Work Text:
One day, Silver was at school with her friends and they were waiting for the bus to take them home. The bus eventually arrived, but it started pouring soon after they all got on it.
‘Great, I can’t believe I have to pick up L in this weather,’ she thought to herself, subconsciously fidgeting with the hood on her hoodie, ‘it wasn’t even supposed to rain today.’ The sudden rainstorm wasn’t the only weird thing she noticed. No one got off at their stops, not even at the last one. She gave everyone strange looks as she exited the bus, but no one, not even the bus driver, seemed to really care.
It was still raining a shitload of water when Silver got outside, so she put her hood up in a vain attempt to stay dry. She watched the bus drive away, wondering where the hell everyone was going. That didn’t entirely matter at the moment, though. She had to pick up her friend, K’s, little brother, L, so she headed in the direction of the local elementary school.
Just as she was thinking about how nice it would’ve been to have one of her friends with her, she saw two men walking down the street toward her. She moved to go around them, but they stopped her. Immediately, alarms went off in her head. These guys did not look friendly.
‘Now I really wish someone got off at the last stop with me.’ she thought. She looked around nervously, hoping to find someone who could help her, but of course no one was out while it was still pouring. She was surprised there wasn’t any flooding yet.
“Hey, kid, why don’t you come with us, yeah?” one of the two men asked, stepping forward. Silver realized how stupid it was for her to be walking alone, the crime rate in her state had increased recently and it wasn’t limited to just the big cities. She knew the men wanted to kidnap her. On instinct, she pulled out her phone to call the police. Immediately, both men backed off as if she had pulled out a gun.
“Woah, chill, we’ll leave.” the other man said before both of them walked away, scared. Silver watched them leave, shocked at how.. easy it was to get them to go away. The day was only getting weirder and weirder. Just as she thought that, she noticed there was someone nearby wearing a clown costume who had been watching everything that just happened. What the fuck? This felt like a bad omen, so she got out of there as quickly as possible.
When Silver reached the elementary school, she saw other people who were picking up their kids or younger siblings go inside. She followed them and saw that literally everyone from her school was there. What in the world were they all doing there? Even K was there, why didn’t she tell her that she was going to pick up her brother instead?
“K!” Silver called out, running over to her, “Why didn’t you tell me you were picking up L?” The bus must have driven everyone to the elementary school, but why? There were so many things happening that Silver just didn’t understand.
“Oh, I forgot, sorry.” K replied. Right, of course. Whatever. As they looked for L in the huge crowd of people, Silver saw the two guys that tried to kidnap her walk into the school. Okay, now this was getting ridiculous.
“K, we need to find L and get out of here, those guys tried to kidnap me earlier.” Silver said, pointing at the men. K looked at them and merely shrugged.
“Eh, okay.” she said, clearly uninterested. Well, that was kind of rude. Why was she being such an asshole today? She and Silver eventually found L and were about to leave, but then someone announced that everyone should do the Sachiko Ever After charm from Corpse Party. Because that would definitely be a good idea, totally.
As expected, with hundreds of people crowded in one spot, the charm failed miserably. Everyone thought nothing would happen because it was from a video game and it wasn’t real, but something did happen. An earthquake suddenly shook the school and everyone blacked out.
…
When Silver awoke, she found herself in what looked to be an abandoned classroom. It looked exactly like the classrooms from Corpse Party.
‘Oh god, I’m going to die here, aren’t I?’ she internally asked herself. She wondered where her friends ended up, so she decided to look for them. She stepped out of the classroom and into the hallway, noticing that there was a completely inaccessible section of it due to a giant hole in the floorboards. She heard footsteps and voices from that area, so she hid behind a corner of the hallway and watched two rather familiar people come into view. She realized they had to be Ayumi and Yoshiki, they looked exactly like them. She couldn’t really make out everything they were saying, but there was one specific thing she heard Ayumi say.
“I want to kill Naomi.”
What.
There were several things wrong with that. First of all, she said it in English. Either she actually said it in English or Silver could suddenly understand Japanese as if it was English in her brain. Second of all, she never called Naomi by her first name. Third of all, she was with Yoshiki and he was supposed to be able to snap her out of the darkening or whatever. Speaking of Yoshiki, he didn’t respond to what she said as Silver watched them walk into a classroom.
