Invisible | OC Version

Summary:

As I find myself lost in thought, staring out of my bedroom window, a profound sense of solitude envelops me. It's as if I am a mere ghost in the lives of those around me. My twin sister moves through our shared space without recognizing my existence, my classmates carry on with their activities as though I am a mere background figure, and my teachers conduct their lessons without so much as a passing acknowledgment of my presence. However, the most agonizing of all is the realization that Jacob Black, the object of my affection for what feels like an eternity, seems to regard me as nothing more than a means to gain access to my sister, indifferent to the depth of my emotions and aspirations

Chapter 1: Reminisce.

Chapter Text

I grew up in Forks, a town that has become a home to me over the years. One I was ripped away from. My dad, Charlie, is the chief of police, and I have always had a deep admiration for him. I always came back to visit until I just couldn't anymore. It was unfortunate. I found myself unable to visit as often as I would have liked. Despite the many memories I have of this town, I realized that my recollections compared to my sister Bella's are not as clear. Bella, the older and more attractive of the two of us as I've heard people say, has always been titled as incredibly gifted and hard-working. While I believe I possess my own beauty, it's evident that she is the preferred one. Still being just 16, it seems hopeless to compete with her at this point in my life

As I sat in my newly acquired but familiar room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disconnection from it. The room looked unchanged, yet I felt transformed. I pondered how I'd soon customize the room to reflect the person I've become. Engrossed in my book, a sudden horn blared outside and interrupted my thoughts. I was just about to investigate the source of the noise when a knock on the door diverted my attention.

"Let's go down." I heard Bella speak. I nodded and I ran down with her, seeing... Billy Black...?

"Billy Black...?" I whispered I saw his head tilt.

"You two remember Billy Black don't you?" My dad asked and I smiled nodding.

"I think she beat you to it, Charlie," Billy said and I blushed.

"Huh?"

"Oh never mind." Billy laughed at Dad.

"You're looking good," Bella said trying to compliment.

"Still dancing," Billy said and I watched intensively until he caught my eye.

"Ja-" I stopped, he might not remember me, I blushed and looked down, I saw him glance at me.

"You remember me too huh?" He said and I looked at him.

"Sorry if it seems weird..." I said and he shook his head.

"I mean I remember us making mud pies together." He said and Bella butt in suddenly much to my annoyance, I felt that shiver down my spine of pure aggravation, I couldn't have anything.

"Oh yeah, I remember." Her voice seemed hopeful.

Dad and Billy walked over and Dad smacked the side of the truck that was standing next to us, I didn't even notice that.

"You like?" Dad said looking at Bella. Once again I felt shoved to the side, so I took my step over there.

"What?"-- As I recall, all I could hear was the sound of my own nervous breath, especially while standing next to Jacob. It seemed like nothing could faze him; his attention was always on Bella. Feeling superfluous, I began making my way inside when suddenly I felt a firm grip on my arm. I turned to see Jacob looking back at me.

"Give me your number... I wanna hang out." Jacob whispered and I nodded fast taking his phone and putting it in. "By the way, C- there's one for you too." He muttered though he seemed to want to say something else but cut himself short on the thought. I gulped and nodded.

"I can't wait," I mumbled smiling at him before Shivering and running back inside.

I was more excited than my sister Bella as we rode together in the truck on the way to school. When I saw the kids at the school, they looked unsettling, and it made me feel scared. We both got out of the car, and someone complimented Bella's car. When he looked at me and smiled, I waved at him. Bella, on the other hand, just said thanks and kept walking. I couldn't help but think that she won't make friends like that.

As we made our way down the bustling hallway, we found ourselves engrossed in trying to decipher the map while simultaneously checking our class schedules. It was a bit comical, as my sister and I were in different grades and thus had completely different sets of classes. Amid our navigation efforts, a friendly-looking kid approached us and confidently introduced himself, appearing to already know who we were. His name was Eric, and he exuded a warmth that instantly put me at ease though it wouldn't last very long.

"You need anything?" He asked and I nodded in response as he continued speaking, unaware of my presence. Feeling a sense of invisibility, I turned away and muttered under my breath.

"Okay, I guess... Bye.." I couldn't help but roll my eyes at this blatant rudeness that was my sister not including me as they walked away. Once again she left me to fend for myself.

They didn't notice me at all as they turned down the hall, what the hell? I felt invisible as usual when it came to my sister.

****

During lunchtime, I found myself sitting alone at the only empty table, feeling overwhelmed with emotion. As I sat there, several people walked in, looking for a place to sit. With panic, I stood up to offer them the table. However, before I could do so, a large, robust person pushed me down, causing me to let out a yelp of surprise and discomfort.

"No sit." He said and I gulped. One girl with brown hair came around the table, and I looked at her, she seemed to look nice but as she moved to sit, she accidentally touched my hand and gasped quietly, as did I. She was so cold. It was not normal cold, colder than it was outside.

"You need a seat," I whispered. He nodded, and more came into view, but they all looked so weird, and one looked like he was experiencing genuine pain, and I gulped. "I'm sorry I can't.. i.. feel sick..." I mumbled and the brunette nodded. I stood from my seat, running into the one who appeared to be the fifth wheel, and he stared down at me as if there was something to be surprised about, I saw my sister staring over here, and I looked at her, we made eye-contact, before I finally I ran out, ran to the bathroom and hid in the bathroom. I was panicking... I didn't want to mess up today, but I did. I... I just left school in general, fuck this, fuck Bella, I took in the cold air through my nose and into my lungs finally feeling like I was able to breathe properly. I decided to text Jacob.

Hey, wanna hang...?

And I got back almost instantly.

I can't pick you up, but yes.

Looks like I'm walking because like fuck I was going back to that school, and my house was farther than Jacob was.

Chapter 2: Be My Friend.

Chapter Text

As I strolled towards the reserve, the picturesque scenery unfolded before me, the trees and woods looked amazing around me, as I walked. It was then that I noticed him, leaning casually against his dirt bike he had, Jacob exuded confidence amidst the tranquil surroundings, and I could help but sigh. "Why couldn't he get me?" I mumbled quietly to myself and he looked at me, I raised my eyebrows and he smiled at me, making me smile back.

"Cecilia! Sorry, I was working on things.." He said and I nodded softly, as I was Making my way to him, and him to me, I was feeling a bit chilly in the damp weather. Unexpectedly, he reached out and wrapped his arms around me, gently rubbing my arms to warm me up. His touch felt so warm and comforting that I instantly melted into his embrace. "Dad is not home so we got the place to ourselves." He said and I nodded and he let me go and turned to his bike, handed me a helmet, I put it on and he got on, and I did after him. "Hold on tight..." he whispered back to me and I wrapped my arms around him tightly. I heard him chuckle to himself as I did literally what he told me and he started driving to his house... I held onto him, feeling his stomach against my hand, and I felt warm as I put my cheek to his back. He smelled like the forest after it rained. I was so distracted by him, that I didn't notice how fast we had gotten to his place, I opened my eyes and we were here. I slid off and he did after me.

As we strolled to his garage, he reached for the handle and swung the door open. My eyes took in the inviting sight of the cozy interior. Stepping inside, I immediately felt relief from the relentless rain outside. Taking a seat, and slipping my jacket off he turns to me. "What made you leave school?" He asked and I sighed.

"Nothing too important, I didn't feel like sitting there being the new girl anymore. I bumped into these kids who were obviously in Bella's grade, kinda weird and weird-looking... Not physically, they were just... Looked like they were too good-looking." I said and he chuckled walking over and sitting next to me in this futon he had that was positioned as a couch.

"Sounds weird." He said and I nodded.

"But yeah, kinda just felt like I needed some difference," I said and he smiled.

"Glad I could be your difference." He said and I nodded along with him smiling.

"Me too." A sudden knock interrupted our solitude, and we turned to see some of Jacob's friends at the door coming right in.

"Looky here, Jake got a girl over." Said one of them.

"Jared-" they cut Jacob off.

"Hey, I'm Embry." Said one flirtatiously

"Jared," Winked another

"Quill," Causally said the last one.

Jared came over and sat next to me. "Damn may I say, you're fine?" He said and smiled.

"You may," I said and he smiled as I took his compliment. "But I'm not." before immediately rejecting it.

He looked at the others. "Did you hear that?" He said and Jacob finally stepped in. "No way you think that." Jake interrupted.

"Guys she just moved back- please stop flirting with her, she's probably uncomfortable." He said and I smiled as he stood up for me and they all looked sad.

"Aww." They all said in unison.

Jared got up and walked over. "We gotta go anyway technically, responsibility is a thing, just wanted to see if you were free but not." He sighed and they nodded, turning and walking out. "We came to talk but we'll see you later, Leave you alone with her." I heard him say, seeing Quill suggestively wave his eyebrows. Jake rolled his eyes and closed the door as they left and made his way back over to me.

I felt Jacob sit next to me making me than to him once again, our knees bumping into each other. "Hey, I'm sorry about them.." he said and I looked at him. "They're just idiots." He chuckled and I smiled and nodded.

"Understandable, it's not every day I get flirted with anyway," I said shrugging as I played with a stray piece of my hair he looked confused as I said this, I mean what could be confusing?

"But- I'm surprised you wouldn't have people swooning over you at school?" He asked and I laughed almost, what? I mean maybe people thought I was pretty but swooning was such a strong word choice, and I couldn't help but think there was no way.

"No! I'm in my sister's shadow at school, even though she's kinda... not the greatest with them," I explained and he hummed looking confused.

"Well, you aren't here, in her shadow I mean." He stood up looking at me. "Just full... Cecilia." He chuckled waving his hand at me, reaching down to offer his hand to me. I smiled at him and reached up taking his hand and he pulled me up to stand as well, he smiled down at me. "I'm kinda hungry? What about you?" He asked and I nodded in agreement as his hand wavered on mine for a second before he removed it completely. I felt my cheeks heat up, he picked up the phone and called for delivery, I walked around and he looked back at me. "Pep-"

"Pep," I agreed while smiling and he laughed nodding, I looked around at all his knuts and bolts, tools and scrap metal, I looked at everything, the posters hung up and then the lack of decor as well, before finally I peeked out the back door and saw a truck-like Bellas but, more black. I couldn't help but wonder what it was for when suddenly I felt him pull me back by my waist and I chuckled.

