Wandering minds lead to wonderful moments

Summary:

Eddie has had enough of Jason and his followers bullying Hellfire, so he decides to fight fire with fire and go after one of the people Jason cares about the most. Also known as his sister, Y/N Carver.
She isn't necessarily the most popular girl at school, however Carver's sister is well-known and liked.

The plan seems spotless; talk to the girl, relentlessly flirt with her until she falls for him and then break her heart. Though, Eddie has made the grave mistake of assuming that she'll be exactly like Jason.

Chapter Text

It's Eddie's graduating year of high school, he's so sure of it. He swears that he will finally get out of this demonic place with creatures worse than Satan himself walking around.

One thing that Eddie surely looks forward to is getting away from the infamous, Jason fucking Carver, together with his rat pack of equally idiotic friends. God forbid that they all mind their own business when Eddie's sitting at the lunch table with the Hellfire club, eating lunch and talking like everyone else is doing.

Because everything's just so different when Eddie. They'll make fun of him for walking and breathing if it makes them feel better about themselves. Eddie doesn't let these things bother him or anything. I mean he has been getting this kind of treatment since he was a kid, but he certainly wouldn't mind if they could just shut their mouths.

Especially right at this moment as he is trying to explain to Mike what he missed at the last DND session and those stupid douchebags just wont stop yelling out different variations of the word 'freak'. It's almost like they have no other words in their vocabulary, they don't even try to get creative with it.

Choosing to not pick a fight in the cafeteria, he finishes his summary of the session quickly without as much as a stutter. Eddie feels the need to take a quick breather so he excuses himself as he grabs his last cigarette and old lighter. Finally outside he feels the cold, refreshing air hit his face. It's autumn and the weather has made that very clear.

Eddie grabs the cigarette, mentally telling himself to take it slow as it's the last one from his last pack. He lights the cigarette and takes a long drag, leaning against the brick wall behind him as he instantly feels just a little calmer. After a second of peace he hears an absolutely grating voice, and let it be none other than Jason Carver and 2 of his little friends. Eddie rolls his eyes and looks the other way, decidedly ignoring whatever they're doing outside. He's had enough of their antics for today.

He's shaken out of his thoughts when he hears footsteps approaching him. Eddie turns around to look at the intruders, being less than surprised when it is in fact the assholes of the year. With a vaguely annoyed look in his eyes, Eddie opens his mouth to ask them what they could possibly want. Jason wordlessly flicks the cigarette out of Eddie's hand, onto the ground.
Less than 2 drags, Eddie hadn't even taken 2 drags of that cigarette, and it was his last one too.

Punching Jason didn't even make him feel satisfied, so Eddie left after one good punch in the face. Stomping back to the school with many, many plans of revenge circling his mind.

The absolute disrespect this guy has, taking all the energy to go outside and bother Eddie.  He is not going to let Jason treat him like this all throughout his last year, no way in hell. Eddie will strike Jason where it hurts the most. He just has to find out where that is.

Before Eddie starts considering suicide.

Back in the trailer are Eddie, Gareth and Jeff. They’re discussing how Eddie could get back at Jason.

"No, that is the worst idea you have ever thought of, Gareth." Eddie says, laying on the couch with his back against the armrest and his legs stretched out.
Gareth, Jeff and Eddie are all gathered on and next to the couch, discussing the so-called 'revenge plan'

"If you can name anything better I would love to hear it." Gareth shrugs his shoulders, sitting on the floor in front of the couch.

Eddie seems thoughtful for a second, tapping his fingers on his thigh. "I just want to fuck with someone that Jason cares for, you know? Show him that I'm more than just a freak with no influence on his life whatsoever."

"Honestly, the only person I can think of that Jason might care about besides himself would be his sister." Gareth's voice sounds unsure, like he isn't entirely certain that Jason gives a shit about anyone or anything at all.

Eddie on the other hand might've just gotten whiplash with how fast he whipped his head around to look at Gareth. "He has a sister?" Eddie audibly lost his ability to keep a relaxed posture, as he has shot upright and is now sitting at the edge of the couch. "Why have I never heard of this sister, are you sure that she isn't a figment of your imagination? Jeff is this true?" Jeff nods in response, not entirely interested in this conversation at all but more than happy to keep his friends company.

"Pretty sure everyone at school is aware, dude. Her name's Y/N Carver" Jeff answers the question before Eddie can even ask. "She's in her final year, redoing it, as she failed last year."

All of a sudden Eddie snaps his fingers, "That's it!". A smirk sits on his face as he jumps up from the couch, hands moving dramatically as he explains his master plan. A lot of backtracking involved. Steps in order from first to last, some steps he scraps and some he elaborates on.

"Okay okay okay, so you want to become her friend, get her to like you and then break her heart. If not romantically then platonically?" Gareth's eyebrows furrow, not in confusion, but in concern. Concern for his friend and how his poor brain must've strained to come up with something so.. idiotic?

"Yeah exactly! And Jason will be pissed to know that I was capable of hurting someone close to him. Plus, it's not like a sister of Jason can be much better than Jason himself. So it'll be like killing two birds with one stone." Eddie sounds confident in his plan. A deep, sorrowful sigh escapes from Jeff as a painful expression sits on his face, like he already knows that it won't end well.

But there's nothing wrong with trying, right?

