Saturday night, right after dinner, was Y/N’s movie time. She would pick a movie for the evening and enjoy it, sometimes alone, sometimes with the children and Bruce. It always depended on what she was watching who joined. Romcoms attracted the girls and Jason. Action made the boys appear more and comedies made everyone join in for movie night. But today Y/N was feeling something different from what she usually watched. She was craving ABBA and drama.
So Mamma Mia it is. Y/N snuggled up on the couch with a blanket and a hot cup of tea. It wasn’t long before Damian joined, him being a fan of the famous Swedish pop band made him curious about the movie. Shortly after Harry, Bill and Sam meet Shopie, Steph and Cass appear. Wanting to know more about the drama that is about to unfold. Damian grumbled a little as he snuggled against Y/N, something about that not being realistic. Which got him a shush from both girls.
‘Chiquitita’ made Tim appear, and said the song sounded nice. Sneakily Jason was already settling into his chair with a book, but secretly watching along with the others.
“Wait so she doesn’t know who the father is?” Steph asked after watching Sharon have her little breakdown. "No, she doesn’t know who the father is.” Y/N answered as she paused the movie for a bit. “But she could like do math and stuff to go back to the day she well… did it.. Right?” Damian asked, feeling a bit confused about the logic of the movie. “It’s for the story, Dami.” Y/N answered before unpausing the movie again.
Around ‘Our last summer’ Bruce appeared from his study. Sitting down next to his wife on her other side. Gently whispering the song to her as it played on the screen. Y/N could only lean into Bruce’s arm and enjoying the little moment without the kids realising. Well Damian noticed, but he would let his parents have this tooth rotting sweet moment.
“How old are you?” Bill said on the screen. “I’M TWENTY!!!” Dick yelled from behind the couch, finger pointing at the screen. “I know that meme!!!” Everyone looked back at Dick when he interrupted the movie. “It's… it's a thing from tiktok…” he mumbled. “Yeah we know Dickhead.” Jason answered before receiving a glare from Y/N. “Just sit down or leave Dickie. No meme talk.”
Dick listened and quickly sat down and shut his mouth. About an hour in, Alfred came with hot chocolate and pie and settled down in his chair. Duke had joined them too and happily watched along with everyone.
Y/N thought it was nice how the family came together. When ‘Slipping through my fingers’ started Y/n started to cry a little. The feelings are a bit too much. The thoughts of her kids growing up and being their own person was bitter sweet. Her hand gently went through Damian's hair. She wasn't the only one crying though. Steph and Cass got a little emotional too and to everyone's surprise Jason. Bruce held Y/n close and kissed her cheek.
As they continue to watch the plot of the movie thickens. Twist after twist. Donna not knowing who the father is and even the boys gasped when it became clear that Harry was gay.
“Wait so he's gay!?” Tim asked a little confused on how that plot went. “No he's definitely bi, he loved Donna so clearly bi.” Cass argued, not really weirded out by the plot development. “But he didn't know he was attracted to men?” Damian asked. “That we actually don't know, haven't really watched the second movie yet.” Y/N answered, gently rubbing Bruce's arm. “We could watch that next Saturday if you all want to.”
“Yes!!” “Definitely! We need to know the drama!” “Can we?” Were all answers Y/N got, clearly everyone wanted to watch the second movie too. “Alright, next week we'll watch Mamma mia 2. Now ssshh we still have a couple more minutes.” And for the last bit of the movie everyone was silent. Just enjoying the last bit of the story and loudly singing along with the end credits. Y/N couldn’t wait until next week to watch the second movie.