"You shouldn't be peaking at your gift." He said and I turned smiling wonder probably in my eyes, no way that couldn't be it! I noticed how his face was close to mine, my face heating more. "It's not done yet." He said smiling, and I bit my lip grinning at him. "And this one is a gift, no need to buy." This absolutely shocked me.

"What- no," I protested. "I have to do something," I mumbled and he hummed making a thinking motion but in a teasing manner.

"Friends then?" He asked and I chuckled, I smiled nodding.

"Friends."

When I got home, which was deemed pretty late by a father's standards, 9 pm, I walked in the door and saw Bella and Dad talking in the kitchen. I tried to go upstairs quietly before Dad yelled my name as he realized I had arrived home. I cursed to myself and walked into the kitchen.

"Dad! Hey." I said casually like he had known where I was all day and he hummed.

"Where have you been? Bella said you didn't get a ride from her home and hasn't seen you all day?" He asked and I shrugged as if my next answer was obvious and simple.

"Been hanging with Jacob," I said casually and Dad's eyes widened, like it was surprising since it was right after our first meeting. It kind of was I guess.

"Billy Black's kid?" He asked and I nodded smiling, maybe my smile was to big because he then asked. "Just friends right-"

"Oh yeah, what else are we supposed to be," I asked feigning innocence, and he nodded, happy with that innocent answer. Bella looked at me suspiciously though but I just shrugged at her, hopefully letting her know it wasn't a big deal and to not make any out of it. I then turned to leave.

"So no supper?" Dad asked surprised and I hummed shrugging looking back at him.

"Nope, had pizza at Jacobs," I said and he nodded at me as I then made my way upstairs with a stupid smile on my face as I thought about Jake.

Chapter 3: Naive.

Chapter Text

I didn't understand her. I watched my sister walk around this school, making so many friends, but yet she stood there like a-a weirdo. She's so awkward but yet, every time I tried talking to people they seemed, annoyed or, awkward enough on their own. I watch her curl up at every chance, and I just.. sat alone. I walked down the hall with my headphones in and soon face-planted into an unfamiliar cold chest. I jumped back immediately looking up at who it was to apologize.

"E-Edward!" I stuttered. My sister had told me about this guy, he weirded her out, but I could tell in a good way.

"You might wanna watch-" he froze. "You.. are Bella Swan's Sister." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, I'm just Bella's sister," I grumbled.

"I didn't mean to offend you, do you get compared a lot?" He asked and waved for me to walk with him. I nodded and we started to walk.

"Yeah compared, more like, minimized. I'm just always behind her, her shadow." I said walking with him and he nodded looking up in a thinking manner.

"Y'know, you're hard to read, she is too, but you more so." He expressed and I sighed nodding.

"Not many people try to.. get to know me." I looked at him. "Or.. read me," I said and he nodded slowly.

"You.. smell like dog." He stated and I looked at him confusedly.

"Uh.. or smell me. I don't even-.. I don't own a dog." I said and he stopped looking at me.

"Or one owns you.." he whispered like I didn't have ears. "I'm sorry, I should go." He said and he ran off.

****

Lunch came along, and this girl grabbed my arm and shoved me in a seat. I looked around me and saw, all Bellas friends and looked up seeing the brunette girl who shoved me down.

"Uh, I think you have the wrong Swan," I said and Bella walked over putting her tray down.

"No baby, we don't." Said Tyler Crowley, I looked at him and gulped.

"La Push Baby? You two in?" Asked Eric Yorkie.

"Should I know what that means?" Bella asked and I bit my lip.

"Bella, it's the beach down at Quileute Rez," I said and she looked at me and Tyler wrapped his arm around me.

"Looks like Swan 2.0 knows more." He said looking at me and I gulped.

"There's a big swell coming in." Said Jessica Stanley.

"And I don't just surf the Internet!" Eric stood and I chuckled.

"Eric you stood up once and it was a foam board," Jessica said as Mike Newton was doing a surf position with Eric but Tyler pulled him down.

"But there's whale watching too, come with us!" Said Angela Weber, looking at us both, I saw Tyler look at me with hope and I simply nodded. Maybe Jacob will be there.

When Bella walked off I watched them talk and mingle with extensive talk about 'La Push', and Mike stared at Bella as she spoke with the ever so blunt Edward Cullen, reminding me I looked at Tyler.

"Tyler do you mind if I ask an odd question?" I asked.

"Odd is my expertise!" He smirked.

"What do... I smell like to you?" I asked and he hummed leaning over smelling my hair and shoulder.

"Um, I'm guessing raspberry Shampoo and chocolate." He said smiling.

Why did Edward say I smelt like a dog then? "Thanks." I smiled at him.

****

I stood next to Angela on La Push, the sun was hidden and my eyes were shut, listening to the waves crashing and the laughter and talk of my sister's friends.

"So I keep thinking, that Eric's gonna ask me out to the prom," Angela spoke and I opened my eyes looking at her. She was looking at me, and I nodded her along. "And he just.. doesn't." She said.

"He won't," I said and she looked Surprised. "He's a guy, guys are oblivious. You are a strong independent woman, and you don't need to wait for a man you want. You Ask him. And if he says no he's dumb." I said and she smiled.

"I am?"

"Absolutely," I said looking at her and she giggled, but Jessica ran over asking for help. I stepped out of the way but completely bumped into someone, whose arms naturally grabbed me for support, but the familiar grip made me panic a bit.

"Cece!" I heard and I looked to see Jacob.

"Oh Hey Jacob!" I said smiling hugging him, and he hugged back, god was he so warm. "What are you, stalking me boy," I said chuckling and he rolled his eyes as I turned but his arms gripped my shoulders as he rocked side to side.

"Excuse me, you're on my Rez." He said looking at me, and I leaned onto him more. "You're surfing? You and Bella?"

"Not." I and Bella said in unison. He chuckled and Jessica spoke.

"You guys should keep them company, Bella's date bailed and Cecilia came alone, well Tyler believed she came with him without him even asking her." Jessica rolled her eyes, to which I did too, returning the favour.

"What date?" Eric said panicked.

"She invited Edward," I said.

"To be polite, that's it." She said justifying herself.

"I think it's nice," I said.

"No one ever invites him." Angela agreed.

"Yeah cause he's a freak."

I looked down. "You got that right." Said Jacobs friend.

"Yeah, sadly." I sighed leaning on Jacob more.

"You guys know him?" Bella asked.

"The Cullens don't come here." Said the other and I tensed, but as a reaction, I think Jacob pulled me closer.

We headed out for a walk, me on one side of Jacob and Bella next to me. Bella started the conversation once a bit away. "What did your friend mean by 'the Cullens don't come here and all." She said and I nodded also wondering.

"You guys caught that huh?" He asked looking at us. "I'm not supposed to.. say anything." He said and I slipped my arm around his.

"We're the best at keeping secrets," I said looking at him and he looked down at me, biting his lip nervously.

"Uh, heh it's uh, just like an old scary story." He said as we walked, looking down at me, and then at Bella but still slightly paying more attention to me.

"Go on.." I said clenching harder.

"Okay okay.. did you know Quileutes are supposedly descended from wolves?" He asked and I shook my head.

"Real wolves?" I asked and he smiled.

"Yeah! Well, that's the legend for our tribe." He said looking into the water.

"Okay, what are the Cullens?" Bella asked.

"Well, they're supposedly descended for this enemy clan. My great-grandfather, Chief, found them hunting on our lands, but they claim to be something different so we made a treaty with them. If they promised to stay off Quileute lands.. then we wouldn't expose but they were to the pale faces." He said smiling down at me and I looked down a bit touching my cheek with my free hand.

"I thought they just moved here?" Bella said.

"Or just moved back." He said and suddenly we heard a scream, making me jump, and he smiled down at me. Bella looked at Jacob.

"What are they?" She asked as if she was deep in thought.

"It's just a story, Bella." Jacob laughed. Bella sighed looking at me.

"Are you gonna stay with him I think I might head out?" She said and I looked at Jacob.

"I'll stay with him," I said and he looked at me smiling. She nodded and nervously ran off. I walked with Jacob alone now and I looked at the water. "Wolf," I mumble thinking, dog. This made me chuckle at the dumb thought.

****

5 p.m., I walked through the thick wet woods, of Forks, and I held a bag with me, trying to find a spot that, was perfect. It was my chance to get time to myself, dad didn't know I was out here considering the animal attacks. When I found a nice spot. When I sat against a tree and started to read, I didn't pay attention to my surroundings until I heard a large crack. I froze, and after was a growl. I slowly peeked around the tree to see a huge black wolf, and it looked startled as if it was expecting something else. I didn't know what to do, and my dumbass decided to just-

"Hello." Say HELLO?! It tilted its head at me and walked towards me, at arm's length. "You're bigger than a normal wolf. I've seen wolves before." I said and it looked up at me. "Why do you look so calm?" I tilted my head. I picked my book up again, and it sat with me until I noticed it was getting dark, I got up and packed up my things but... I looked around and everything looked the same, rather than in clear daylight. "Oh no.." I mumbled, I heard the wolf get up and run away, but a second later I turn my head in the opposite direction at the sound of a clearing of the throat. I saw a man, wearing shorts and shoes, no shirt.

"Are you lost?" He asked and I bit my lip nodding slowly. "It's okay, I know these woods like the back of my hand, let me help." He said and I reluctantly nodded. "I'm Sam Uley, what's your name?" He asked and started walking, and I followed along.

"Cecilia," I said and he looked at me.

"Swan?" He asked and I gulped nodding. "You're Jacob Black's new female friend." He said.

"I'm just his friend," I said and he nodded.

"Paul told me. We have our own.." he trailed off as if trying to find a word.

"Pack?" I asked and he looked at me super tense. "Like your pack? A group?" I asked. "Pack is a weird word I guess but, I got thinking about it because I saw a wolf back there," I said and he nodded.

"A-A wolf?" He asked.

"Yeah big and black, but calm, he sat next to me for a few hours," I said smiling and he smiled looking down.

"Sounds sweet." He said looking forward, his face stone cold but that similar calm feeling was there. That was an odd response from him, I was expecting him to warn me or say how dumb I sounded but no...

