The sun just started to set, and the wind was rustling through the trees. The sky showed a stunning golden orange color. I softly glanced over to Two Time. They had this look on their face, I could quite place what it was. Yes, they always have somewhat messy hair along with other things. This though.. This was different.
“Timey, are you feeling alright?” I asked gently as we were walking down the rocky, sunlit path.
“Oh, uh.. I’m fine!” They said with a nervous voice, as well as an uneasy forced smile. Maybe I’m just imagining it.
We soon reached the field, and my eyes immediately lit up. “Wow! Look at all these beautiful nightshades.” I whispered with awe.
The violet nightshades lay scattered all across the field. “There is so many.. It is truly amazing.” Two Time mumbled.
I slightly turned my head towards Two Time. They were staring into the long, vast fields of grass. It was almost as if they were seeing something I couldn’t. The sun lit the grass, as well as the trees in the most beautiful way, it provided a sense of peace. The wind softly blew over the lengthy fields of sunlit grass. This is the perfect chance. Now, in this very moment.
“Hey, Azzy..?” Two Time asked, interrupting my moment.
“Yes, my Nightshade?” I answered.
“I just want to make it clear.. You know, I love you more than anything.. Right?” They said with a serious tone.
I was confused. Why are they clarifying it? Are they in trouble? Do they need my help? “Yes, and the same to you Timey.” I smiled.
I leaned over to pick a flower, then turned to Two Time. I tucked back their pitch black hair and placed the flower on their ear. “Timey, my dear. Could we walk to that tree?” I asked. It was the perfect place.
“Uhm, sure. I don’t see why not.” They said.
As we were walking to the tree, they looked deeply stressed. “Seriously, are you okay Two Time?” I asked in a serious tone.
“Yes, yes.” They answered dismissively. It’s okay, it’s probably nothing. I mean, it is Two Time. They’re full of surprises. I just hope they’re not mad at me.. I don’t think I did anything…
As we stood together under the flower filled tree, I turned my body over towards Two Time. They still had that look, but 10 times worse. Maybe if i ask now, they will feel better.. yes, I think it’s perfect! Here we go..
“Two Time, my dear. Will you mar-“ I was cut off by multiple sharp pains.
I looked down to see a dagger. No, not just any dagger… It was Two Time’s dagger.
As they were done twisting the dagger and shredding my skin, they pulled the dagger out of my chest. I quickly collapsed down to the ground. I felt the blood sliding down my torso, and slowly dripping out through the corners of my mouth.
I could have pushed them away, but it’s Two Time. I stand well aware of why they did this.
“Oh… Oh my, Azzy… I.. I’m so- sorry..” They sobbed as they kneeled over my soon to be lifeless body.
“T.. Timey.. Please.. D- don’t cry.. Stay..” I breathed.
For some reason though, I didn’t know if I wanted them to stop crying. I didn’t know if I wanted them to stay. I mean, I thought I could trust them.. They were the one person I thought I could trust, but clearly that was wrong.
“Oh spawn.. P.. Please.. Grant my Azure a second life..” They mumbled as tears streamed down their cheeks and they pulled their hair anxiously.
Slowly, my vision started to fade. I heard the faint sounds of Two Time yelling, “No! Why, Why must I be so selfish?!” “I’m so sor-“ And then, it all went quiet.
