Chapter Text

Momo Yaoyorozu, Class 1As' vice president and one of the top and richest students of her class.

It was a warm Sunday night when Momo decided to have a few of her friends over for a sleepover, and they would all get to UA the next day together. It was Uraraka, Jirou, and Kaminari in Momo's huge bedroom with her in her parents mansion, they were all going over their homeworkwhichat was due the next day, with each other. Although their chatting was stopped when the four teens heard some soft creaks above Momo's bedroom. Momo had been hearing random noises like this for a while and just found something to excuse it to her friends because of how confused they seemed, without actually knowing the cause of the noise. "Don't worry, it's just the house settling."

The four friends continued to work quietly after that until there was another creak, and Momo could tell that her friends heard it too, but tried to ignore it before they decided to speak up. Uraraka was the first to say something, looking up at the ceiling from the bed that she was sitting in front of. She looked back at Momo before speaking with a confused look. "Hey Momo, how many floors does your house have?"

Momo felt a small shiver of nervous go down her spine at that question, feeling like she had seen the direction this was going in, but trying not to show her nerves. But she tried to respond as calmly as she could to her friends question, without looking at the two other friends that were looking at the same time now. "Three floors, above this one is the attic, why?"

Jirou was the next one to speak up with a slightly more worried voice, having a similar feeling to Momo, that this would all be going in a way that her friend wouldn’t want. "Maybe we should check if anything's up there...just to make sure that there isn't some animal trapped up there."

Momo's mind went into panic mode at that suggestion, and she instinctively looked worried before she tried to force any sign of worry out of her voice. "Oh, I didn't think about that..we should check. If there is an animal up there, I would want to help it and make sure it can leave safely."

Uraraka and Kaminari stood up and followed Momo out of the room, with Jirou following a few seconds later, having a feeling that her friend was more worried than she was letting on, and they all went into the hallway together. Momo led the other three upstairs to the door that led into the attic, feeling more anxious than she had been the entire time. She was just hoping that if an animal was up in the attic, that it wasn't hurt or too distressed.

They all stepped into the attic, which was dimly lit but the four classmates could see that the room was filled with boxes, furniture, and other items. "It is a little creepy up here.." Uraraka spoke in a quiet, nervous voice at the sight of the somewhat cramped attic looking like it was straight out of a horror movie.

Kaminari was clearly on edge at the attic, and he looked at the others to try and find something to say to try and lift the tension everyone felt.* "W-we should split up to look for the animal, it could be hiding behind something or in a corner..."

Momo and Uraraka glanced at each other for a brief second at that suggestion, but they both eventually nodded in agreement. "Sounds good, Kaminari you and Uraraka can look around the left side, and Jirou and I will look around the right."

The two pairs split up to search different sides of the attic, with Kaminari and Uraraka looking in a section of the room with a few larger boxes stacked in piles, and Jirou and Momo checking another spot with many boxes of older items, toys, and other things. Each pair looked over the darkly lit attic for a few minutes when Uraraka spoke up to Kaminari, seeing another small part of the room that the two teens hadn't looked at yet.

"Hey Kaminari, do you think we should look over there?" Uraraka pointed to a spot that was behind a few larger sized boxes and more old items, that looked like a small gap, almost like the start of a small walkway behind the boxes.

Kaminari looked where Uraraka was pointing, and he could see the small gap that the brunette was talking about, and he nodded his head. "Good eye, man, there could be something over there that we missed." Kaminari started to walk towards the spot where Uraraka pointed, moving closer and looking behind the boxes that they hadn't checked yet.

Suddenly, Uraraka, Momo, and Jirou heard Kaminari yelp when he looked behind the big, tightly packed boxes like something either freaked the teen boy out or surprised him.

Momo, Jirou, and Uraraka all whipped their heads in the direction of where they heard Kaminari yelp, and all of them had concerned looks on their faces. Momo's heart was still racing and she had a bad feeling before she spoke in a nervous voice. "Kaminari, what's wrong? What's behind the boxes?"

Jirou and Uraraka were still looking at the spot with more concern on their faces as they waited anxiously for Kaminari to speak, and a few moments later he finally did, in a slightly surprised and fearful whisper. "U-Um..theres a person...!"

