   Summary

   “You’re home,” Dedra says at last. “Food’s still warm,” she offers, tentative. “You want—”

   “No.” Soft. Cracked around the edges. Alhena’s voice is lower than usual. Hoarse. “Don’t want food.”

   Dedra hesitates, hand half-reaching for her elbow. “Do you want to talk about it?” Alhena lifts her head. Their eyes meet.

   “No,” she says again, firmer now. Then quieter:

   “I want you.”

   Dedra swallows. “Me?”

   Alhena’s fingers trail along her side—barely a touch, just enough to make Dedra’s breath catch.

   “I want you to take me to bed.” A long pause. Alhena’s voice goes even softer, stripped bare: “I want you to take care of me.” The words settle in the air between them like a live wire. "Please."

   The Free Ryloth movement, Captain Slavin's incompetence, and Major Partagaz's prodding has started to add up. At Thrawn's suggestion Alhena Grandi decides to let herself be taken care of and Dedra is more than happy to help.
