   Summary

   He could feel the burning heat of the intensity, the sincerity in Tommy’s gaze as he looked towards him, wavering for just a moment before he spoke. “I miss you, Määnin.”

   He could hear the poorly concealed pining. The aching want in Tommy’s voice. Revealed in glaring clarity by the way his voice tilted upwards; needy, towards the end of the word ‘miss’; by the way his voice turned breathy, as he said Määnin’s name. Or maybe Määnin was just projecting. He couldn’t be sure.

   Määnin felt his jaw clench, molars grinding together. He felt the way his stomach pitched sideways. This really wasn’t fair. Tommy couldn’t just say things like that out of the blue.

    

   Määnin does his best to move on. Tommy can’t seem to keep himself away.
