Summary:

Angel and Buffy survive the fight with the Master in the Wishverse. But it’s not exactly what Angel was expecting.

Buffy is charged up after the fight. Angel can sense the shift in her, in how she looks at him. She’s so different from the Buffy he saw through the window years ago.

But part of him responds to her still.

"Doesn't it make you all hungry and...?" She gets close. Close enough to kiss.

Angel looks away. He can’t deny that he wants.

"What's the trouble then?"

"I…I want it to mean something."

"Newsflash, it doesn't. Ever."

"That's not true."

"Has it ever meant anything for you? Anything real?"

He bows his head, defeated. "No."

He gives in.

If you haven’t heard of it before, the I Will Remember You Marathon is a fan event with the goal of posting one new Buffy/Angel story for each day in November, in honor of the anniversary of the Angel episode “I Will Remember You,” which first aired back in November 1999. Bangel fans have been keeping this thing going since 2004. (You can check out our FAQ for more details.) I’ve been helping out on the mod side the last few years, along with Abby, Aboutafox, Bri, Kairos, Kean, Lea and Taaroko.
