“I've already told you I'm fine.”
“Zacharias, you're bleeding from your head,” said the Prince of Askr, pointing to the blood that was running from the back of his head to the bottom of his face. The man with the silver hair sighed when he saw the redhead playing with her fingers. “Also, you have a cut on your leg.”
The man with the silver hair sighed. “I'm fine.”
The redhead made a noise in her throat, causing his purple eyes to look at her. “You're starting to get exhausted, you're going pale, and you seem disoriented… I think one of the weapons was poisoned,” she said, causing Alfonse to look at him again with those worried and angry eyes because he hadn't taken care of himself.
The Prince of Embla sighed and nodded. The two helped him move, while the man with the silver hair grunted. The truth is, he could tolerate a lot of pain, which allowed him to survive many injuries. After that, he couldn't see any further.
When the prince opened his eyes, he saw he was in the prince's of Askr room. He made a noise in his throat, then saw the redhead looking out. Bruno sighed, trying to sit up, but he couldn't because of his wound.
“How long have I been here?”
“You've only been here a day,” Victoria replied, helping him settle in. “We had to drag you to Maria, and then I removed the poison. It wasn't difficult.”
“But I can't move from here, can I?”
“At least until your leg is better,” the summoner said. “I knew you'd be like this, so I brought books and my company.”
The prince of Embla smiled. “I love spending time with you.” The summoner smiled. “Where's our boyfriend?”
“Making plans. I think he's upset with Niðavellir, and consequently, with Fáfnir.”
“He will also be angry with Eitri and Ótr for kidnapping you.”
The redhead looked away, causing the prince to take her hand.“They know the Breidablik is something unique. And it seems to have upset Loki, because she destroyed the copy.”
“…you must be someone important for the goddess of mischief to want to protect you at all costs.”
“Maybe yes, maybe not” she answered, leaving many questions in the air, but he knew it was so that she could continue surviving.
“You're such a smart girl.” he finally says, with pride on his chest.
The redhead laughed when the door opened. The man with blue hair arrived, and was happy to see him awake. He went up to him and crossed his arms. He was angry, which wasn't a surprise. Bruno looked a bit uncomfortable as the redhead got into bed without saying anything, placing the pillows on him.
“Are you going to scold me?” he asked, as the blue-haired man let out a breath. “Tell me my horse is ok.”
“It is. At least you have a positive outlook. As long as you don't move too much.”
“With you watching me? I doubt I'll have to stand up unless I need to.”
The man with blue hair gave a slight smile and moved quietly. Bruno looked at Victoria, and she stood up and got something from his bag. He still needed that magic potion to control the curse, so he had to take it before more time passed.
“Have you healed his wound?” Alfonse asked Victoria, but she shook her head. The man with blue hair moved quietly around his room.
The man with the silver hair started drinking the potion, while the Prince of Askr arrived, looking less formal than before, carrying a small first-aid kit. Bruno took a drink and felt the man with blue hair gently take hold of his leg to remove the bandages. The man with the silver hair saw that it wasn't as bad as the wounds he had had before.
One of the things that could be a good sign for his genetics was that he was able to tolerate pain well. But the Prince of Askr was careful, trying his best to cure him without hurting him for too long. After bandaging him, he put his leg on a cushion. The man with the silver hair drank the potion without saying anything.
“By the way,” Bruno said to Alfonse, “Hugo found out. He's coming here with your sister.”
“I see,” he replied, looking a bit unhappy. He didn't like worrying his sister, but right now he couldn't see Hugo.
“Are you still angry with him?” the redhead asked, taking a sip of his drink. Alfonse looked at them, knowing he was missing something.
Bruno knew Alfonse very well. He would defend him if he knew what had happened. But there was no way to hide it now. He relaxed a little, took a sip of his drink, and then spoke. “We had an argument.”
“When?” the blue-hair man asked, sitting down and crossing her legs to face him.
“Before Hel,” the redhead answered, playing with one of the cushions.
Alfonse looked worried and probably thought of his own ideas about what was going on. “That's quite a while. Almost two years.”
“Well, after what he told me, I… don't feel comfortable around him.”
“What did he say?” he asked, shaking his head.
Bruno sighed. “He doesn't like the relationship I have with you. He thinks the curse won't go away and that my travels are useless,” he explained, and the Prince of Askr nodded. “If he wanted to listen to me and see that I've found out a lot, both about the curse and how to support Embla and Askr, maybe he wouldn't be so angry to me.”
“Have you tried talking to him?” Victoria asked, looking at him.
“He doesn't want to,” he replied, taking another drink. “He doesn't want to meet me. So he goes to his home when I'm in my castle.”
“I see. Is there anything else besides that?” the prince asked, knowing there was more to it.
Bruno sighed. “It's about my mother,” he answered, and the man with blue hair simply nodded, knowing that this was a very difficult subject to discuss.
Alfonse looked at Victoria. “Are you reading us? I think I need a nap.”
“Do you really think that, or has the commander sent you to sleep?” the summoner asked, teasingly.
The Prince of Askr laughed, while Bruno shook his head. The blue-haired man then moved, lying down next to the silver-haired man as he leaned against his chest. The Prince of Embla took one last drink, gave the container to the redhead, who put it on the bedside table before getting comfortable. She lay down on his side, against his chest, to get the book she needed to read. The man with silver hair started to play with the man with blue hair's hair, and also gently touched the red-haired woman's cheek. She was reading fantasy books that surely Sharena had given her.
With the summoner's sweet voice and the warmth of both of them, Bruno closed his eyes again to rest.
