A hundred years ago, whispers slithered through the streets of the capital—whispers of a cursed family said to be no longer human. Tales spread of their hunger for blood and souls, of how their shadows stretched longer than their bodies, and how their eyes gleamed like embers in the night. Fear sharpened into fury, and the people of the lowland villages rose as one, demanding the family’s exile.
Driven from their homes, the accused fled to the highest of mountains, where the winds cut like blades and beasts of fang and claw roamed freely. There, they thought they had found refuge. But peace was fleeting.
When a new High Priest rose to power—ambitious, zealous, and eager to prove his loyalty to the throne—he declared that no monster should be allowed to draw breath beneath Heaven’s gaze. Royal guards descended upon the mountain refuge, dragging the family down in chains. Their cries were swallowed by the roar of the crowd as one by one, they were executed under the Emperor’s decree.
Yet not all perished. One slipped through the grasp of soldiers and steel. One survived, carrying within him not only the curse of his bloodline, but a fury as vast as the heavens.
But the whispers of the people did not end there. Another tale spread like wildfire: whoever discovered the lost crest of the perished clan would awaken the lone survivor. Summoned by blood and vengeance, he would descend upon the capital in a storm of fire and shadow, and the streets would drown in red as he avenged the slaughter of his kin.

This is where the legend becomes more than a whisper.
In this tale, the son of the most powerful general under Heaven—Qiu Dingjie—accidentally unearths the very crest spoken of in hushed voices. In doing so, he calls forth the last of the dragon-blooded clan: Huangxing, the black dragon, the god of destruction, the prince of a forgotten bloodline.
Bound by fate yet torn apart by destiny, how will their meeting alter the tides of war, the will of the heavens, and the fragile line between love and ruin?