Meanwhile, Satoshi somehow managed to break his leg while he was with Naomi. It also somehow managed to magically heal itself. Silver didn’t see any of this happen, by the way. Moving on.
At this point, Silver thought she must’ve been in some weird bizarro version of the Corpse Party universe. If things weren’t weird enough, while she was exploring Heavenly Host’s hallways, she walked into a random classroom and saw Naomi and Satoshi sitting on the floor. The former was force-feeding the latter peas. What the fuck.
Somewhat disturbed, she wasn’t really sure how to react and chose to just secretly watch like a weirdo. Naomi and Satoshi eventually stopped doing whatever the hell that was and left the room, with Silver following quietly behind them. They all walked into another room when suddenly a giant tiger missile was launched at them and it exploded, killing everyone and causing peas to go flying everywhere.
…
Wrong END
…
Silver woke up in the classroom she originally found herself in and was surprised she was alive after what just happened. She remembered everything and was determined to make sure things went differently. She ran to the room she found Naomi and Satoshi in and saw them being weird with peas again.
“Guys, stop!” she said, going over to them, “Don’t force-feed him peas, we’ll all die.” They looked at her, surprised, and for a second she thought they didn’t understand her.
“Oh, okay.” Naomi replied without needing more convincing. She definitely said that in English, Silver wasn’t tripping. In this version of the Corpse Party universe the characters spoke and understood it, alright, cool. Silver introduced herself to Naomi and Satoshi, them doing the same to her, and they left the room to try and find a way out as well as everyone they came with. Then random food appeared around them which was not the strangest thing that happened to any of them that day, oddly enough. They didn’t trust it, though, and didn’t eat any of it.
Soon after exiting the room, the three of them saw Ayumi and Yoshiki walking nearby, not separated by a gap in the floor this time, and tried getting their attention. They didn’t hear them at first, so they tried again.
“Oh, hi guys,” Ayumi said, she and Yoshiki walking over to the group after noticing them, “who’s this?” Silver introduced herself and they all continued walking through the cursed school. They went into a previously unexplored room and randomly found a Wii U on the ground connected to a TV with some games around it.
“Woah, what?” Silver marveled, “What the heck is a Wii U doing here?” She started fiddling with it and checking what games it had. Meanwhile, everyone else just looked really confused.
“Um, what’s a Wii U?” Yoshiki asked, crouching down to examine it as well, “Don’t you mean a Wii?” This was when Silver remembered what year Corpse Party took place in, 2008. The Wii U didn’t release until 2012. That didn’t explain why an actual Wii U, not a Wii, was literally sitting right in front of everyone, though.
“No, this is definitely a Wii U, you won’t see it until a few years from now.” Silver said, “I know this because I’m from 2016.” She didn’t even know what was going on anymore. Actually, she stopped knowing what was going on anymore a while ago. No one knew how to wrap their brains around any of this information, so they just didn’t question it and made the dumb decision to play some of the games available to them. They stopped giving a shit when they entered the room with a fucking Wii U in it, anyway.
While playing Splatoon, a game that didn’t come out until 2015, Silver mentioned something random.
“I hope you guys don’t find this offensive, but some of the commercials in Japan are really strange.” she said. The Splatoon match they were playing ended and they decided to play a different game.
“Haha, yeah, some of them are a little weird.” Satoshi agreed while putting another game into the Wii U, “Some of the commercials in America are weird too, though.” Silver couldn’t argue with that. Out of nowhere, everyone teleported to Silver’s house. Yes, in 2016.
“What the?” she asked, “How did we just… end up in my house?” All the odd things happening were slowly turning her brain to mush, if she was being honest.
“Damn, the Wii U didn’t come with us.” Yoshiki added disappointedly, “So.. what now?” Everyone just stood there awkwardly after that.
“Do you guys have Snapchat or Tumblr?” Silver asked “I don’t use either, but like, I don’t know.” Yep, she’d lost it.
“I’ve never heard of Snapchat,” Naomi replied, “it must be one of those things that was made in the future or something.” She was right, Snapchat was released in 2011.
“I should make a horror-related Tumblr blog…” Ayumi muttered to herself.
And then everyone kind of just ignored the fact that all their friends were most likely still stuck in Heavenly Host and that they probably all died.
The end.