"It was. It reminds me when-." I stopped, that's when I saw my backyard. "Oh, we're here. Thank you." I said and he nodded at me. I ran off and walked in the back door, but stopped to look at him. "Thanks again!" I yelled and he waved at me before running off into the woods. I walked in and while walking to the stairs I bumped into Bella. Shed just got home too. "Bella! You'll have no idea what I saw today." I said and she looked at me, almost like she was lost in thought.

"Huh?" She asked.

"I saw a giant wolf," I said and she stood straight.

"Wolf? Where did you see a wolf?"

"Uh.. the woods," I said rubbing my neck and she sighed.

"You shouldn't be going into the woods alone what if the wolf attacked you?" She said beginning to go upstairs.

"But it didn't, it sat with me, and I read it from my book, it was laying with me," I said and she laughed.

"Okay Cece."

"I also got lost tho," I said rolling my eyes.

"Wait, how'd you get back." She looked at me.

"Sam Uley. He's a friend of Jacobs apparently, and he helped me out of the woods."

"And he just happened to walk upon you?" She asked skeptically. "How do you know he wasn't watching you like a creep."

"I-I.." I looked down and I heard her mumble under her breath.

"So naive."

"Says the one pursuing a guy that's so creepy it's like he can read minds, and told me I smelt like a dog," I said and she looked at me biting her lip. "Don't call me naive. Your crush looks like he died and came back." I said shoving her aside on the stairs and walking up into my room closing the door harshly.

****

The next day I woke up late. Bella was gone and so was dad so I guess, I wasn't going to school today. I walked out of my room and froze walking past Bellas. I looked in seeing these creepy images on her laptop. I walked in and sat down and rested my arm on the desk but felt a book. I looked and read- "The Whole Quileute legend." I mumbled the title. I opened it flipping through, "Wolves." I whispered remembering Jacob saying they were descendent of wolves. "Shapeshifter," I mumbled as I continued to read. "The Quileutes were and still are believed shapeshifters, one of the wolf." I looked at the screen and a picture with another link saying. "The cold one. A vampire. Enhanced speed, strength... Edward, Bella said Edward stopped the car... I witnessed it. I was on the other side, Edward, teleported.. or ran, and stopped the car." I mumbled, trying to put this together in my head. Alice, his sister grabbed my hand, it was freezing, his eyes aren't a normal colour, this weird gold colour. So if the Cullens are.. the cold ones. That means.. the Quileute Tribe are the-

Suddenly a large horn went off in my ears.

Chapter 4: Connected Puzzle, Missing Pieces.

Chapter Text

When I heard the horn I got up looked out the window and saw Jacob getting out of the light yellow truck I saw at his place, he had a smile and saw me looking at him, waved and looked excited, I rolled my eyes playfully, I couldn't help but giggle at him a little. I moved back to Bella's desk and grabbed the book, threw it in my room, closed my door so Bella wouldn't see, went downstairs and grabbed my jacket, pulled it on, and then my boots. I stepped outside to see him leaning on the truck and when he looked at me he bit his lip nervously suddenly, I couldn't help but start playing with my sleeves as I also felt those nerves spark up.

"Hey Cece." He chirped, though nervously rubbing his hands together.

"Hey there, Jacob." I giggled and walked over to him, shoving my hands in my pockets to contain my jitteriness. "What's this?" I mumbled, playing dumb and he grinned awkwardly as he slapped the hood.

"I uh, finished your gift." He said proudly, looking for my reaction and I looked at the truck, it looked perfect. It was amazing.

"I think it's perfect," I said getting excited and waving my hands happily. "Wanna go for a drive?" I asked and he looked at me nodding and ran over to the other side. I got in and started the car.

"Okay you might wanna pull a little harder, but you should be fine." He chuckled and I did as he said, gleefully pulling out, I started to drive, he was staring at me as I was focusing on how the car ran. "I'm sorry for your loss by the way." He said and I looked at him taken back.

"My loss?"

"Wayland Forge. He died last night." He said and I looked forward, Dad's friend...

"Oh... I wasn't told." I said looking down for a second before looking to the road again. He perked worried, "Maybe that's why dad didn't bother to wake me up.. or why Bella left without saying anything." I sighed.

"Wait they just left you at home all day?" He asked and I nodded. "Why?"

"Y'know how people say the youngest gets more attention..?" He nodded. He was also the youngest so he understood. "Well, sometimes it's not like that. Bella has always been the star child, with mom more at least." I said and pushed my hair behind my ear as I drove. He looked at me furrowing his eyebrows.

"How?"

"She was put in ballet, Swimming, and all these things but... I never was, I wasn't put in anything, we went to the same schools but had completely different experiences, I was bullied, and she was popular. I was called a freak, she was called pretty. That's what I don't understand, everything came easy to her, I had to work." I said and he leaned forward looking at me, listening intently. "You're probably the only friend that I didn't have to... fight to get or that, actually thought I was trying, I guess."

"Why wouldn't... Why wouldn't you be trying?" He asked and I pulled the car over and parked.

"I don't know, I haven't known. Sometimes I think I try so hard that I overwhelm people and then I stop... Trying so hard that they think I have stopped caring as much...I guess I wasn't meant to have friends." I sighed and he grabbed my hand making me look at him.

"Well, obviously you were meant to have one." He smiled reassuringly.

****

I sat at home in my bedroom reflecting, it's been a long week.. since I saw Bella's laptop, and since, Bella started dating Edward. It didn't seem to be a coincidence that after I saw that they started dating not even 2 days later. Jacob, he and I hadn't been hanging much since.. since I've been distracted, by the amount of research I've done, even when he was here and he was currently over, and he was looking around my room for the first time essentially, I was searching things up while trying to keep up a conversation and I sighed until I flopped my hands down on my laptop getting a bit frustrated and a picture popped up, I looked at it and my eyes widened. 1844, a painting of a four-person group, but the guy in the back, I zoomed in and saw, Dr. Cullen or at least someone who was identical to him. I sent it to myself on my phone and I closed my laptop and Jacob looked at me.

"Jacob.. do you need a ride home.?" I asked and he nodded. "Cause I just remembered an errand I needed to run for Dad." I smiled and we left.

After I dropped him off, I drove to Edward's house, I almost got lost but Bella had described the way to me in one of her love rants. I pulled up and got out running up to the house and knocking on his door, waiting a little while until I saw him, it was Edward who came to it. He sighed deeply at me before even opening the door, he opened it and looked at me.

"Me, you, talk now," I said before he could even say hello, I admit I've been a pain to him since our last interaction. I didn't see a point in stopping now, especially now that I knew what he was. He stepped out and closed the door, and I shook my head. "In total privacy," I said pointing to my car. I jumped down and I walked over to my truck, getting in and he followed getting in.

"Okay Cecilia." He said and watched me pull out and start driving silently, not saying anything to him, he sighed looking out the window. "Okay... you mean, private." He said and I nodded, finally, I stopped the car on the side of the road and looked at him.

"So..." I waited... "Hey Vamp boy," I said and his headshot to me. "Now I've got your attention."

"Huh?" He looked surprised.

"You. A vampire, y'know it's the real funny cause.. you look it, like, the fact that you're perfect- stone even looking... I feel like it makes sense. I even made it as an insult directed at Bella back a week ago saying you looked like you died and came back." I said looking at him, chuckling to myself and he laughed a little.

"You and Bella are both so bold." He said leaning back. "So how-" I cut him off by tossing my phone in his lap. He picked it up and gulped. "Where did you find this?"

"Oh simple, apparently hitting your laptop opens a lot of possibilities," I said and faced him more. "Edward," I said and he looked at me.

"Yeah..?"

"If you are real... And you were a part of the Quileuttes legends does that mean... Are Quileuttes... Actually... Wolves?" I asked and he bit his lip. "Werewolves?"

"I-"

"I saw them I think... I think I'd even believe it even if you say no... So you're saying yes," I said he smiled, also laughing at how I spoke, I saw that I was right. He lulled his head back and sighed.

"Yeah." He muttered. "They are.." He admitted looking at me defeatedly.

Chapter 5: Imprint.

Chapter Text

It was calm and quiet, dad and I were sitting in the living room watching baseball, I was staring out the window thinking about how I would confront Jake, looking out at the full moon smiling thinking about him... That was when Bella burst in. "Edward, I said leave me alone!" She shouted.

"Bella please," Edward mumbled and both Dad and I shot up concerned. I gulped and Dad ran after Bella, I looked at Edward and he looked at me. "Cecilia." He mumbled and I shook my head. Not wanting to listen but I did anyway.

"What?" I asked walking to the screen door.

"Go to Jacobs." He said and I gulped.

"Why?" I mumbled becoming increasingly concerned.

"Why do you think?" Vampires? I suddenly thought of Wayland... "Just do it." He said turning around and walking away. I watched Bella run downstairs and past me out the door.

"Bella," I called as Dad stood next to me.

"Bells I just got you back," Dad muttered sadly and I looked at her.

"Yeah... and if I... If I don't get out now I'll be stuck here like mom." She let out and walked out, I was gobsmacked- I gawked at her repeating what Mom said to my dad about being stuck. I walked out after her.

"Bella!" I shouted and grabbed her hand stopping her. "Bella, what about me?" I asked and she looked at me. I didn't understand completely what was going on.

"Yeah well.. you-you belong here." She said and pushed me away, I slipped on the wet ground and fell. She turned and contemplated... "Freak." She suddenly added but her eyes were glossy with tears as she got in her truck pulled out, and drove away. I stood up and felt my hands sting, as I got this rush of rage. I got in my truck and started it, I saw my dad step out.

"I'll be back Daddy, I promise," I said looking at him as I jumped in and pulled out, driving away from the opposite way. While driving I let out a blood-curdling scream of rage. "FUCKIN BITCH!" I felt tears brim my eyes, even if she didn't mean it! Even if it was all a show- FUCK HER! Freak!? Out of all the things you can call me, you for the gut-stabbing option? I pulled up to Jacobs, though I stayed in the car, I started to cry because that was better than being debilitatingly angry and I fell silent after a while, but I heard a knock on my window. I saw a worried Jacob standing in the rain I didn't notice was pouring. He stepped back as I opened the door and looked at him.

"Cece is everything okay?" He asked and I looked at him, stepping into the rain and closing my door. I looked at him and my eyes began to water more. We stood facing each other as I looked at him.

"Is it true?" was all I could ask kinda raising my voice because thunder and pounding of the rain, and he looked confused.

"What is?"

