Work Text:
Stumbling backwards into the house, Mikey shushes Pete with a finger to his lips.
"I thought you said your mom was gone," Pete whispers from behind Mikey's finger.
"She is, but Gee is here."
Pete rolls his eyes. It's a lot harder for him to sneak around than it is for Mikey. Mikey thinks it's exciting and fun while Pete wishes he could scream Mikey's name from rooftops. He hates not being able to tell his friends about his new relationship-- not being able to meet Mikey's family as his boyfriend, not being able to kiss his cheek or fix his hair in public. Pete wants more than anything for Mikey to be happy and comfortable, so he keeps his secret. That's not to say he doesn't get a little impatient sometimes.
"I haven't seen you in so long, Mikes," Pete whines.
"You see me every day in bio."
"Not like this." Pete smiles as he slides his cold hands up Mikey's untucked shirt, making him jump.
"At least let me get in the house first," Mikey laughs, finally closing the door behind Pete as he’s pressing kisses to Mikey's neck. Now in the hall, they can hear the loud movie Gerard is watching upstairs. Something seemingly pornographic. Mikey scrunched his nose.
Pete shoved Mikey back with a kiss, walking him backwards until they hit the couch. He lifted Mikey by his thighs and sat him on the arm of the couch.
"Are you sure this is okay?" Pete asked with a glance down the hall, worried about Gerard finding them.
"Just kiss me," Mikey scolded. Pete didn't waste a second more before reconnecting their lips, sliding one hand up the back of Mikey's shirt to keep him from falling and tangling the other in his hair to pull it the way he knows Mikey likes.
Mikey groaned into Pete's mouth, giving Pete just enough room to stick his tongue in and lick the back of Mikey's teeth. The perversion-- the haste and hurriedness of it all-- drove Mikey insane. The more desperate Pete got, the hotter Mikey found him. Every tug at Mikey's belt, every shove against closed doors or storage closet walls, every pleading look from across a classroom.
Slowly, Mikey unraveled. In the back of his mind, he knew that he should be extra careful since Gerard is right upstairs, but his pants were growing too tight and Pete's tongue in his mouth was distracting him too much for him to care.
"Pete," Mikey said his name into Pete's mouth like a prayer. "I need you. Please." He snaked hands up to pull off Pete's tie he undid on the way home. It dropped to the floor with a quiet swish, almost completely masked by the boys' heavy breathing. Mikey moved to unbutton Pete's shirt next from the top down.
Pete's grin reached his ears as he disconnected them to help Mikey with the bottom buttons. Mikey stayed perfectly still while Pete guided his fingers. He stared wide eyed at Pete's chest, watching in awe as more and more of him was revealed.
"Go on," Pete said softly.
At his encouragement, Mikey reached his hands into Pete's open shirt and closed them around either side of his waist. His eyes flitted from Pete's face to his chest, his stomach, and his jeans. Pete's skin was warm, his hips pronounced to allow perfect handles. His V-line peaked out above his studded belt that hung low, almost on his thighs. A line of thick, dark, curly hair ran its way from his belly button down into his jeans. The implication made Mikey's head swim.
"You okay?" Pete asked, cupping Mikey's face in his hands. It took everything in Mikey not to drop to his knees right there. He tried to respond, but his brain wasn't stringing words together coherently. He decided to nod, hoping Pete would understand how truly enthusiastic he was.
Pete's smile returned. He moved his hand to the back of Mikey's neck to pull him into a kiss, slower and calmer than the ones before it. Somehow, the tenderness of it all-- the way Pete was careful not to bite his lips-- only made Mikey's jeans tighter and his brain fuzzier.
"Pete," He begged. When Pete ignored him, Mikey dug his nails into his hips, pulling him closer and grinding up against him.
Pete groaned and yanked Mikey's hair reactively. Mikey moaned, both in surprise and contentment.
Pete pushed Mikey's jacket off his shoulders, quickly joining Pete's tie on the floor.
Without breaking the kiss, Pete lifted Mikey by the thighs. He yelped in surprise, though muffled by Pete's tongue in his mouth. Pete laid him down on the couch, wrapping Mikey's legs around his hips. He moved his hands up his chest and across his nipples through his shirt. Mikey shuddered, biting Pete's lip instinctively. The warm taste of iron accompanied them soon after.
He was a whining mess, groaning loudly when Pete moved their hips together. Pete shushed him, moving to press kisses down his neck. Mikey tangled a hand in Pete's hair, back arching off the couch when he bit down on Mikey's shoulder.
Pete's head was buried in Mikey's neck when his voice sent vibrations down his spine.
"Oh my god," Mikey gasped.
"Yeah, you like that?"
"No! Pete, oh my god!" Mikey shoved Pete off of him and into the floor beside the couch.
Pete sat up and furrowed his brows at Mikey who looked like he'd seen a ghost. Before he could ask if he did something wrong, he heard a voice from the hallway.
"Mikey?" Gerard asked. His hair was messy, and he was wearing a band shirt Mikey'd never seen before-- "Pencey Prep."
"Hey, Gee," Mikey winced. Pete was frantically buttoning his shirt.
"Can I talk to you upstairs?"
Mikey looked at Pete, eyes wide and fingers digging into his palm. Pete knitted his eyebrows together sympathetically and mouthed 'sorry.'
Mikey stood from the couch and helped Pete off the floor as Gerard turned to start up the stairs. He helped Pete finish buttoning his shirt and nervously kissed his cheek.
