For such a selfless man, Yuri sure was prone to want. He desired many things from this life that was forced upon him, not least of which the desire to rid this world of evil. But beneath that, buried so far down that he loathed to face it, he yearned for both the touch of another and the cruel sting of punishment, two forces that had unfortunately become tangled in his mind. No one could hurt nor save him like a hero could, and so he desired a hero most of all.
Kotetsu knew from the moment he bumped fists with Legend what it meant to be a hero, but knowing and abiding by those tenets were different beasts. These days, it only grew harder to keep his footing under all this pressure and the feeling he was losing his grip on the life he'd built.
Loss permeated every aspect of Barnaby's life. Loss of loved ones and his sense of self, loss of the trust and stability he'd fought so hard to obtain and yet was denied at every turn. So it's no wonder he found himself holding on so tightly to the few good things left in his life, for fear they too would slip through his fingers.
Circumstances brought them all together, but can they stop themselves from falling apart?
