Summary
You never could have predicted the absolute whirlwind that would be set in motion the moment your cousin showed up at the Pitt requiring stitches. Your aunt berating the interns and your great-uncle sexually harassing Robby, you somehow ended up saddled with a supposed boyfriend you definitely didn’t have when you arrived at work.
But before you can even stammer out the truth, yourcousin is gleefully booking plane tickets and inviting your "man" to her fairytale wedding in Italy. You were already dreading the nuptials, but now the stakes are higher. You thought surviving a mere week with your family you could manage—after all, you’ve handled Myrna and the Kraken, you can handle chaos. But you hadn't counted on Jack.
Matters only get worse days before the wedding. The bride has vanished, the groom is drowning his sorrows in Chianti while reciting Shakespearean sonnets, and the bride’s mother is rampaging through the villa with the force of an EF5 Tornado. You are caught in the crossfire with Jack Abbott, a man who seems to enjoy baiting your relatives and stoking the flames a little too much. If you emerge from this sun-drenched Italian vacay with your sanity intact, it will be nothing short of a miracle.

Summary
On paper, you and Dr. Jack Abbot are just good at what you do: you patch people up, trade banter like it’s part of the protocol, and drag yourselves through The Pitt one brutal night shift at a time. Off paper, Jack is a widower with a quiet that clings to him, an ex-Army combat Vet that left him with more scars that no one ever sees and you’re the nurse who notices them. The nurse who won’t let “I’m fine” close the door, who hears the pause after the joke, who keeps asking him anyway.
It’s the same slow bleed of grief and want, shift after shift, case after case—until watching his back stops being professional and starts being personal, and falling for him feels less like a choice and more like stepping into something you’re not sure you’ll both make it out of.

Summary
you take a photo of a man on a hospital roof who gazes into the distance like he’s finally found peace. jack abbot glances down and sees you on the street, camera angled upwards towards him and bike stood beside you.
you find that you’ve slipped into one another's lives quietly, finding one another in odd places. your paths seem to cross, even if neither of you mean for it to happen, almost like your souls always find one another in the end. the hospital know you too now, the girl who fixes all their tech related problems in the middle of the night.
you just can’t seem to escape one another, even when you both try to stretch the distance pulling you two together.
sometimes, love takes miles.

Summary
nebraska was very different from california. first of all, it didn't have coastal highways or salty breezes that came off the ocean waves. it also didn't have a big street racing community. and it certainly didn't have michael robinavitch.
