Work Text:
Techno stares at his hands as he fidgets. He’s alone in his room, sat at the edge of his bed and trying to keep his eyes off the doorway.
He knows how this all ends.
He knows how Wilbur wants it to end.
He doesn’t know if that’s how he wants it to end.
He wants most of it, obviously, taking down the government, killing a dictator, all that fun stuff. He even wants to see it all explode into chaos, even if Wilbur claims that’s Plan B.
And Wilbur can lie all he wants to the others but Techno knows what he really wants.
He wants to be dead.
And he wants L’Manberg gone with him.
It’s really a win-win for the two of them, Techno gets anarchy and Wilbur gets a dramatic finale.
It’s a perfect plan.
This is what he wants, Techno keeps telling himself, it’s not about what I want.
He wants his something-like-a-brother to be happy, to no longer have to watch as he plays with his life like it’s worthless. Running around without armour, refusing to eat, sitting a little too close to the campfire while Techno makes them stew for the “millionth time.”
And maybe this will let him be happy. Maybe he’ll hurt less with Lady Death than here with them.
He seems to believe so.
So he keeps his mouth closed about how close the TNT is placed to the detonator. How whoever was stood in that room as they hit the button would mostly likely go down with the country if they didn’t run.
Because he knows Wilbur isn’t running.
And if he can’t stop him he can at least help him.