I didn't think ahead and all I could ask him- was what I needed clarity and comfort from. "Am I.. am I a freak?" I asked looking him in the eyes. "Do I belong here? In this town? Without friends." I said wiping my eyes as they stung.

"Cece. You have friends." He said.

"Oh yeah? At school? The only person I see is you, but even then... you've.. you've been acting weird and.. and..." He had been acting odd, and it was since Bella started dating Edward... Wait what if- "I'm just now realizing... I don't ever see your eyes on me when she's around." I said stepping back. His eyes widened. "Wow," I mumbled and turned away, I felt him grab my hand, and I hissed, pulling my hand back and looking at my hands seeing open scrapes. "Leave me alone for a while," I said and he looked at me. "I see now all you wanted.. was to get close to my sister." Maybe it was years of people doing that to me, years of being invisible... This was just my insecurities... But I'd rather be invisible and suffering while being seen. I opened the truck door and got in, but he stopped me from closing the door.

"Cecilia that's... that's not true." I heard him choke, and he hesitated. Why did he hesitate? Why me? Why...

"Then why did you hesitate?!" I cried out, he looked at me looking very taken aback. I couldn't help my mouth. "Fuck off," I growled closing my door going in drive, and pressing on the gas...

Months Later

I hadn't talked to him since but my feelings were only proven true when Edward left Bella and... After months of her agonizing depression, she came home saying she was hanging out with Jacob of all people... Fuck you, Bella, for real... She never apologized to me- and now this? Knowing he and I had a falling out? What the fuck kind of big sister was she? I even turned 17 a month and a half before Edward left before Bella turned 18... by myself, except Dad... He remembered... I heard from her he cut all his hair off, and got a tattoo when he got sick one day, she was so anxious when he wasn't talking to her. I was so annoyed. Honestly, I was surprised He left. Edward genuinely left, as did I essentially, I was barely at home anymore, considering Bella's obnoxious nightmare/night terror screaming.

I walked into my house one day, walking upstairs and into the hall when I heard talking in my sister's room and I saw the door open, freezing when I heard Jacob, I slipped into the bathroom area and watched him go to my room, look in and sigh before going back in Bells. I sighed and walked past the rooms as fast as I could.

I didn't want to see him. But I did. I wanted him to hug me because heaven knows, I've missed him. I wished it wasn't true that he was just using me. All the signs point to the fact that he was... It was straight depressing. I walked outside and walked to my truck. I looked down and opened my door Stopping when I heard a clearing of the throat. I froze, keeping my head down.

"I said leave me alone, you're her friend now..." I mumbled and I got in the truck closing the door pulling out and driving away. My eyes stinging and threatening tears.

****

I heard yelling downstairs and I sat up listening... What the hell was going on? All I could hear was Bella. I got up walking downstairs, I peeked around the corner, seeing Jacob following Bella outside and I sighed watching her from the screen door leaning on the door frame, then I saw Alice. "Alice?" I mumbled in disbelief, something must have been going on, I couldn't help myself, and I walked outside with only a tank and shorts on, shivering with the wind.

"Jake, she's not the one you should be worrying about," Alice said and he scoffed. "She isn't even your imprint." She said rolling her eyes. "I've seen her future and it's bleak." She spoke, and it confused me a little before she was driving away rapidly with Bella in the car.

"Where the fuck is she going now," I mumble helplessly, I felt horrible for my father, he was gonna be pissed and Jacob stiffened hearing my voice. I looked at him and quickly turned to go back inside.

"Cecilia, wait!" He said and I stopped but I didn't look at him, I wanted to hear what he had to say, to see his face. "Please just talk to me." He said and I grunted closing my eyes in annoyance.

"No," I said, why when you only proved my right- god I was so soft for him but he was so mean...

"No- please. Look remember how you said all I was doing was using you to get to Bella?" He asked and I slowly nodded. "I wasn't. I- I genuinely enjoyed our time together." He admitted. I could not help but feel hurt even by these admissions.

"You sure replaced me quickly," I muttered and he fell silent.

"No. I didn't. Something about hanging out with Bella has been... wrong. And I know why. She isn't.. she isn't the one for me." He mumbled. "Not the way I need- that how I felt around you-"

"You're talking crazy now." I spat trying to make him just stop or get to his point.

"Imprint. It is like finding your soulmate. A mate. Everyone has one but I -.." he stopped. I wanted to understand why he was talking about it, what he was talking about, imprint? What was that?

"Go on," I mumble.

"I don't care about the rules, Cece, I'm-" He struggled. Oh... That.

"I already know," I said looking down. I turned finally, looking him in the eyes, He looked at me confused. "Wolf boy, I'm no idiot. 'Did you know the Quileuttes are descended from wolves? Oh yeah, and did you know the Cullens are an enemy tribe', Bella, buys a book about 'the cold ones' i find it, find out about Edward, see a giant black wolf in the woods but oh, look who walking me home seconds after it disappears? Sam Uley." I said and he looked at me wide-eyed, except this is when I looked at him. "But who gets left behind? The only girl with a damn brain-"

He was staring into my eyes as if he wasn't even looking at me anymore. He fell to his knees and dropped his head. Kinda dramatically, what the fuck? "Cecilia. I'm sorry... I.." he looked at me, I was weirded out at this point so I turned. So done.

"Imma head in." I sighed walking to the door and grabbing the door handle but I felt him grab my wrist. I turned seeing his face inches away from mine.

"I-I.." he stuttered. "Wolves have.. mates right?" He asked and I nodded slowly.

"That's how they reproduce yes." I sighed and he nodded.

"Well, werewolves do too." He said. "And often wolves can't find their mates." He said and I rolled my eyes not in the mood to have this wolf lecture. "I hoped Bella was mine but now I realize it's only because... I wanted to be closer to you. I started to hang out with Bella because you stopped talking to me and I wanted to get back to being close to you." He let out a long confession that didn't seem to have an ending.

"Jacob spit it out." I sighed.

"You're my mate. My imprint." He said and I stared at him, confused and trying to understand.

"What?"

I sat in my living room. "So you made Edward believe Bella was dead and then proceeded to beg her to stay, only to realize... I was..." I put my face on my knees. "What does that mean?! I'm yours or something.?" I mumbled and he sighed, he sat on the floor, with his back against the couch where I sat.

"There's a lot to explain but.. being my imprint means we were made for each other." He said and I gulped. "A perfect match." He sighed. "Y'know Cecilia I wasn't ever using you. but it sure did seem that way.. huh?" He mumbled and I looked at him, nodding slowly. He leaned his head back looking up at me. "It's weird." He said and slowly turned around and got up on the couch.

"What is..?" I mumbled and he smiled.

"When you were crying in the rain, I really couldn't help but think, you looked so gorgeous." He said and got on his knees leaning in a bit. "The way you looked at me for help, I wanted to help but, when you started to.. get scared, that look I wanted to completely wipe away.." he said and I looked at him, biting my lip. "That look." He said pointing at me. He reached up grabbing my cheek, I gulped and started to lean to me. "I don't like that look." He whispered before leaning in and his lips grazing mine, suddenly the door burst open.

"Bella?! Cecilia.!?" Dad yelled and Jacob jumped back. Dad saw us and ran over. "Oh thank god, Cece where's Bella?!" He asked and I looked at Jacob.

"I-I don't know. She got in a car with Alice and She didn't tell me where she was going, something about Edward being sick or something so she left." I said and he sighed but then noticed Jacob.

"Jacob?" He mumbled looking at him, but then looked at me, I bit my lip awkwardly trying to hide my burning face by looking down. "Did I walk in on something?" Dad asked making me blush even more and I shook my head.

"N-No, Jacob and I were.. just talking.." I bit my lip smiling innocently and Dad looked at Jacob who nodded in agreement.

"Okay.. well, your sister, is grounded for... Until college," Dad said before getting a message on his radio. "I gotta go love, but uh.. don't do anything, y'know, dumb." He said kissing my head and I nodded watching him walk out before giving us one more look.

"Your dad's very.. spazzy." He said and I nodded.

"I know."

Chapter 6: Struggle.

Chapter Text

I was standing in Emily and Sam's home when I heard Emily call my name, all the boys sat at the table including Jacob, who was holding two of her classic muffins, he held it out and I walked over, taking it and his smile was bright, I'd walked over to Emily, and Rachel. Rachel was Jacobs's older sister, one of them, she'd returned for the summer and Paul saw her, and imprinted. Meaning if Jake and I ever became more, in the Farthest future. He'd be my brother-in-law. Odd concept. I looked at Rachel, and she smiled fondly at me, her heart was as big as Jakes. I looked at her, she shared the soft-featured of her brother, and it made me smile. "Is it just like this forever? They do runs and us Sitting, waiting, seeing which will come injured or worse." I whispered and they looked at me, Emily and Rachel shared the same understanding look.

"I suppose you're right, what can we do, while the Cold Skinned is here, they don't age."

"But we do," I whispered looking away. They nodded slowly, they understood how I felt, especially being new at this girlfriend shit. Even if the word between me and Jacob hadn't been spoken, we were more. He'll the way he's been wrapping his arms around me lately says it all.

"Cece, come outside with me," Quil said and I looked at him nodding, I followed him out and patted Jake as I passed. "So how's it going with Jake? He seems so much happier."

"He is, blindly I guess. But it's all good, just-"

"Has he even asked you to date him?"

"I thought that was a given?"

He suddenly laughed. "I mean no, he should still ask, he's a normal guy."

"Then make him," I said and he smirked.

"Oh, I will."

****

I sat at Billy's kitchen table, Jacob wanted me around all the time, and Billy knew now that I knew, and that was universally chosen for his son. I sat with Paul staring at each other, it was awkward, Paul had a temper, and I was told he lost his shit on Bella back in the beginning when she found out, which was much after I had. "So." I hummed and he hummed back. "Why is Sam the... Alpha? Chief?" I asked and he looked down.

"He's both technically, but he wasn't supposed to be." He said and I tilted my head.

"Was Jacob?" I asked and he looked at me slowly nodding. "I knew it, he told me the story of the treaty between you and the Cullens... His great-grandfather was the Chief, so why isn't he?" I asked and he hummed.

"He turned it down, kinda smart in my opinion, Sam is the oldest of us all, he learned through struggles he had to deal with being alone, even after hurting Emily." He said and I nodded slowly.

"Can he make the decision again?" I asked and he nodded shrugging.

