitted the dark sky. This confused DogDay and the others as they had never seen anything like that before.

“Hey! That’s pretty cool!” Lily exclaimed. “DogDay, you never told me the village had a light show!”

“Uh, we don’t.” DogDay replied, unsure of what was going on.

Curious with what was going on, the Smiling Critters sat up as they decided to follow the source of light. This led them to a nearby crowd of critters. In all the years that they have lived here, the Smiling Critters have never seen so many critters in one spot before. They pushed their way through the crowd before taking notice of something DogDay immediately recognized.

Right in the center of the crowd stood the mysterious hooded figure DogDay spoke to not too long ago. Throughout the whispers and murmurs of the crowd, the stranger spoke up to get everyone’s attention.

“Critters of the village, bring me your attention! Today marks the beginning of a new era for your town!” The cloaked stranger announced.

Everyone looked at one another in confusion. None of them believe that they have ever met this mysterious critter before. Whoever he was, he seemed like bad news.

“Sorry, who are you?” A random squirrel critter in the crowd asked.

“I’m so glad that you asked!”

The figure pulled back his hood to reveal himself to be a goat critter. His fur was gray in color and had a pair of yellow horns on his head. Reaching into his purple cloak, he took out what appeared to be some kind of spell book.

“Allow me to introduce myself! I am Grayson, the most powerful, handsome, and spectacular wizard you would ever meet!” The goat named, Grayson introduced.

“And you guys call me egotistical?” Kickin whispered among his friends.

“I come from a kingdom filled with sadness and despair.” Grayson continued. “When I found out that there was a village of happiness, I knew that I had to pay all of you a visit and take over this place.”

“Take over?” DogDay repeated before stepping forward. “What are you talking about?”

It was at that moment when Grayson took notice of DogDay. He stared at the dog for a couple of moments before his eyes widened in recognition.

“Ah, yes! You’re that dog I spoke to earlier.” Grayson remembered. “You gave me a good bit of information about your home. Thanks for that, by the way!”

“I don’t understand. Why are you trying to take over our home? What do you hope to gain?” DogDay tried to make sense of this.

“You see, I have heard about the destruction that has been caused in this village not too long ago. Something about a monster attacking everyone.” Grayson recalled.

The mention of a monster brought chills to DogDay. He must have been referring to the time CatNap’s bigger body counterpart nearly destroyed the village. Ever since DogDay and the others managed to send Monster CatNap back to his own dimension, they hoped that their home wouldn’t deal with anymore disasters. With this new goat wizard around, it seemed that their peaceful days were coming to an end.

“Anyway, after hearing about the fear and sorrow going on, I thought this random nameless village would be the perfect place for me to conquer.” Grayson explained.

“Hey! Our village isn’t nameless! It’s called-“ Picky paused when she couldn’t even think of the name of her own home. “Hey, Bubba. What is the name of our home again?”

Bubba shrugged. “You got me. I don’t think we ever thought of a name.”

“Okay, well I’ll get back to you on that.” Picky told Grayson.

“It doesn’t matter.” DogDay interrupted. “Look, the disaster ended a long time ago! Monster CatNap is gone!”

With a sinister chuckle, Grayson opened his spell book and flipped the pages to a random spell.

“Oh, trust me! The disaster is only beginning!”

Turning around, Grayson brought his attention to a nearby building as a bright aura began to surround him. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning was fired from Grayson’s hoof towards the building, setting it on fire.

Seeing the destruction in front of them caused the critters to panic. They all ran away in fear as Grayson destroyed more and more of the village with his spells. Throughout the chaos, the Smiling Critters stood together so they wouldn’t get separated. Desperate, DogDay looked for a way to escape before noticing a clear path that wasn’t on fire.

“Everyone, quick! We can get to my house through here!”

Wasting no time, everyone ran through town to escape from the chaos. Right when DogDay was about to leave too, he took notice of CatNap, who was petrified with fear. Just staring at the flames brought back bad memories of the time his bigger body counterpart nearly destroyed the village.

With the destruction caused by Grayson only getting worse, DogDay ran towards CatNap as fast as he could. It was at that moment when DogDay shook CatNap out of his traumatized state to snap him out of it.

