Chapter Text

The alarm clocks beeps angrily at the women in the room. It’s irritating to the ears and murders the natural feel of the morning. A morning that feels like the early summer months before the real heat sets in, where the birds still chirp and clouds roll over the sky with spring’s final goodbye breeze blowing through the trees.

A hand shoots out from under the blanket, slamming the palm of her hand down forcefully on the big button that sits on top of the alarm clock, killing it mid beep. The hand slides back under the warm covers, seemingly going back to sleep. The clock ticks by, quickly, agitatingly, until-

BEEP!!

BEEP!!

BEEP!!

A growl escapes a sharp-toothed mouth as the hand comes back out, fingers longer, nails sharper, and skin redder. This time there’s no mercy as a fist comes down, smashing the button into the clock and cracking the digital screen. There’s a pause to make sure the evil machine is dead this time before the scary looking hand shrinks back down to a normal human looking hand and slinks back under again.

The only alarm now is the slow rise of the sun before it hits a certain point where it will not be ignored, cutting through the blinds like lightsabers cut through metal, beaming through the room, right onto the pillow that has straight blonde hair splayed across, spilling and cascading like golden rivers. Eyelids flutter open revealing striking blue eyes before closing again as the woman rolls over, pulling the blanket off of her upper body. Illyana rubs the sleep out of her eyes as she sits up. Her hair falls perfectly against her back like a blonde waterfall.

The woman’s blue eyes look at the room, drinking up the scene. It’s well kept with a few clothes strung across the corner chair, dripping onto the ground, and a couple of notebooks full of lyrics and tunes on the floor. She looks at the pillow next to her, seeing the tiny little dent in the bed is vacant. She pulls the blanket off her legs and slowly puts her feet on the ground, not wanting to accidentally step on the little lady. The idol only comes up to the woman’s ankles after all.

Illyana tiptoes around the room, bending over to look under the bed. Nothing but dust and a small set of footprints that lead out from under the bed. It goes all the way to the end of the bed where the blanket touches the ground, it’s not enough to lay on or cuddle with but it starts the small investigation. Illyana moves down the bed, keeping an eye out for her missing partner. Illyana comes up to a sweatshirt that belongs to her and is in need of a wash. She can easily see the small lump in the chest area and pulls open the collar to see the tiny, chibi-like, woman huddled up inside. The poor thing.
Illyana reaches in slowly and taps the top of Seol’s head. The head shifts and the body stretches. She looks tired as she figures out where she is, rubbing the sleep out of her one eye. It’s not that Seol has lost an eye, she just got caught in the crossfire when Strange had cast a spell on the battlefield and it bounced off Cap’s shield and ended up striking her in the eye. It’s the same spell that has caused her to lose some height. The little head turns to the opening of the sweatshirt, seeing Illyana’s large face which instantly lights up her mood. She hops to her feet only to trip and fall right on her face. The blonde giggles.

“Come here, little snowflake,” Illyana’s thick Russian accent covers the tiny Luna like a blanket. She reaches in and scoops the woman out, bringing her in close to place a soft, warm kiss on her cheek.
Seol smiles softly, happy to receive her morning gift. Her little hands reach out, tiny fingers curling and uncurling like claws on a machine, wanting more. Illyana happily obliges. Kisses pepper the tiny woman. Squeaks and tiny giggles drive Illyana to continue kissing and loving on Seol.

She only stops when the tiny hand pushes against her face so she can catch her breath. Illyana lets her do so, setting the idol on her shoulder as they walk out to leave the room. The two walk through the quiet penthouse, the sun’s rays following them as Illyana walks. It looks warm outside but the clear sky and morning sun is deceiving. Snow litters the city sidewalks and trees, giving the air a nice chilling feeling. One that’s nice to wake up to when your bed is warm and cocoa is still steaming. In the kitchen Illyana pulls out the pancake mix and a pod of coffee that she slips into the coffee machine. She gets to work whipping up pancakes and pouring them in the waiting, heated pan on the stove. The coffee machine beeps causing Illyana to drop everything to get her morning drink.

She practically chugs the cup before making another, leaving none for the little Luna that sits on her shoulder. It’s not a big deal until Illyana’s on her second cup and the little idol reaches out, asking for a sip. But getting Illyana to share her cup of coffee is like trying to freeze Limbo over. Impossible.

“This is mine, kroshechnyy.” Illyana says as she takes another sip. A whine. “No.This is mine.” Illyana sets the half-drunk cup down and flips the pancake. There’s some small shifting around on her shoulder then it feels like her ear is trying to be ripped off of her face. “Ow, ow, ow! Seol!!”

The little Luna had jumped up and grabbed the earlobe in protest of being denied coffee. Illyana nearly burns her pancake trying to pull the little woman off her ear. It takes some coaxing and bargaining to get her to let go. When she does she’s met with a very unhappy face from the blonde. Seol tries to play innocent but she can’t escape the demoness’ fiery gaze.

“Sorry,” she says softly, looking away apologically.

Illyana can’t stay mad. Not at her girlfriend. Not at someone so tiny and adorable. She sighs and gets out a cup to pour some coffee in. She sits Seol down on the counter and hands her the cup -that’s as big as Seol’s body- for her to enjoy. Seol smiles widely, happy to finally get a cup to herself.

Illyana continues to make pancakes, stopping every now and then to help the tiny Luna drink her coffee. When the pancakes are done and nicely stacked, Illyana grabs the syrup and butter, and sits down at the table. She figured this will be a special little morning with her special little idol. A chair is pulled out and the two take a seat. Seol watches as Illyana cuts up the pancakes and begins to chow down. While chewing she cuts up a few tiny pieces and feeds them to the tiny idol, one at a time, like she’s feeding a very, very small child. Seol doesn’t mind it since she can’t eat the food with her bare hands.
The two seemingly enjoy the peaceful morning since they are usually dragged off to Galacta’s game by now. Illyana sips away at her coffee while Seol chows down on the pancakes, both happily enjoying the peace. The blonde has her fingers loosely wrapped around the tiny woman, helping her every now and then with the cup of coffee. All while the sun rises in the kitchen.