"I suppose, if Sam wanted to stop, or if he brought it up with the elders." He explained and I nodded smiling softly. "Why, would you want him to be Chief?" He asked and I shrugged. "I heard your conversation with Rachel and Emily, you think it would make you feel better? It won't. It'll make you feel worse, way worse. Because he is the one leading us, not bossing us around, leading." He leaned forward, he was getting a little aggressive and I looked down and sighed.

"Paul, is it healthy for you to have undealt with anger issues as a werewolf?" I asked and he stared at me, his nose flaring. "Where... your abilities act up due to anger?"

"I caught the end of that, that's a good question," Jacob said walking in laughing I looked over at him and Paul looked at him. "Calm down Paul, before you do something regrettable." He said Rachel walked in and Jacob walked over putting his hand on my shoulder and leaning down and looking at me I smiled softly at him, Rachel went and did the same thing, patting his shoulder except, she leaned down, kissed him and I looked at them, and then Jacob, wishing I could do the same thing. Sometimes I struggled with not kissing him when he moved close to me and he got close enough for one strong lean.

"Come on." He pulled me up and I nodded, getting up and he pulled me into his room, Jacob was big, and so was Paul, but Jake was bigger, muscled, 6'5, and so gentle, his touching was so gentle that it made me want to curl into him, hell I could lay completely on top of him. He pulled me into his room closing the door, he pulled me to the bed and I could read the situation, he wanted to lay with me. I pushed him a bit and he fell onto his bed, laying back, I chuckled at him and he pulled me down onto him, but the way I situated myself on him was nerve-racking, my legs were swung around his hips, straddling him, when I got in this position, I leaned down and hid in his chest so he wouldn't look at me. "So..." He mumbled and I looked at him curiously. "Embry, Quil and I all had a long talk." He said and I nodded, god he didn't. "Quil was ranting and all." He waved his hand and I sat upon him. "He reminded me I had forgotten something." He said sitting up too, our chests pressing into each other, and he held me so I didn't move away. "I'm surprised you didn't say anything until I brought up with Quil and he told me something you said." He said and I nodded again, slowly. "It's not a given, just because you're my imprint." He whispered. "You deserve this." He held my cheek in his hands. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked and I slowly started nodding over and over. "Yeah?" He mumbled.

"Yeah, yes." I blurted out and he smiled, he leaned in our lips getting as close as they did back when he told me I was his imprint, but this time, with no interruption, he pressed his into mine, our lips almost immediately becoming passionate, his hands going to my hips and mine sliding into his hair and we started to move with the kiss, the more passionate it got the more our hands moved, the more our bodies moved against each other, he flipped me over, full control over me, he pressed me into the bed and the faster we moved, but before it got anywhere I wouldn't want to stop, we stopped, not only did he just verbally ask me out but Paul and Rachel are right outside that door. his hands slowly pushed my arms up over my head and pinned them on the pillow, his lips pecking my skin, his lips on my neck when the doorknob turned and the door flew open.

"Cecilia! Dad-" Bella froze, as did we, Jacob raised his head and I started to move up, he let go of my arms and I gawked.

"Bella-" I tried untangling myself from Jacob, I fell off the bed and got up as fast as I could.

"Really?" she waved her hands as he turned to walk out and I stormed after her whipping her back around to look at me, unknowingly Billy had returned home, and was right there, with Paul and Rachel, and Jacob who was leaving the room, AND the pack was outside.

"Really what Bella?" I said and she turned looking at me.

"Really. Him, him?" She pointed at Jacob. "Anyone in this whole town- you choose Jacob Black? OUR friend, Dad's best friend's son?" She spat and I clenched my fists.

"I didn't choose Jacob, he chose me! the first person ever- chose me over anyone else! Over you!" I pointed at her. "I am tired- tired of being invisible! Jake sees me! This Pack Sees Me!" I yelled and her eyes widened. "I'm a part of their family, and I'm seen, as for me, not a freak, Jake invited me to his family powwows, the fires where elders tell stories! I feel more like a family member than I ever have with you!" I yelled and the whole house was silent.

"You know?" She asked and I nodded.

"I knew before you," I said and her eyes widened again. "I know about Edward, the weird animal blood Cullens, HE TOLD ME AFTER I CONFRONTED HIM!" I yelled and I saw Paul's eyes widen. "At least I'm not fucking the undead!" I snapped and I heard the whole team laugh, the ones outside the door and inside the house.

"I-I'm not- I'm a virgin. I can't say the same thing about you-"

"THAT'S NOT YOUR BUSINESS!" I yelled and her face contorted. "It never will be! nothing is your business, you've never cared, so why do you now!?"

"You're my little sister!" She yelled and I felt this rage build up, no, this was already built up, it's been built up since... forever.

"Who always had less than you!" I growled. "I am less than you!" I said and she stared, the pack started booing and yelling. 'No, you aren't!' and 'We love you!' "To you," I added standing up taller. "Now if you're here to judge me, go do it at your pulse-less boyfriend's house," I said and she stared at me.

"You sound like a wolf." She said and I looked at Jacob, and back at her.

"Not a wolf, just imprinted with one," I said and Bella's eyes widened once more, she just thought we were together for the fun of it, not because he had imprinted.

"He-" She looked at him and turned.

"Oh, Bella!" I said and she froze. "Tell Dad I'm staying the night," I said and she just continued and walked out. "I know he won't mind!" I yelled and as she left completely my body went loose and I felt tears fill my eyes, Jacob was to me in seconds holding me as I began to cry.

"Okay! That was pretty badass." Quil walked into the house and I hid in Jake's chest. suddenly I felt a body behind me and there was Quil and then another, they all piled up, and even Paul and Sam hugged too, Billy tried as Sam said.

"You'll always be a part of this family." he rubbed my head. "A part of this pack." He added and Embry laughed.

"Oh hell yeah, we need a girl like you around to keep the Cold ones away!" He yelled and I laughed as Jake rubbed my head too. Once the pack dispersed everyone went back to what they were doing. Jake looked at me.

"You staying the night?" he asked and I nodded at him.

"Oh hell yeah," I said and he smiled. He walked over to me wrapping his arms around me and Billy hummed.

"So, what do you kids want for supper?" Billy asked and I smiled and shrugged.

"B-B-Burgers!" The boys yelled purposely stuttering it, I laughed and pushed my head into his chest, if this was my life until I died, I loved it.

The next day walking through the school, during school, it was the only time I didn't see Jacob, who I did see was the Cullens, plus Bella, who was currently very upset with me and I didn't really care, Bella sat with the Cullens and again I felt someone grab me and put me in a seat and I looked seeing all of Bella's friends who were still upset with her because of what happened when Edward left.

"What's up with Bella?" Newton asked and I shrugged.

"She's lovesick," I said, I started to eat and they stared. "You guys didn't see her, the way she was... night terrors, like screaming bloody murder, half the time I was on the Rez, or going to a motel to sleep," I said and they all looked concerned. "She's... better now that he's back, but it's not healthy." I shrugged.

"Well, what about you two?" Tyler wrapped his arm around me and I sighed. "You don't seem on good terms."

"We aren't, we play... are playing for two different teams," I said and they nodded slowly.

"We noticed you've been getting picked up by some of the Rez boys, like... almost all of them," Mike said. "Especially Jacob Black." He said and I nodded.

"Yeah, Basically, I live out there now," I said and he stared. "Jacob and I are close." I expressed eating my food.

"Isn't Jacob like... that one guy Bella started hanging out with repeatedly?" Jessica said and I nodded.

"We're all childhood friends,"

"Oh, so that's why you both hang out with him." She said and I nodded along.

"Is he hitting on my baby?" Tyler leaned into me and I rolled my eyes at him, he always flirted with me and Bella, but once he found out he didn't have a chance with Bella he picked me. "My baby swan-"

"Don't call me that." I partially laughed because of the silly yet clever nickname, he smiled at me seeing I liked his nickname, I hoped it didn't provoke more though, during the day I felt eyes on me, and at some point, I walked into the bathroom and there was Alice and Rosalie, I stopped for a second and walked to the stall and used it when I walked out they were still here, I walked to the sink and used it, they both watched me and suddenly Rosalie said my name.

"Cecilia." She said and I froze, looking at her through the mirror. "Messing with wolves?" She asked and I smiled softly.

"Rosalie?" I said her name the way she said mine, with strain. "Still the undead eating live stag?" I asked and she looked almost amused.

"You have a brain, but you don't at the same time." She said and I hummed. "Not as dumb as your sister, at least you don't wanna become what you converse with." She said and I tensed.

"What?" I whispered and her eyes met mine through the reflection of the mirror.

"Rosalie... she didn't know," Alice said and I stared into her golden contacts.

"My sister... Wants to be one of you?" I asked and Rosalie nodded.

"Maybe she can talk her out of it," Rosalie said and I shook my head.

"I can't. Bella always has gotten her way, one way or another." I said and they looked at me. "She doesn't listen to me, never has," I said and they stared. "I don't hate you guys, she thinks I do. You are still... People." I said and both their shoulders slacked hearing this. "Dead or not. You were us once, and however, you became this isn't my business. I just wished my sister and I weren't such opposites, maybe we could live in peace, but I'm the wolf girl, and she's the vampire girl." I said and they stared. "Like how you guys probably wished you could get along with the wolves," I said and Alice nodded.

"Maybe because there's two Swan's bridging the gap, we will be at one," Alice said and I hummed.

"Few can hope."

"Won't come without a struggle," Rosalie said like her pessimistic ass.

Chapter 7: Tender Moments.

Chapter Text

When summer hit it was like hell to be around Bella. I mean hell because she barely talked to me, Dad noticed it and it was heavily obvious. I remember around the beginning of summer Dad grabbed my hand. "What's going on with you and Bells?"

"Well..." I hadn't told him about Jake and me. "I don't know if Billy has said anything to you but..." I sighed. "Jake and I are in a relationship, Daddy," I said and he looked surprised. "You remember the night Bella left and you came home and found Jake and me alone? He had told me how he felt about me... I reciprocated his feelings." I said, he smiled a little.

"I like him way better than Edward." I laughed out loud. "I mean- he's Billy's son, I think that's awesome sweetheart... But, what does that have to do with Bells?"

