Summary
This story takes place before the events of the first movie.
Berk never stood a chance. An unexpected army swept through the village, leaving it in ruins and its people in chains. At their head stood Viggo Grimborn ruthless, sadistic, and far too clever.
But conquest isn’t all he’s after. When his eyes fall on Stoick’s scrawny son, Viggo sees something the rest of Berk has wasted: a trembling, intelligent boy marked by scars of neglect. To Viggo, Hiccup is not a weakling to mock, but a prize to claim.
