You stopped talking again, suddenly feeling very self conscious while noticing how he was only standing there, gazing at you. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to ramble."
"No, don't apologize love, I enjoy listening to you." He looked down and leaned on the counter thinking for a moment. "How about a drink?"
"A drink?"
He looked back up at you. "Yeah, to talk. Y'know, maybe we can get to know each other a bit more." He sounded confused, as if he were unsure of his own words, hoping he hadn't said the wrong thing.

My writing has really, really improved and I think I'm just going to rewrite or abandon this one after I'm finished because this really is a mess and I planned nothing. I was literally making it up