"I didn't tell her but she kind of... Walked in on Jake and I cuddling." His eyes widened. "I mean- literally! Just cuddling! I swear." I said making an X motion over my heart. "But she got upset- really- upset." I looked down at the table. "She emphasized that it was wrong of me to start dating him because he was both our friend... Daddy- you and Jake... Jakes family... They're the only ones that make me feel seen.-" My voice began cracking... I never told him how I felt. He looked so worried and sympathetic. "Momma... She liked Bella more than me."

"Baby- no that's not- your mom loves you just the same." He said and I looked away.

"Did you see my swimming photos or metals? What about ballet? Soft ball?" I looked at him and he opened and closed his mouth. "Dad Bella was put in everything she was interested in... I... Never had that. Mom just saw me... She saw you in me." I looked at him. "I begged her to let me come home to you every year but she refused." I felt my eyes begin to sting. "I just wanted to go home." He stood up and walked around the table and pulled me up into his arms.

"You're home now sweetheart." He held me to him and I began to cry. "Daddy Loves you... You want to go into any sports?" I laughed.

"No Daddy, but I heard the games on?" I asked and he smiled pulling me to the living room. We watched the game but also talked, he was asking about Jake and me, and I told him everything I was allowed to. I didn't know that Edward was lying in Bella's bed telling her my confession. I didn't know she felt bad for everything... How was I supposed to? She never said anything before...

I lay in the grass of Jakes back yard with my head on his shoulder telling him about it all. He listened playing with my hair. "I'm glad you got it all off your chest... Your dad did a good job too making you feel better." He said and I smiled nodding. "I'm also glad you told him about us. Also how he reacted."

"Yeah." I laughed.

"How did he react?" We jumped seeing Embry rolling on the grass next to us. Almost The whole pack coming up to us.

"Said it was awesome." I smiled and laughed. "That he liked Jake better than Eddie," I said and Quil chuckled.

"Damn straight, it is."

"He better." Embry teased twirling my hair like Jake was and I smiled. That's when I saw a girl. "Who is that?" I asked as she was lagging behind everyone.

"You remember Henry?" Jake asked.

"Clearwater? Yeah, he was a good man, dad helped with the funeral." I said and he nodded.

"That's his daughter Leah." She looked awkward. She stayed by the clearing of the woods while the boys splayed on the grass. "She was dating Sam... Before he imprinted on Emily. Now she's a wolf and we don't hear the end of it." I slapped his chest.

"They probably didn't hear the end of it when I wasn't talking to you."

"Literally." Embry rolled his eyes.

"Exactly so be nice," I said getting up and walking toward her, she didn't notice immediately but she saw me when I was about there, and she froze. "Hi Leah," I said and she kept her arms crossed, silent. "I never got to tell you sorry for your loss... Henry was a good man." Her shoulders began to slack as I leaned on the tree in front of her. "You don't have to be over here."

"I can hear the way they think about me-"

"Jake was the same way," I said and she looked disbelieving. "Before he imprinted I told him to basically never talk to me again," I said and she looked surprised. "Thought he wanted my sister," I said and She stayed silent so I continued. "Then one night, we bumped into each other after... A whole slew of things and he ended up imprinting, which was a shock to me because even if I knew werewolves were a thing I didn't know they did that let alone on me. I think you're lucky- you know someone out there is made for you... I always thought I was gonna be unwanted my whole life." I whispered and she stared. "Anyway! What I'm trying to say is- girls stick together. Friends?" I asked holding my hand out and she slowly took it. I smiled and suddenly dragged her over to the group, the boys cheered and I pulled her to sit next to Jake and me, she smiled at me awkwardly. Suddenly a truck pulled up and out came Sam and Emily.

"Yall want food?!" She called getting out and pulling a basket we all clapped and they came over, Sam smiled awkwardly at Leah who didn't smile back I leaned into Jake as he sat up and she took the food out which was a shit ton of sandwiches and Sam started handing water out from his backpack, he went to hand to Leah but she looked away I reached over and took the two he was holding smiling, and held it to Leah. She looked and slowly took it, we passed out sandwiches and I took one for Leah again handing it to her, and she took it awkwardly, I handed it on to Jake and he took it excitedly. I began eating mine, I looked at Sam and he smiled at me, mouthing a 'Thank you' and I nodded smiling, happy I could somewhat contribute to the pack.

That night, I lay with Jake in his bed, him holding me close to him, his kisses on my jaw making me all hot as I hummed. Though I wanted to talk to him. "Jake!" I grabbed him and he looked at me smiling, I couldn't help but giggle at his smile I moved up and grabbed his hands. "I want to go cliff jumping," I said and he looked surprised but also uncomfortable with that statement.

"I don't know, babe." He said slowly and I laid over his chest.

"Please!"

"Your sister tried and almost died." He said pushing my hair back.

"First, I'm not my sister, I'm way better. Secondly, I have you." I tapped his nose and he rolled his eyes. "Jake I would never go jumping off a fucking cliff without you," I said pushing my hand through his hair.

"You promise?" He asked and I nodded.

"I promise. How about we wait for a nice hot day, and then just me and you go cliff jump and then chill on the beach?" I asked and he looked at me nodding.

"Okay fine." He said and I laughed clapping, suddenly we heard a knock. "Come in!" He yelled and Billy popped the door open.

"Hey you two, Cece your dad called, and said he wanted you to come home for dinner." He said and I gasped.

"At the diner?" I asked and he nodded. "I forgot, Dad wants to take us to the Diner, bye Bub," I kissed his lips quickly getting up and hugging Billy. "Thanks for having me over again Billy, you're the best."

"Every time you come over it's cleaner than it ever was before, so I don't mind at all." He said hugging back and I chuckled. I did clean but it was usually after Jake, who tended to leave things lying around.

"Bye, you two!" I said.

"Bye, hun!" Billy said.

"Bye, I'll call you tomorrow!" Jake called after me as I ran out and I jumped into my truck. I went to dinner and walked in smiling.

"Sorry, Dad!" I walked to our corner, he smiled up at me, but Bella didn't.

"How's Jake?" He asked and I smiled.

"Great! We had a picnic with the whole group, I met Henry Clearwater's daughter, she and I got along great!" I said and he tilted his head smiling.

"I think that's amazing hunny... Sue has been asking to stop by... I think it's a good idea to be there for them... It's hard for them." He said and I nodded.

"I have yet to meet Seth though, I hope they start bringing him around, the runt deserves to be a part of all the rough play too," I smirked and he laughed.

"Hey, Dad." Bella interrupted, he looked at her nodding. "Did you want to know how Edward is?" She asked and I saw Cora walk over and ask what I wanted, I asked for my usual and she nodded walking away.

"I'm sure he's fine, always seems to be," Dad said awkwardly. "Edward seems like the type of guy to..." He couldn't find the words.

"Hold his own?" I asked and Dad pointed at me nodding.

"Exactly!" He said looking at Bella. "Not that Jake can't-"

"We know, Eddie has an old soul that's all," I said chuckling to myself as Bella glared at me.

"Yeah, he does." He took a drink of his beer, awkwardly. I looked at Bella, it felt like there was a barrier between us that prevented words from being shared. She stared into my eyes like she wanted to speak, but no words came, it felt so hopeless, even if she knew how I felt, she was too stubborn to talk to me like a sister. I looked down and away as my food was placed in front of me.

"Thank you, Cora," I said and she smiled at me. I began eating quietly. Even with a barrier, enemy clans can still have friendly fire... "How is Edward?" I suddenly asked, her eyes widened at me.

"Hes... He's doing good. Wants to... See you soon actually, says he should get to know you better too." She muttered and I hummed.

"I don't see why not," I said and she still stared in shock. "Plan a day," I said and she nodded slowly. "Speaking of a day, Jake and I are going Cliff jumping." Dad choked on his drink and Bella coughed too.

"No way!" He said and I smiled lovingly at him.

"Don't worry daddy! The whole group gonna be there, including Sam Uley! I promised I would only jump with Jake- they've been thousands of times." I said and he looked disbelieving.

"It's dangerous," Bella said.

"If I was alone on a stormy evening maybe, we plan on going on the sunniest day and in the morning with shallow waves, then picnic on the beach," I said kinda jabbing at her, she sighed. "I won't make mistakes others have, Don't worry about me," I said and Dad nodded.

"Billy is okay with it?" He asked.

"If he could, he'd jump to Dad," I said and he laughed suddenly.

"He would, he did. Okay fine, but be super safe, you get hurt and I might not like Jake anymore." He grumbled and I giggled nodding. We finished dinner and walked out to our vehicles, Bella came with Dad.

"Race you home!" I said and Dad glared.

"I'll pull you over." He said and we both laughed at each other, Bella watching kinda clueless. I got in the truck and drove home with the speed limit, I went upstairs to my room to change finally. I stripped to my underwear, finding one of Jake's shirts. I heard a low whistle and I turned seeing Jake hanging off the window sill I rolled my eyes pulled it on and walked over opening the window completely, he pulled himself in.

"I like your shirt." He said and I hummed.

"Really? It belongs to a guy named Jake." I said and he laughed a little leaning down and kissing me and I kissed back. Wrapping my arms around his neck he picked me up and pulled me over to my bed. I pulled from the kiss as we lay down, I couldn't help but yawn.

"Long day?" He asked and I nodded, I reached inside my shirt and removed my bra without taking my shirt off, tossing it aimlessly. "He's here." His nose scrunched a bit and I hummed.

"Smell me," I said pulling him into an embrace where his nose goes into my neck. He hummed deeply. His hands holding me tight. He had told me before Vampires smelled like they were severely freezer-burnt, and that it usually hurt his nose to smell. "He told her I'm here too... They're talking about you... Going to their house?" He looked down at me, and I sighed.

"Bella said that Edward wanted me to get to know the family so I... Told her to plan a day."

"No-" He shook his head.

"Jake it's okay... We don't have to worry about it now." I said and he nodded slowly digging back into me.

"How was dinner?" He asked and I hummed playing with his hair.

"It was good, Dad okayed cliff jumping as long as you are there, asked how you were... Bella talked to me, granted I started it." I rolled my eyes a bit, his heat keeping me warm. God I loved it.

"Humph." He made the sound of how I felt.

"Yeah, exactly," I said and I felt him laugh into my neck and I giggled as it tickled. He rolled on top of me and I snuggled deeper into him like that, he was so large that he covered me entirely when positioned properly, being 6'5 and all, he knew I liked it, as I yawned again. He yawned with me.

