Chapter Text
Important notes :
I haven't read/watched BNHA after the work studies, so expect canon to go frankly down the drain from there. I know bits of what happens next thanks to fanfics, and I will cherry pick amongst the fanon interpretation, and the bits of more or less canon that I've deducted. If I use someone else plotpoint and didn't mention which fic inspired it, it's probably either because I found that plotpoint in multiple fic, or didn't know another fic had the same idea, or maybe, sometimes, because I can't remember the fic that inspiration came from...
Not everything has been decided about what happened during the 2 years skip, so, for exemple : I don't know if it's a Dad for One fic.
Some thing are clearly different that canon : I've made the executive decision to not maim Aizawa : I like him as he is at the start. And I don't really like excessive amount of angst (or ignored angst, for that matter), so most of the Important Character who had a Canon death flag got really really lucky here, and survived (If I got it right, that involves in particular : Midnight and Bakugou, but probably others too...)
Again, not sure about Canon, but I think at some point, Kurogiri got escaped from prison, and back to AfO to play taxi and stuff. Probably caused a lot of problem to the heroes, which is a very good reason to have him extracted, plot-wise. For MY plot, him escaping would be an enormous problem to my narrative, so... It didn't happen. Probably, as a result, the bad guys lost one hell of an advantage, so the heroes were better positioned to take down AfO, and everything else went better because that specific shitshow didn't take ALL energies... So after 2 crazy years to take down OfA, kick down the metahuman army, and clean up the hero association, NOW things are back to normalish, there is still some clean-up to do, still the everyday "humans are terrible people" to deal with, regular organized crime, regular murders, psychos, terrorism, espionnage etc... But no collapsing of the society. The society is in the process of reforming, and it's difficult, but not overtly violent (yeah, I'd like things to work that way in real life : reforming a society to be better without needing it to reach rock bottom first and meeting the choice between change or death...)
Sooo, all the above were more or less the context in which the story advance
Actually planed for in my outlines
2 main parts :
The Kurogiri part :
Turns out, at some point in his Brainwashed-Villain-Portal carreer, Kurogiri must have gotten caught in the Splash Quirk. Because as a sort-of undead-cloud, he doesn't sleep while working for OfA, he never got to realize... Anything about the whole thing.
Then, at some point, Kurogiri got arrested in a similar way as in Canon, and Present-Mic, Eraserhead and Midnight keep coming to visit him in prison/hospital to try and get him to remember more of his past, with difficult to estimate results, from the Heroes point of view. Kurogiri does see obvious differences, because starting with their first discussion, he has started getting memories of Oboro, but also the Dreams (not much work to do, in prison or hospital : leaves plenty of time to discover a revolutionary pass time : nap !). Both sets of memories are very confusing, so he hasn’t really tried to incorporate them to his current identity. But that’s about to change. And it's the idea behind the whole fic...
The Todoroki part : (useful if I ever reach chapter 2...)
At some point, Aizawa did manage to get Todoroki to explain his problem with Endeavor. Because of Reasons (protecting a society on the brink of collapse and keeping the Todoroki kids out of a media circus that wouldn’t help anyone), there was no legal pursuit, but he did get Endeavor to let Shouto become a ward of UA full-time (basically, here, the Endeavor Redemption Arc ends up with him realizing how much of a terrible father he was, and that it’s not really something he can make go away with a sorry and playing nice, so it was decided that for Shouto’s sake, he would be better off away from his father until Shouto would want to do something different. Endeavor truly did learn his lesson, but yeah, too late to save his relationship with his kids (and not just Dabi). That seems more credible to me… But I haven't read that part, so I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with my preference : it's just how it's going to go in this fic). As a result, Shouto spends his holidays at Aizawa’s. And Yamada’s. They live together. I haven’t decided yet if it’s romantic, or just flatmate (Aizawa and Yamada : Todoroki is more or less their adopted problem kid). I like both. Pick whichever you like most.
