Work Text:
Wei Wuxian had disappeared, perhaps dead and dumped in a ditch. No funeral, no one to mourn his passing. Or perhaps he was alive, wounded, waiting for the right moment to return.
Lan Wangji stroked her belly. His and Wei Wuxian's baby had taken root and would grow ever larger, one day coming into this world. He thought it selfish; why bring such a pure being into a world of chaos? But if it were his last chance to see eyes or a smile like Wei Wuxian's, he would take it, against the rules, even if it was pure selfishness.