"Sleep?"

"Sleep," I muttered back, his hands running along my sides and pecking my neck, I played with his hair and traced circles on his shoulder, until we both slowly stopped while falling asleep.

Chapter 8: Cliff Jumping.

Chapter Text

I stood in the kitchen washing dishes, it was a hot day and sunny, Jake called and asked if I wanted to go cliff jumping I agreed and told him to stop by. I cleaned before he came quickly, and Bella was out with Edward. I went upstairs and put on a bathing suit that made me feel pretty, and threw a tank and shorts on over top of it, I moved on to make some sandwiches with his favourite topping and mine, and I heard a knock. "Come in!" I yelled and a minute later he was walking in, he smiled seeing me, and I smiled back at him.

"Hey Angel," He said and I smiled more at the nickname.

"That one cute," I said and he pulled me into his arms making me smile. I was putting everything in a cooler bag and then turned. "You ready? Because I'm so excited!" I asked smiling wide, he chuckled at me as we walked out, I put the bag in the truck bed and that was when I saw a Silver Volvo pull up and I froze.

"Great-" Jake muttered and I looked at him almost laughing and saw both Bella and Edward getting out, Bella saw us getting ready to leave.

"Where are you two going?" Bella asked and I saw Edward look at Jake suspiciously. Jake stared back.

"Cliff Jumping!" I smiled and Edward looked at me surprised. "Then a picnic on the beach."

"La Push?" Edward asked and I nodded. "Well... Have fun." Bella rolled her eyes.

"Thanks, Edward."

"Let's go, Babe," Jake said turning and hopping into the truck and I turned too.

"Cecilia," Edward said stopping me, I looked at him. "My father wanted to know if you wanted to come over this weekend to get to know us... Better." He mumbled and I looked at him thinking.

"Yeah, sure... I'll drive myself though," I said and he nodded.

"Jake losing his mind the more you talk to me." He said and I hummed.

"How do you know?" I asked and he hummed.

"I can read minds, not Bellas, or yours though. For some reason." He shrugged and I stared.

"Okay... I'm off to jump off a cliff." I got in the truck and pulled out of the driveway. "Edward can read your thoughts?!" I looked at him and he looked at me sighing.

"Forgot about that. Invades your privacy eh?"

"Your privacy yeah, he said he can't read mine or Bella's," I said and he scoffed.

"Jealous." He muttered and I smiled. "I don't want to go to their house." He said and I sighed.

"It might be beneficial to get to know them better, what if... You guys get along one day?" I asked and he gave me a -bitch please- expression, I chuckled. "I mean... If Bella is gonna be one of them soon... I would want to be able to see her after she's turned."

"She wants to be one of them?" He asked and I nodded sighing.

"Yeah, from last I heard some deal is gonna be made or something because some of the Cullens don't want to change her."

"Why wouldn't the Doctor, he changed all of the other freaks." He said and I hummed.

"I don't know. I can ask." I said and he nodded.

"If you get hurt I can't do anything." He said and I sighed.

"They won't. And if they do, you can rip his head off, now mouth from me against it." I said and he smiled.

"You know me so well." He said and I laughed.

"So, let's park at the beach and hike up to the jumping spot?" I asked and he nodded.

"Sounds like a plan." He said still seemingly nervous about doing this with me.

"It'll be okay. I know you will protect me." I said parking and leaning over to kiss his cheek, he looked at me nodding at me. "Just us. Let's have fun." I said and he nodded kissing me passionately before getting out. We stripped to our swimwear and he grabbed my hand leading me into the woods. "Yknow Jake, you never... You never told me what you and Bella did during those few months you hung out." I muttered looking away as we walked, I was looking around at the scenery.

"Not much, she was so dead set on rebuilding those motorbikes, we hung, I fixed the bikes, and talked. She hated talking about Edward so I would ask her about you... She would go into detail about what you had been doing... How you were." He said and I smiled hearing he asked about me. "She also wanted to go hiking to find this... Clearing?" He muttered.

"The meadow?" I asked and he looked at me. "She mentioned Edward would bring her there to be alone... It was their first date."

"Wow. So she tried to bring me to the place that was her and Edwards's place? Ew." He said and I nodded.

"Did you... Did you ever tell her about why we stopped talking?" I asked.

"No... That wasn't her business. She did ask but I told her that you didn't want your dirty laundry hung on a line... She didn't like it but let it go." He explained to me and I smiled again. I moved to him wrapping my arms around his shoulders, suddenly he hoisted me onto his back and I laughed I kissed his warm skin, despite the heat his warmth was still oddly comforting.

"Does imprinting only affect you?" I asked and he grinned.

"I mean- the cosmic tie- I guess I'm the only one that feels it..." He trailed off.

"I feel it," I whispered and he faltered walking a bit before continuing his confident stride.

"You think so?"

"I know so..." I whispered. "It's like 34°C (93°F) and your body heat is still so comforting and... It just feels right." I said and I could see a nice smile on his face. "I could spend eternity with you... just us forever." I whispered and he looked at me, pecking my lips, I pecked back.

"I could too... Grow old with you..." He said and I nodded smiling.

"You'd be sexy with white hair," I said and he chuckled.

"You'd be gorgeous with greys too." He said and I smiled playing with his hair.

"When we grow old together you should grow your hair out again," I said and he smiled.

"For you, I will." He cooed at me and I smiled. He stopped. "We are here." He said and I jumped off his back almost shivering at the loss of heat, I walked to the edge carefully, looking over the edge. I would be lying if I didn't get a little dizzy. "Second thoughts?" He said pulling me away from the edge.

"Pfft! No!" I wrapped my arms around his waist. "I'm nervous...but excited. So how are we gonna do this?" I asked and he smiled.

"I think us jumping together would be best, yeah?" He asked and I nodded beaming. "Okay, you ready?" He took my hand and we faced the cliff, my heart was racing, fast and hard, and his hand clutched mine giving me squeezes. "We can stop any time-"

"No- I'm ready." I smiled at him and he nodded, we took a step back before we jumped together, and I shut my eyes, it was loud! The wind was whipping past my ears I felt deaf, he pulled me against him mid-fall before we hit the water, I opened my eyes under the water to find the surface and we both swam to the top, I gasped for air when we made it up, he looked at me expectantly and I laughed wrapping my arms around his neck. "That was- AWESOME!" I laughed and he laughed with me, treading water.

"Come on!" He said and we began swimming back. We made it to shallow waters and made it up the beach hand in hand. "Honestly that was a lot of fun, sorry I was so worried."

"Don't apologize, you were worried because you care," I said and he smiled nodding at me, I ran to the truck and grabbed the bag and blanket that was always back there, I walked over and laid it out, and he pulled me down as soon as I did, I laughed.

"You always ask questions... It's my turn," he said looking down at me as we lay together. I nodded interested in what he had to ask. "When you graduate what are your plans?"

"I don't know, maybe... Go into policing like dad." I said and he looked surprised. "I've always been interested in it," I said and he nodded curiously. "You?"

"Dad wants me to be a part of the council-"

"No what about you?" I asked and he looked confused. "What do you want?"

"Oh... I don't know. I'm still thinking about it." He muttered. "Okay next, what's the deal with you and your mom? You two like never talk." He inquired and I sighed lying my head back in the blanket, looking at the clouds.

"My mom had Bella when she was happy... Then she had me when she was at a low point in her life. My mom has always been erratic and carefree and those aren't necessarily bad things but... They can be. My dad's parents got sick when Bella was three, I was two. There is a month and a half where Bella and I are the 'same age' because we are only 10 and a half months apart... But to mom, those 10 and so months were the best of her life and then I was born and... I was horrible for her after that. She left him because she felt stuck... They ultimately decided to divorce and try to co-parent the best they could but..." I sighed deeply. "Dad didn't get a fair deal. Until I asked to stay when I was four. Dad asked and Mom agreed to see how it went..." I said and he nodded. "We were close then, you and I," I said and he nodded. "But mom said it was better to keep Bella and I together, so I was forced to leave my home. I was the loner and weird girl in Arizona. I felt so out of place and the more I noticed how... Immature to my mother I longed to go home. I visited Dad every Christmas and even my birthday, my mom was a super control freak that way, and never let me see Dad unless it was a special occasion." I ranted and he nodded along listening to me.

"So why does she like Bella more?"

"Because she was the joy in her life, Bella is a lot like mom- she has habits from dad but... Ultimately she's more like mom. Mom liked that a lot. She put Bella in everything and spoiled Bella with what she wanted, it wasn't until Phil came along that I realized I was third-wheeling my mother and sister, he tried to play dad but he realized all I wanted was, my real dad. Know the bug joke? I haven't heard from her once since Bella fell out that window." I said and he hummed. "That was still about Bella."

"Your mom sounds... Sad." He said and I knew what he meant, sad for me. I nodded. "Would you go visit her if you got the opportunity?" He asked and I nodded again.

"I may not be her favourite person, but she is my mom," I said and he nodded he touched my cheek gently, I closed my eyes feeling his touch and he muttered.

"I wish you got to meet my mom." He said and I looked at him in surprise. He never mentions his mom. "She would have loved you..." He said and I smiled at him, moving and cuddling into him.

"That means a lot, Bub," I said and he held me to him tightly, he smiled at me kissing my lips, listening to the waves. "You want sandwiches?" I asked and he nodded chuckling. We sat up and started to eat, I looked out at the water and saw the waves, I saw a whale breach the surface at one point and thought that was cool, I loved this town and wished I had stayed here forever... Now I could.

Chapter 9: The Cullen's Home.

Chapter Text

It was Saturday and the day Bella wanted to take me to Edwards to meet the Cullens. I was suspicious. I don't know why they wanted to meet me at all, maybe because I knew about them? Was this something that they liked? Or was it because I was dating the supposed-to-be chief? I saw Jake up on my window sill and hopped into my room. He saw me getting ready and sighed. "Today?" he flopped on my bed and looked at me, I nodded.

"Oh yeah, I'm thrilled," I said sighing and sitting down next to him. He looked at me frowning. "What?" I flipped over onto his hips, straddling him, looking at him.

"If they hurt you- I won't know. The treaty..."

