But when he succeeded, he woke up not in heaven or hell, but in a body that wasn’t his—Dream Wastaken, the pitiful landlord from Alpha Affair. Clay remembered Dream's brutal death vividly—a mere footnote in someone else’s story.
Now, he was that footnote, lying in Dream’s apartment, trapped in irony. He was the landlord and side character, beaten to death by a man whose madness was romanticized. Techno Blade, Dream's infamous tenant, lived under his roof, unaware of Clay’s past.
Though uncertain of what this meant, Clay knew one thing: the story wasn’t over for Dream or for him.