“CatNap, snap out of it! We have to leave, now!” DogDay urged.

CatNap blinked a couple of times before bringing his attention to DogDay. “R-Right. Let’s go.”

After escaping from the chaos, the Smiling Critters took shelter at DogDay’s house. They all turned on the tv to see an image of the entire town on fire. All of the citizens were either hiding or fleeing in terror from the evil goat wizard. This was Monster CatNap’s rampage all over again.

The raccoon reporter appeared on screen with a look of fear. He looked as though he didn’t even want to do the news report. Despite the terror he felt, he still continued on with the news report.

“T-T-Today, I am hear to report our village being under attack….again. This time it is caused by an evil goat wizard, who wants to rule over us all. Here to comment is said wizard.” The camera pans out to reveal Grayson standing next to the reporter this whole time. “N-Now, what do you plan to do with us, M-Mr. Grayson, or d-do you prefer Lord Grayson?” The raccoon reported stuttered, not wanting to get on Grayson’s bad side.

“Ooh! Lord Grayson! I love the sound of that!” Grayson commented. “To answer your question, I plan to rule over all of you with an iron hoof. From this moment on, you will all treat me as your king, and anyone who opposes me would end up with a lightning bolt to the face! I’d love to chat more, but I have a town to mold into my own personal image.”

With that, Grayson summoned a lightning bolt straight at the camera. With the signal cut, the screen of DogDay’s tv turned blank, leaving the Smiling Critters trying to comprehend what was happening to their home.

In the silence of the house, Crafty sniffed as she started to feel scared. After all the trouble she and her friends went through when dealing with Monster CatNap, she hoped their troubles were finally over.

“Oh, Lily! I’m so scared!” Crafty cried. “What are we going to do?”

In response, Lily wrapped her arms around Crafty in a comforting embrace. “Don’t be scared, Crafty. I’m here for you.”

“Well, we can’t just sit here and do nothing!” Hoppy spoke up. “We have to save our home!”

“You’re right!” Lily agreed as she continued to comfort Crafty. “I don’t know who this Grayson guy thinks he is, but he’s got another thing coming if he thinks I’m going to let him bully my friends like this!”

As everyone tried to think of a way to stop Grayson, Bubba kept his eyes closed with his arms crossed, as if deep in thought. Upon realizing how quiet Bubba was all of a sudden, Picky approached her friend to see if he thought of a plan.

“What is it, Bubba? Did you think of a way for us to stop Grayson?” Picky asked.

“I think so.” Bubba replied. “Has anyone noticed that Grayson never leaves his spell book out of his sight? That has to be the source of his powers. If we can get it away from him, we might have a chance to defeat him.”

“If it means we get to kick his butt, I’m all in for this plan!” Kickin agreed.

“So, it’s agreed! We just need to think of a way to take the book from him. What do you think, CatNap?” DogDay asked CatNap.

Instead of answering, CatNap simply stood in silence. In a brief moment, DogDay could have sworn he saw a shiver down CatNap’s spine. It was almost as if CatNap was afraid.

“CatNap? Are you okay?” DogDay asked.

“Yeah. You haven’t say a word since we got back.” Bobby pointed out.

CatNap looked up, giving eye contact towards his friends for the first time since they got here. “I-It’s nothing. I just need some alone time to clear my head.”

Without another word, CatNap left the living room. This left the Smiling Critters more worried for their friend than ever. DogDay knew that something was bothering CatNap and just had to find out what it was. He followed CatNap to the next room before calling out for him.

“CatNap, wait! Why are you so scared all of a sudden? This isn’t like you.”

Hearing DogDay’s voice stopped CatNap in his tracks. He turned to face DogDay before asking him an unexpected question.

“How much longer do you think we could keep doing this?” CatNap asked, leaving DogDay unsure of how to respond. “Our home is under attack once more. I thought we were safe after we banished my alternate counterpart.”

“I’m sure we’ll be safe again once we stop Grayson.” DogDay assured.

CatNap sighed. “You just don’t get it, DogDay. What if we are not able to succeed this time?”

“But we will succeed! Come on! We’ll save the day like we always do! Why are you so scared all of a sudden?”