At the same time as that "masterplan" is being set up, you're trying to make the most of your day.

After a relatively calm Monday, you make your way back home. For a moment you contemplate if you should just ignore all of your homework until you drown in it, but if you want to graduate this year you will just simply have to lock in.
On the bus you're grateful for the music that you've brought with you. As everyone around you seems to find it the perfect day to say as many words as physically possible until it's their turn to get off the bus. You don't get how people have the energy to interact with each other after having already spent the day together.

The music of your choice is 'Girls just wanna have fun' by Cyndi Lauper, as well as 'Remember tomorrow' by Iron Maiden. A friend at the music store had recommended them to you and although it took some getting used to, it's definitely good music. Your family isn't the biggest fan of anything that you like, really. They used to think of you as their greatest trophy; You dressed proper and girly, only spoke when spoken to and refused to listen to anything besides the radio pop hits.
You aren't that different now, but they refuse to look at you with love anymore. They seem to despise everything that you do.

Your music taste is one of the things that they collectively decided wasn't good enough anymore. Your brother doesn't care about much more than his vanity, but your parents are a different story. The moment that you stopped listening to the things they wanted you to listen to, it's like you were no longer their daughter.
You do still listen to fun pop hits, but you've also decided to branch out a little. There's a whole world of music that you haven't listened to yet.

Every week the guys at the music store give you a new cd to listen to, only to borrow, from jazz to heavy metal. If you dislike the cd then you tell them so and they'll keep that in mind with their next recommendation. If you do like a cd then you buy it! So now your room has a whole pile of different cds.

-

Finally you arrive at home, hearing voices coming from the kitchen.
You set down your bag in the hallway and inch closer to the kitchen door, hoping to catch part of the conversation.
"Oh my poor baby, i promise you that you still look handsome. That Munson guy is just an aggressive dog, punching my sacred son with his satanic fists."
It's your mom speaking, treating Jason like he is an actual saint.

Ah, it's one of those cases again, Jason probably started it anyway. You mentally roll your eyes, vaguely remembering who Munson is, but you've only really heard about him once. Pretty sure it's that 'fucked up metalhead loser' that your brother mentioned before. Yeah, definitely Jason's fault.

You make your presence known by softly knocking on the door and muttering "I'm home.". It's met with a dismissive hum from your mother.
You say hello to your dad, who's reading the newspaper in the living room, he doesn't say anything back but he did nod.
You make your way upstairs, making some sort of planning in your head for the upcoming homework.

You immediately put on some music when you enter your room, wanting to listen to something that will make you feel better.
They didn't always ignore you like this, your parents used to like you. Back when you were their little princess and could never do anything wrong in their eyes. You grew up differently than they had expected and all of the sudden that attention was gone. They acknowledged you when they saw you, that's about as much as you got.

Jason is the angel, The favorite, golden child. Your parents are so fond of him, you aren't. He likes to order you around and acts like a king at home and at school, the only reason he somewhat cares for you is for his own reputation.
You are just so done with it, everyone just loves to kiss his ass and pretend like he is made of holy fucking water.

Let's just get this schoolwork done with, graduate and leave.

After a couple of hours of hard work you finally finished the homework for the upcoming week. your body feels exhausted and your eyelids are heavy. You hesitate for a second, wondering if you should go down to grab some dinner or not. However the simple thought of walking all the way down just sounds like too much work.
So instead you fall into a deep slumber. Cd having already finished a while ago.

-

You are convinced that mornings are the absolute worst thing in life, dragging yourself out of bed already took 10 times longer than it should have. Yet you pulled through and now you're on the bus to school.
Jason is sitting with his little friends at the back of the bus, laughing loudly at God knows what. You try to distract yourself, focusing on counting the trees instead.

Your first class is English, could be worse. You sit down in your seat, watching everyone as they sit down with their friends and talk about the latest gossip and whatnot.
You really should've graduated with Robin and Steve, Robin just gets you and Steve is... well, Steve! Your family never really liked Robin so much, but of course the great Steve Harrington was more than welcome.

You get lost in your thoughts, taking a mental note to call them later today, when all of a sudden someone sits next to you.
You look up at him, taking in his appearance. This has to be the Munson dude.
Not wanting to come off as judgmental, you smile at him, hoping to show him that you do not mind him taking that seat.
He smiles back, you think, maybe it was more of a smirk. Satisfied, you turn back to the board as the lesson starts.

"What's your name, beautiful?" You hear a voice whisper next to you, you turn towards him. You're quite unsure on why he wants to know, mid-lesson.
"I'm Y/N, and you?" It only seems fair to ask for his, as continuously calling him 'Munson dude' doesn't feel quite right.
Munson looks a little shocked at your response, like he expected you to call him a slur or something.
He quickly conceals his expression, falling back into his confident persona. "The name's Eddie." He winks playfully at you.

Eddie Munson, that sounds right.
"It suits you." The words leave your mouth before you could even think them through, you immediately shy away a little. Focusing back on the teacher and avoiding eye contact.
Next to you Eddie looks so confused, no clue if he should believe the words that you've just spoken.
He mumbles out a quick thanks and starts drawing on his hand, his heart beating unbelievably fast.

The moment that the bell rings they both stand up as quickly as possible, making their way to the next class.
Eddie wonders if he was wrong about you.