"I'll be back," He whispered before running to catch Gerard.
He met him halfway up and straightened his tie after trying to smooth wrinkles out of his shirt. At the top step, Gerard turned to him and fixed the back of his hair wordlessly.
"Thanks," Mikey whispered, but he figured Gee didn't hear it because he pushed the door open anyway.
Mikey was surprised to see a boy sitting on the edge of Gerard's bed thumbing through an old magazine. His face lit up when he saw Gee. His smile faltered a bit when he saw Mikey, but he quickly connected the dots.
"You must be Mikey! That's so weird you guys have, like, the same face."
"Frank, can we have a minute?" Gerard shifted on his feet.
Frank looked between the two. "...Okay." He stood up, set the magazine down on Gee's cluttered side table, and fleetingly squeezed Gerard's shoulder as he passed.
Gerard led Mikey to the bed and sat down in his desk chair across from him.
"So, who was that?" Mikey asked.
"Who was the shirtless guy downstairs?" Gerard challenged.
"He wasn't shirtless yet." Mikey rolled his eyes.
Gerard leaned back and crossed his arms, and Mikey knew he had him figured out.
"You remember that girl I told you about? From bio?"
Gerard nodded apprehensively.
"Not a girl," Mikey laughed, barely above a whisper. He was suddenly very interested in his thumbs in his lap.
"What's his name?"
"Pete," Mikey fought a smile.
"Is he nice to you?"
"He's weird, but he's nice." Mikey's urges won and a grin split his face. He was too embarrassed to make eye contact, but he could feel Gerard's gaze on him.
"Good." Gee smiled back at him. Mikey's nerves were temporarily replaced with the weird feeling he gets when he thinks about Pete too much. He wondered what he was doing downstairs which led him back to the guy Gerard was with.
"So who's your new friend?" Mikey asked.
Gerard shyly smiled. A red blush worked its way up his neck. Mikey didn't suspect anything at first, but he'd only seen Gerard like this once before-- with his old high school crush.
"Are you serious?" Mikey's eyebrow cocked. Gerard held back a laugh.
"It's not like that," He giggled. Everything started to make sense in Mikey's head. Why Gee had been home for the weekend and the 'movie' he'd heard.
"Ew! Gee, oh my god. Do you think this is funny?" Mikey scolded him as Gerard keeled over snorting.
"You were making out with some guy downstairs like 10 minutes ago!"
"He's not some guy." Mikey crossed his arms.
"You loooooove him!"
Mikey argued, but he knew it was no use. Gerard has always been stubborn.
After he calmed down from his laughing fit, Gerard stood up and urged Mikey to do the same to pull him into a crushing hug.
"I love you, man," Gee said into Mikey's neck, only a little bitter that Mikey was taller than him now. He had to admit that it was nice have someone he knew was always going to be there for him. Remembering the things that used to annoy him like Mikey crawling into bed with him when it stormed made him realize how much he'd missed him since he'd been at school. Just having him close.
"I love you too, loser." Mikey smiled. "Maybe you should come home more often," He muttered into Gerard's hair.
"I was just thinking the same thing."
Mikey pulled away, keeping his arms loosely around Gee's back. "Soooo, about the guy."
"Oh, yeah. I guess I should introduce you."
"Yeah, I can't believe Pete got to meet him before I did."
Downstairs, Pete and Frank are sitting in less-than-comfortable silence. Pete is bouncing his knee anxiously waiting for Mikey. He didn't know how Gerard would react, but judging by the look Mikey gave when he walked down the hall, it wouldn't be good.
"So, how do you know Mikey?" Frank asks, making eye contact for the first time.
Pete is startled out of his snowballing thoughts. "Uh- bio. We have bio together. At school." He clears his throat.
"You know, your lip is bleeding."
Pete's hand flies to his lip, pressing two fingers to the side of his mouth and bringing them out in front of his face. "I guess so."
Frank raised his eyebrows at him and nodded slowly, making an exaggerated agreeing noise.
"Why? How do you know Gerard?" Pete shot back. Frank smiled and breathed a laugh out of his nose.
Gerard and Mikey paddled down the stairs, Mikey being the first to emerge from behind the wall. Pete stood when he saw him-- trying to read his face, but the hall was dark, and he was far away. Luckily, Mikey gave him two excited thumbs-ups. Pete sighed a breath he didn't know he was holding and ran to hug him, passing Gerard on his way to get Frank from the couch.
Pete scooped Mikey into a celebratory hug and grabbed his shirt to pull him in for a kiss before Mikey stopped him with a heavy hand to his chest.
"Too soon?"
Mikey made a pinching motion with his finger and thumb.
"Wanna get ice cream?" Pete asked, pulling Mikey's car keys off the hook next to the door. Mikey nodded, looking past Pete into the living room to make sure it was okay with Gerard.
Gee was sitting on the couch with Frank, affectionately pushing hair out of his face. Mikey cleared his throat. Both boys turned their attention to him, Gee's hand still in Frank's hair.
"We're gonna get ice cream," Mikey said slowly. "Do you want me to hang a sock on the doorknob or..."
"God, Mikey. Just call me when you're on your way back, okay?" Gerard punched Frank in the shoulder for laughing.
Mikey agreed as they headed out the door, beginning to tell Pete the big coming out story and sharing conspiracies about Frank.
