After his death, Caleb was resigned to watching you from afar. Observing as you live your life through a screen. Content with the distance. Even with your interactions (with many strange other men), he chose only to keep a tab on you through pixels, data he scraped from your organization, from the hospital records. He thought it would be better for you--to not be involved with his life with the Fleet. his connections to people you should cross paths with. Then, it happens.
