For a few months now Lan Xichen has been taking care of his adopted rabbit who he name Lan Wangji/Lan Zhan and it has been the best decision since then. Lan Zhan is a special breed of an Angora rabbit and an American Fuzzy lop, which created a cute and beautiful creature like him.
He has fur as white as snow, ears long and beautiful, easy for hearing predators with fluff peaking out of it and the inside of his ears as pink as his nose. Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji have been together for a while, but he has been thinking about adding a new addition to their family, and hopefully a playmate for Wangji.
Recently he has noticed that wangji has been looking a bit down, he doesn't act like how he usually does anymore. At first he thought Wangji was sick but the vet says he doesn't have any illnesses so, why is Wangji looking sad.
He read about rabbits being lonely and that's what brought the idea that maybe he should get him a partner.
So after work Lan Xichen went to the pet store and started looking at the different kinds of rabbits and which one would suit wangji better. He looked around going from aisle to aisle and none of them were perfect enough for wangji.
Until he locked eyes with a black rabbit, he was super hyper and looked very playful. The perfect partner for Wangji, Lan Xichen thought that the Rabbits energetic behavior would rub off on wangji and get him acting like his regular self.
He brought the rabbit and went back home, as he opened the door to his home Wangji was laying on the kitchen floor asleep but awoke when Lan Xichen walked into the room. Lan Xichen smiled and bent down rubbing Wangji's ears and Wangji licked him in return. Showing hos love and affection towards his owner.
As wangji finished showering Xichen with kisses he noticed the pet carrier beside Lan Xichen and hopped towards it sniffing the cage curious on what this new scent is. "Looks like you found your new friend already" Xichen grabbed wangji and placed him in his lap as he opened the pet carrier and out sprinted Wei ying.
The pair watched as Wei ying explored the house happily and excited then he zoomed towards them and started to sniff Wangji. Wangji sniffed Wei ying back and hopped off Xichen observing his new friend. Lan Xichen smiled and watched as the two get use to each other scents.
After wangji and Wei ying started circling each other then they started to chase the each other. Seems like they got a long pretty fast, Xichen smiled and was happy that Wei ying brought back Wangji energy pretty quickly within the 5 minutes that they met.
He placed the carrier on the table and started ordering more rabbit stuff and as the weeks past, it didn't take long for Wei ying to make himself at home. Everything that was Wangji's is now his the bed, food, water, you name it Wei ying really made himself at home and it shows.
But it seems like Wangji didn't mind since he hasn't tried to bite Wei ying because of it so he decided to just leave them alone for now, but he did noticed something strange with the pair. Maybe it's because it's natural behavior for the rabbit but he saw Wei ying trying to mate with Wangji not once, not twice but three times! Maybe more!
Both Wangji and Wei ying are both males so he is confused on why is he trying to mate with Wangji. Xichen thought it was because Wei ying might be in heat so he separated the pair and put them in different cages but in the morning he always found Wei ying in Wangji's cage. Wow, he really underestimated on how high Rabbits can jump.
And that's not all one day he was on the couch with Wangji cuddling and watching a movie and Wei ying got on the couch and started to mate with Wangji, Xichen tried to pull him off of Wangji but he has a strong grip on him.
At this point he didn't know if Wei ying was causing Wangji to stress since he noticed Wangji eating more than usual and sleeping more. So he decided to put him in a completely different room until his heat went away.
And it worked after Wei ying's quarantine was over he wasn't trying to mate with Wangji anymore, which way honestly a relief. But he still notices changes in Wangji's behavior. Belly growth, sleepy, no zoomies, and he even started to build a nest. Which is weird Lan Xichen thought only female rabbits make nests when they are....
(Maybe this is a mistake, Wangji is a male he can't possibly be pregnant. Maybe I'm over reacting Wangji is fine) Lan Xichen thought to himself as he looked at the sleeping bunnies cuddling with each other soundly asleep. He pushed the thought aside and took pictures of the cute pair.
But he realized Wangji isn't the only one who is acting different,Wei ying is being protective... Stomping his feet every time he tries and pick up Wangji, growling and trying to bite him when ever he gets to close.
WHAT THE HELL! Why are his rabbits acting this way? Everytime he tried to search it up it would say he's being protective. Of what? Does he really think wangji is his mate?
This all very confusing for poor Xichen so he decided to schedule an appointment with the vet to find out what is wrong. But later that same night he woke up to the sound of small cries and whimpers, he got up and walk to the living where he's bunnies stayed and saw Wei ying giving Lan Wangji kisses as Wangji's face is twisted in pain.
He walked over and bend down to get a closer look and then picked up Wangji and placed him in his lap, gently stroking his head.
Wei ying walked over and bit Xichen's sleeve and tugged at it. "What's the matter Wei ying? Are you worried about wangji, I am to I wonder why is in pain" He looked at Wangji closer and noticed that he was bleeding.
Why is he bleeding? What is happening to him just as he put Wangji back down something fell out of him, which startled Xichen. (Is he pooping out his own organs?!) But to his surprise it started moving and Wangji was quick to clean it. (It's- it's a baby?!?)
Xichen had not expected that! Wangji was actually pregnant after all! So he's male bunny was really a female! But how? How is Wangji a female.
He placed Wangji back into his nest with his baby kit and got up to get a towel, As he came back there was 3 more baby kits.
He carefully grabbed the babies and placed them on the towel and waited until Wangji give birth to the rest. And in the end they had a total of six babies not one, not two, BUT SIX!
That is a lot of rabbits for Lan Xichen to take care of! He's going to need a bigger cage but for now he let the couple be but put Wei ying In a different area to avoid giving Wangji more stress and then he went back to bed himself.
The next couple of weeks went by and now the babies are able to hop on their own but they are still so small, they ended up having 4 boys and 2 girls each is their own resemblance of their parents, but one thing is sure.
Lan Xichen is going to need new furniture they ate threw his couch and clothing also.
