Happily ever after? Perhaps later?
They were all bred and born for the war, the clones were. These soldiers without a thought of their very own to be seen or heard of.
Alas, how wrong had those creators of theirs been while thinking these, the very clones, these living beings, would not develop individuality! Those precious minds of their very own!
As these warriors were nothing if not adaptive to the galaxy around. No matter donning the sane face and body, they all quickly started adapting. And soon enough, each of them becoming an individual of their very own.
But with that individuality also came other things. Such as feelings and emotions and yes, dreams as well. Dreams of the future, a life after the war had ended. A life of freedom, to do as they pleased.
Alas, being a soldier in a war came with its inherit grief. It usually did.
Like being wounded or worse, losing one’s life at the prime of one’s… well, very life.
Death, most certainly putting a permanent end to any kind of hopes and dreams of any kind of life in the after.
Thankfully there were those whom did survive, while trying not to hold onto those brothers lost. The ones only keeping on going with the hopes, that maybe, just maybe some day, a reward would be waiting at the very end of it all.
Freedom. The one of being able to be and do whatever there hearts desired.
Living the rest of their lives as they saw fit.
And so, the dreams dared to be dreamed. As perhaps coming true for them all. And mostly those feelings long since hidden, those ones of happiness having been told by some souls, would and could actually be, retainable .
At least for those, daring to dream. To hold on to that very fantasy for oh so very, very long. Those desires each passing tick of time growing ever so strong.
And so for these clones, those daring to hope, it would all maybe, some day come true.
Despite the future, looking gloomy and unsure.