In response, CatNap sadly looked away with his arms crossed. “I nearly lost you once to my bigger body counterpart. I can’t lose you again.”

Thinking back to the day Monster CatNap attacked, DogDay remembered the moment he nearly died. He remembered how worried all of his friends were when he spoke his last words to them. While DogDay still had nightmares of that moment, he had no idea that it affected CatNap this much as well.

Despite how scared CatNap was, DogDay couldn’t let Grayson get away with his plan.

“CatNap, I understand that you are scared, but if we don’t do something, more critters are going to get hurt. We have to stop Grayson, and we could really use your help.” DogDay explained.

Knowing that he wasn’t going to change DogDay’s mind, CatNap replied, “I’m not going to talk you out of this, am I?” to which DogDay shook his head. “Very well. I’ll do what I can to help. Just promise me you would be careful, alright?”

“I promise!” DogDay replied, giving a thumbs up.

Before long, the Smiling Critters discussed a plan to defeat Grayson and save their home. Their plan was risky, but they were willing to do whatever it took to protect their friends.

As the Smiling Critters put their plan into action, Grayson casually made his way through the destroyed town. He gazed at the village with a pondering look as if he didn’t even notice the flames surrounding him.

“Hmm. Let’s see. The fountain will go over here.” Grayson said before destroying a nearby building with a lightning bolt. “My throne will go here.” Followed by another lightning bolt. “And the statue depicting me in all my glory will go here.”

After firing one last lighting bolt, Grayson took a look around, liking the ideas of his vision for his new empire.

“Things are looking nice, but I feel that there is something missing.” Grayson told himself. “Now what is it? Hm?”

Suddenly, Grayson looked up to see Picky, who was struggling with pulling a wagon containing a giant cake. The sight of the cake intrigued Grayson, so he approached Picky to get a closer look.

“What have you got there, little piggy?” Grayson asked, still keeping his eyes on the cake.

In order to stay calm, Picky put on a convincing fake smile as she did her best not to seem too scared or suspicious.

“O-Oh, this? Th-This is a cake a baked to celebrate your rule over us, Lord Grayson.” Picky explained.

“Of course! That’s what I’ve been missing!” Grayson realized. “A cake that is as great as I am!”

“Yes, this cake is made of the finest ingredients, including cream, frosting, and a special surprise in the center.” said Picky.

Grayson took a moment to admire the cake. “I have to say, I’m impressed, pig! Once I take over, I’ll have to make you my own personal chef! By the way, what is the special surprise, anyway?”

“Surprise!” Grayson was taken by surprise when Kickin suddenly jumped out of the cake, followed by the rest of the Smiling Critters.

Without wasting a moment, they all tried to reach for the spell book in Grayson’s hoof. Unfortunately, even with the unexpected ambush, Grayson was too fast for the Smiling Critters and captured all of them by using one of his spells to levitate them in the air.

“Nice try!” Grayson gloated. “You should have known better than to mess with the most powerful wizard in the world!”

DogDay attempted to break free of the spell, but found that he couldn’t move a muscle. He soon glared at the goat wizard before he yelled, “You’re not going to get away with this, Grayson! We will stop you!”

“Oh, sure! You’re doing a great job with that so far!” Grayson mocked. “Was surprising me by jumping out of a cake really your plan?”

Suddenly, DogDay gave a sly grin as he replied, “Nope! This is!”

Before Grayson could ask what DogDay meant by that, CatNap sneaked behind him before swiping the book from his hoof. The moment Grayson lost the book, the Smiling Critters floated back down to the ground.

“Way to go, CatNap! You did it!” Lily cheered for her friend.

That was when Grayson growled in anger. He might have lost the book, but he was not going to left himself get defeated that easily.

“Give me that book!”

Before CatNap could react, Grayson tackled him, causing the book the fly in the air. As the spell book fell back to the ground, the Smiling Critters scrambled to catch it. The book soon landed in Crafty’s hooves, much to her surprise.

“I-I caught it!” Crafty exclaimed.

However, her victory was short lived when Grayson pushed her to the ground and took the book back. With the book back in his possession, he turned to Crafty with a sinister grin, causing her to back away in terror.

