Work Text:

Perpetua didn't look away from his phone as Copia stormed into the kitchen. He didn't look up even as his brother stood in front of him, arms crossed.

He instead continued scrolling through the news on his phone, silently eating his breakfast, ignoring Copia the best he could. It was too early for a fight; he was still on his first bowl of cereal.

Copia cleared his throat loudly, earning a sigh from Perpetua. Perpetua set his spoon down in the bowl, looking up through his lashes, still facing his phone.

“Can I help you?” He asked dryly.

“You've stolen from me, again.” Copia snapped.

Perpetua finally sat up properly, frowning at his twin, “What did I steal now? Because if you're going to start another fight about the Papacy, I'm gonna leave.”

“You stole my fucking slippers.” Copia waved his hand, then pointed at Perpetua’s feet.

Oh my fucking god,” Slipped past Perpetua’s lips before he could stop them, exasperation dripping from the words. He looked down at the black slippers on his feet; there wasn't anything special about them.

“They're fucking slippers, Copia. Black, boring slippers. Hell, you could get another set for five bucks at Walmart.” He grumbled, kicking the slippers off and towards Copia. He waved his hand at them, returning to his breakfast, “There, there's your fucking slippers back.”

Copia was quiet for a moment, “That’s it?”

Perpetua froze, then slowly looked up at his brother, eyes narrowed, “You have ten minutes.”

“What?”

“You have ten minutes. That's how long it's going to take me to finish eating breakfast and clean up.” Perpetua’s tone was cold, but calm. He watched his brother, then sighed. It was obvious Copia wasn't catching on. “That's your head start before I hunt you down and beat your ass.”

Copia blinked, then jerked backwards a bit as it clicked for him, “Ah! Asshole!” And then he was gone, sprinting out of the room and down the hall.

Perpetua returned to his breakfast, picking up the box to add more cereal to his bowl. He had no real intention of chasing down Copia, but no one else needed to know that.