"Look, I'll leave asap if anything happens, I swear Jacob. My sister wouldn't let them hurt me." I said leaning down and kissing him. He grabbed my face and kissed me back, I held the kiss until my door flew open, I pulled away abruptly and looked to see Bella looking awkward as hell. "Don't you ever knock?!" I got upset.

"I-I'm sorry, Edward is here-" She said acting all weird after witnessing us kissing.

"Okay, I'm coming," I said and she nodded walking away, I sighed. "You wanna say bye to me?" I asked and he nodded. We got up and walked down to the front where I saw Edward leaning on his Volvo. Both his and Jake's noses scrunched up.

"Okay Bye angel, I should get going," he said and I nodded kissing him, and gave him a good one before running off behind the house. I looked at Edward as he opened the back door for me, I looked in slowly. I was spotless in the car... Clean top to bottom, it was kinda weird... "I'm driving myself, remember?" I asked and he hummed.

"Forgot. Follow me?" He asked and I nodded even if I knew where he lived, I got in my truck pulled out and followed as he did too. When we got to the house, I got out and followed, I had never been in their house but it was gorgeous and had windows everywhere. He let me in and I followed him up the stairs, seeing a magnificent Cross that was made from solid wood...

"How old is this- looks like at least 16th century," I said and he looked surprised.

"It is. It was from my father's church- the one his father was the priest of before him- before he turned." He said and I stared at the matriculate carvings it was gorgeous.

"It's beautiful," I said and he walked up more, I followed seeing a wall of Grad Caps. "That's just comical," I said and he nodded smiling, we continued to walk up and then I smelled amazing food. "Food?" I asked and Edward nodded.

"We have two mouths to feed." He said and we walked into the kitchen, there was the whole family- I was taken aback not expecting to see everyone at once. Rosalie looked over and hummed.

"Cecilia." She said and I hummed, smiling "Messing with wolves?" She asked and I chuckled softly.

"Rose-" Emmett said but I spoke too.

"Rosalie?" I said her name the way she said mine this time with familiarity. "Still the undead eating live stag?" I asked and she looked amused. Everyone looked confused. She walked over and hugged me suddenly, everyone looked surprised, especially Bella, who also looked kinda mad...

"Nice to see you again." She said and I smiled nodding.

"I see you and Rose are familiar." Carlisle walked over to us, wiping his hands and then holding his out to me, I shook it, and still, I wasn't used to the cold. "Sorry to pull you away from anything you may have been doing, I insisted to Edward that you needed to meet his family if Bella was to be a part of it one day." He said and I hummed.

"I was surprised but I don't mind... I guess it's fair too considering she already knows mine." I said and Bella looked at me silently.

"Sounds fair. Food?" He asked and showed me, it was Italian, bruschetta and pasta, with a small homemade pizza. "Sure... I love Bruschetta." I reached over grabbed it and put it in my mouth. "Mm!" once I've chewed and swallowed I spoke. "It's delicious... Thank you, Dr. Cullen." I said and he smiled.

"Call me Carlisle." He said and I nodded.

"Okay, so what's the plans?" I asked and he smiled looking at Alice who held something to me. I looked curiously. It was a gift package.

"Your birthday was before Bellas right?" She asked and I nodded slowly. "You turned 17 so we thought you should have that." She said and I slowly opened it. I was greeted by a black box that had a... Phone on the cover? I looked at them all in surprise. It was an iPhone- 1st gen, this had come out this year and was the most popular phone ever- most expensive too. "It had 8GB and already has all the numbers you need in it."

"Including Jakes," Bella said and I was frozen looking at it. This was about 600 dollars... Did vampires have that kind of money? I couldn't afford this, that's why I was gonna settle with a Nokia or something... I saw them all look at Edward confused and he shrugged.

"Sorry if I'm not- showing gratitude properly but... I'm kinda in shock- this isn't necessary- and I don't... Wanna be won over with..."

"It's not about trying to win you over," Rose said.

"You're Bella's sister, you're family too," Emmett said and I sighed.

"Plus Bella said you needed a phone. That you were MIA when over with those wolves." Jasper said and I sighed.

"Thanks," I muttered. "Really. I mean this is crazy."

"You can have one of my cases, I have the same phone," Alice said grabbing my hand. "Come!" She pulled me to her room and I ignored the lack of a bed. She showed me all her cases and one was brown and looked like faux leather. I pointed and she nodded taking my phone out of the box and putting it on and giving it to me, she sat down and showed me how to use it. I thanked her and she helped me find Edward and Bella again, Bella was sitting on the couch and Edward looked at me as he sat at the piano.

"Cecilia? Would you like to play Chess?" he asked and I thought for a second before nodding. He smiled and moved to the table beside the large window, I sat down on the other side as Bella read her book but also watched us. He begins with the white side. We began to play and a few minutes in I spoke.

"Can I ask you some questions I would like to have answered?" I asked and he nodded thinking about his move. "So if Bella wants to be turned... What are you all waiting for?" I asked and he hummed.

"We made a deal... That we would wait for graduation and possibly college. There are ultimatums." He said making his move and I thought of mine.

"Seems fair... So why did Carlisle turn you all, I'm assuming he did." I took his piece.

"He turned Me, Esme, Rosalie and Emmett... In that order. Alice and Jasper have stories before us and found their way to us." He said taking my piece.

"Well, why?" I asked moving.

"We were dying." He said and I froze. "I had the Spanish influenza. Esme had... Jumped off a cliff and Rosalie was assaulted by her future husband, Carlisle thought he was giving us a chance at a second-long life." He said and I stared at him. I frowned.

"Was it... Traumatic?" I asked as I made my queen take his. He looked surprised by my move and question. He had not expected either.

"Yes." He said softly and I looked at Bella who was into her book now, I don't think she was paying attention at all. I looked at him and he looked at me.

"I'm sorry," I said and he sighed and made his move. "I mean I can only imagine what you've seen... The influenza was in the early 20s no? 1918?" I asked and he nodded. "You've lived a long time," I said and he again modded, I took his knight and he hummed.

"I have... It's bleak, or was." He looked at Bella.

"Why did you leave her?" I asked. Silence ensued for a moment.

"I'll be back." Bella got up and left for a moment.

"I thought I was helping her."

"You weren't... I'm sure you know now, but holy shit I lost my mind. I couldn't sleep. She couldn't. Plus, her little friendship with Jake did not last long even with her leaving, he would have imprinted while dating or something, and heartbreak all over."

"I realized that after I learned of his imprinting on you." He said as he took my knight too, before I realized he had given me an opening.

"Yeah, I just feel like... Me being Wolf Girl and her being Vamp Girl... There is a rift that will end with one destroying the other. Or... Coming together." I took his king. "Checkmate," I said and he froze looking surprised. "So. What's the powers like, Does any other vamp have them?"

"I have telepathy, Alice can see the future based on individual decisions, Jasper has empathy, he can feel and make people feel emotions and that is pretty much it." He said as he set it up.

"Is it lonely being an telepath? I mean you know what everyone is thinking... I'm assuming that's why you invited me to play because you can't hear me." I said and he nodded.

"It can be." He said and pursed my lips. I took out my phone and saw the time.

"I should get going... I was surprised about today but... Thanks, I guess." I said and he nodded. I left after saying thank you and also took all the food with me because they couldn't eat it. I had a bunch of Tupperware in my car now and I pulled out my new phone. I called Jake.

"Hello?" Jake picked up and I smiled.

"Hey Jake, you want me to come over after I shower?" I asked and he chuckled.

"Yes!"

"I have food," I said and he hummed.

"Okay, I'll let Dad know." He said and we said our goodbyes before I pulled out and left. I went home and showered, threw my clothes in the wash and changed into fresh ones, the shirt being his, I went to his place after letting Dad know, I gave him my new number too to call if he needed me. I went to Jake warmed the food up and laid it out for them and we ate before I lay in Jake's room telling him everything. He listened to me as I explained it all and was surprised by the way they were treating me, that they were quite civil.

"Although they are an enemy species, even if Bella and I don't see eye to eye, it doesn't mean she wants them treating me like scum, but I do like how they still treat you all, they said Bella didn't like how I went MIA while I'm with the wolves." I exaggerated the way Jasper did and he sighed rolling his eyes. "You're my wolf," I said and He smirked and kissed me passionately as we lay together, I heard a familiar pair of boots hitting the floorboards outside, but I ignored it as he moved over top of me to give me kisses and I giggled as he touched my sides and kissed my neck, suddenly the door flew open and there was billy, and MY DAD! I shoved Jake off and again I fell off his twin bed, he looked and Dad was wide-eyed.

"DAD!" Both of us yelled, mine out of shock, Jake out of anger, dad stocked in and grabbed my arm yanking me out.

"I'm sorry-" I heard Billy apologize, before moving to Dad. "Charlie, come on man-"

"Dont! My daughter comes here all the time and I put faith in you that you wouldn't allow them to run wild, but here they are... God, you know how I feel about that." He said and yanked me out, I was severely worried.

"Dad please!" I pulled on him but he yanked harder. "Ow!" He didn't mean to hurt me but from me pulling away and pulling me to him, it hurt nonetheless. I heard a growl from inside the still open door, Jake had heard me- I suddenly dropped, and dad was taken back as it completely ripped from him as I went limp, I shot back up and moved away. "Listen to me!" I yelled and he turned to look at me.

"No, you listen to me young lady, teenagers don't need to be doing this- it's useless-"

"We aren't doing anything- you can't do this-"

"I am the one that makes the rules for this to happen, this is your fault!" I flinched as he yelled, I'd never seen dad this mad, but then again- I was his little girl, closer to him than he was to Bella, and Bella was 18... "You shouldn't be doing things like- that!"

"I'm still a virgin!" I yelled and he froze. "We haven't done anything... we just... kiss and stuff, we aren't- I don't want to lose him- because you wouldn't listen to me, I promise you, we haven't done anything," I begged him and he was frozen. "Please- Daddy'm not stupid I wouldn't do anything that hurt me or that would hurt me in the long run-" I said and he stared at me, Jake and his dad watching from the door. "Jake is a good guy, Dad, he hasn't even pushed for them just kisses, and Billy does check up on us, but he understands that we wouldn't do anything!" I told him essentially begging him to listen, he sighed looking up.

"You promise me- at least till 18-"

"Yes, Daddy of course! I promise. But please let me still see Jake."

"Fine. As long as I get to check in and you he honest."

"Yes sir!"