“Oh, you poor little unicorn! I have a fire spell just for you!”

Before Grayson could make a move, he was caught by surprise when Lily tackled him to the ground.

“Stay away from CraftyCorn!” Lily yelled, her white pupils shrinking to a couple of vertical slits while showing her sharp teeth.

Just the idea of Grayson hurting Lily’s girlfriend was enough for her to get consumed by rage. Even Grayson trembled in fear at what this fox could do to him.

“Lily! The book! Throw me the book!” Bubba waved his arms, snapping Lily out of her feral state.

“Oh, right.”

Taking the book, Lily threw it over to Bubba. The Smiling Critters did everything they could to keep the book away from Grayson until it eventually landed in DogDay’s paws. Desperate, Grayson ran towards DogDay and took the book in his hands as well with the two of them fighting to take the book.

“Give it to me! I can’t remember a single spell without it!” Grayson yelled.

“No! I’m not going to rest until our home is safe from you!” DogDay declared.

They both fought over the book until Grayson pulled on it too hard, causing it to fly out of both of their hands. Everyone watched as the book landed in a patch of fire, much to Grayson’s horror.

“No! No! No!” Grayson rushed over to the book and watched as it was slowly burned to ashes. “This can’t be happening! I was so close to having an empire of my own.”

Grayson sank to his knees in defeat as the Smiling Critters approached him from behind.

“It’s over, Grayson! We are not going to let you take over our home. This town is a town of smiles, and that is something you can never take away!” DogDay said.

After hearing the way that DogDay described their home, Picky took a moment to ponder to herself.

“Smile… town?” Picky gasped as she realized something. “Of course! This is the perfect name for our home! Smile Town!”

“Hey, that’s a great name, Picky! I like it!” Bobby smiled.

As his book was reduced to nothing but ashes, he turned around to face the Smiling Critters.

“T-Tell me. Who are you guys?”

Taking a glance at his friends, DogDay gave a triumphant smile. Despite all of the dangers he went through on all the adventures he had, he had comfort in knowing that his friends would always be by his side.

“We are the Smiling Critters, and no matter what, we will always make sure to protect our friends from you because we want nothing more than to see them smile everyday.”

With a growl, Grayson stood back up, glaring at the Smiling Critters with pure hatred. Even if they had defeated him, he would make sure they realized that they just made a powerful enemy.

“Then enjoy your victory while you still can, Smiling Critters! I promise I’ll come back for revenge, and when I do, you’ll regret ever crossing paths with me!”

Without another word, Grayson disappeared in a puff of smoke. His sudden disappearance would have confused the Smiling Critters if it hadn’t been for the fact that they were all able to see him running away in the distance.

Once Grayson was finally defeated, the Smiling Critters worked together to help their friends restore their homes. Since they all had experience from the last time their village was destroyed, they were able to restore everything back to normal in no time at all. Once the village was finally rebuilt, DogDay stared at the newly named Smile Town in joy, along with the rest of his friends.

“Great job, everyone! Thanks to our efforts, our friends can go back to living peaceful lives!” DogDay smiled.

“I have to admit, I had my fair share of adventures in Foxville, but nothing like this. Do you guys go on adventures like this all the time?” Lily asked.

“You know it, Lily!” Hoppy exclaimed, wrapping an arm around Lily’s back. “We can’t wait to have you join us on our future adventures!”

“Neither can I, Hoppy!” Lily smiled.

Now that everyone was living in peace once again, the Smiling Critters decided to have a fun time and spend the rest of the day together. As they all celebrated their victory, they hoped to make the most out of this fun day because they knew that their adventures were just beginning.

Notes:

Well, that’s the end of the first chapter of my new Smiling Critters story! Unlike the previous story where I only introduced my friend, megasuperstar360x’s OC, Lily Fox in one chapter, I plan to make her a main character, along with the rest of the Smiling Critters. This will be different from the previous Adventures of the Smiling Critters story as I plan to bring the Smiling Critters to different locations in future chapters, have them meet new faces, including my new OC, Grayson Goat, and have the Smiling Critters go through a couple of romantic subplots. Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying the story so far, and I hope to write the next chapter soon.