Uraraka, Jirou, and Momo all froze like they had just heard a ghost walk past them, and all three stared at the spot where Kaminari yelled out from before Jirou spoke up in a shaking, nervous voice, that was barely above a whisper. A person, living in Momo's attic? "What do you mean a person..?!"

Kaminari spoke up again in a more concerned sounding whisper, like he was afraid of getting any louder after he saw someone secretly hiding in his friends attic. "There's someone back here! He's in a sleeping bag behind the boxes, hiding behind some of them. I think he's asleep..!"

The other three teens exchanged worried looks at what Kaminari said, a new wave of nerves flowing over them all at the thought of another person being so close to them. Jirou was the first to speak up in a quiet tone, still trying to not be too loud while not making it obvious that she was nervous like everyone else. "We should go downstairs and call the police.."

Momo immediately nodded at that suggestion from Jirou, and spoke quickly and nervously, in a low whisper like the others so that the person hiding behind the packed together boxes didn't hear her. She didn't really know how to feel about the thought of a stranger living unnoticed in her attic for who knows how long. "Y-yeah, that sounds like a good idea! Lets go back downstairs and figure out what to do from there..."

The other three teens followed Momo's lead as they all began to slowly creep out of the eerie attic, hoping to not wake up whoever was in a makeshift base hiding behind some tightly packed boxes, and none of them spoke until they reentered the hallway. Uraraka was the first to speak up once they were all out of the attic. "H-How long do you think he has been living up there...?"

Momo's heart was still racing after that experience, but she still tried to speak as calmly as possible, even if she was scared for what else was happening in her house without her knowledge. "I have no idea...a-at least a little while, if he's comfortable enough to sleep up there like its a normal thing...this is crazy.."

Jirou was clearly on edge at the whole thing too, still trying to wrap her head around what they just experienced. She took a moment to say anything before speaking anxiously, feeling like just speaking about it made it even worse. "I know...I mean, he's been up there all this time without Momo knowing a thing. It's really creepy... I'm gonna call the police."

The three other teens all nodded in agreement at Jirou's words, they all knew that the police would have to know about the situation by now, and they didn't know how much longer the unknown stranger had been secretly living in the house, hidden away above them this entire time, without a sign from him.

Just as Jirou was about to call the police, the four teens heard quiet and soft movements in the attic again, signaling that the person secretly living in there was awake and moving around.

All four of the teens stood frozen in sudden suspense at the sound of the stranger moving around in the attic, and all their eyes widened in shock. Momo spoke up next after a few moments of shocked silence in a low, nervous whisper. "Do you think he heard us talking about calling the police..?"

The other three teens all looked at Momo and each other with concerned looks on their faces as they realized that the unknown stranger in the attic had probably woken up from them talking about the police, and the silence that filled the hallway was quickly broken by Uraraka's worried whisper. "What do we do now..?"

There was another moment of nervous silence before Momo spoke up with the only solution she could think of at the moment, which she knew was crazy but she didn't know what else to do. "Maybe we should t-talk to him...?"

Jirou looked at Momo like she had grown a second head at the suggestion, and the other two looked just as startled. Uraraka broke the stunned silence first with an alarmed and doubtful response. "Are you crazy! He could be dangerous or crazy, why would we do that?"

Momo knew that it sounded insane but she was still desperate enough to try. Even though it probably wasn't a good idea, talking to the stranger seemed like the only way to keep things from going even more wrong right now. "I-I know, but I don't know what else to do! If we go the the living room and try to call the police, he'll probably hear it and know that we're going to try getting him arrested so he might try to leave before the police get here... At least this way, we can try to talk to him and find out why he's hiding up in the attic."

Jirou and Uraraka exchanged a glance while they were listening to what Momo explained. Both of them had to admit that the rich teen was right about what would happen if they tried to call the police without talking to the stranger first. The silence got broken again by Uraraka's reluctant response. "Okay, but only if we stay together and don't get too close.. I'm not getting stabbed by some stranger in your house."

Momo nodded a bit at the nervous yet resigned response from Uraraka and was just relieved that the others didn't immediately shoot down her plan. "We'll stay together and be careful. We just need to be as calm and careful as possible and talk to him about how he ended up in the house.."
