Work Text:
Nick and Judy were getting ready for their job. In the middle of putting on their attire, Nick grumbled softly as he forgot how to tie his tie.
"Not like that" he muttered, undoing the knot and starting over. "The top part goes..." Agh, how was it again?
Seeing him struggle so hard, Judy goes to help him. In seconds she's on a stool, trying to tie his tie.
"Can you, Carrots?" he smiled amusedly, seeing that she's also finding it complicated.
"I can!" she retorted firmly, a tie wasn't going to defeat her, right? It couldn't be that hard! She did it! With tutorials on Zootube but, she did it!
But there she was, motionless after making meaningless bows. The fox was standing tall with his hands behind his back.
"Are you surrendering, Darling?"
"Agh!" she uttered. "I still don't understand what ties are for, they're useless!"
"You surprise me, Fluff," he stated. "Ties, they complete the formal attire and you, a perfectionist to the core, hate them?"
"It's not that I hate them, it's that I don't understand their purpose," looking at how the knot was getting more and more complicated for her.
Well, she was giving up.
Letting go of the garment with her paws.
"But..." she started. "I don't understand something, darling," taking the rabbit's tie with his paws. "Can't you tie my tie, but you can tie yours?"
"All my ties already have the knot made," she answered simply, as her violet eyes clashed with the fox's green ones.
"Oh," he dramatically gestured in surprise. "So you're a cheater," he added amusedly. "Sly bunny."
At the moment he said that, Nick's paws push Judy's tie forward.
Their muzzles brushing, about to collide.
"Ties aren't so useless, maybe they had this purpose from the beginning," he said and completes the distance that separates them, sealing the kiss.
"Sly fox," her fur on her face turned red.
Nick smiled crookedly.
"Yes, I am."
