Work Text:
Crow did not really realise how bird-headed he was when he first met Kiryuu Kyousuke and Haruka. But, it did not even take long until he realised that he was taking Martha’s words about the difference between male and female too lightly.
“You see, we have reason for separating the rooms of girls and boys when they are entering their teenage years. When you are growing up, your curiosity about girls—especially the girl you like—often explodes, and it sometimes leads to something bad. By separating the rooms, we are making an effort to prevent it.”
Crow covered his eyes while sitting in front of the computer. He directed his head to the ceiling while leaning his back against the chair.
“Martha, I’m so sorry for making fun of what you said ….”
“What are you mumbling about?”
Crow gasped when he felt a hand pulling his hand, making his ash colored eyes see the dim light of his house. Then, right in front of his face, one of his roommates’ faces appeared, frowning in confusion.
“Haruka …! Oh, I mean, you finished changing?”
The girl sighed, then nodded a little.
“Time to sleep, you know? And don’t scream. The kids are exhausted.”
Crow looked at the bed behind his back, then sighed. Right, he forgot that he should not scream.
“So, what was it? You look weird for some minutes already.”
Crow glanced back at Haruka, then cleared his throat.
“Nothing …. But, I think you should wear thicker clothes. The night is chilly.”
Crow could feel his cheek flushed a little. Haruka sometimes wore her tank top to bed, and Crow usually was not bothered by it. However, recently, he began to feel strange seeing her show off her skin, especially at home. Then, the peak was today, when Haruka got back late and suddenly took off her clothes right in front of Crow’s eyes. Crow turned away his face from the sight right away though. While trying to calm his beating chest, Martha’s words about how a growing-up boy and girl should not sleep in the same room floated in his head.
How could Crow even forget those words when he first asked Haruka to just live with him instead of Kiryuu Kyousuke, their mad little team leader, some years ago?
“It’s okay. I don’t really get sick, and you know that.” Haruka said with a confident smile while letting go of Crow’s hand.
Haruka yawned and stretched her arms as if she were trying to reach the roof. Crow almost gasped when he saw the girl’s stomach in front of his eyes. Luckily, Haruka turned her body right away and directed her steps to where the sleeping carpets they use were spread.
“C’mere, Crow. You need sleep too. I can talk to you until you feel sleepy if you still feel fresh.”
Crow grumbled again before he gave up and turned off the light, then lay his body beside Haruka—since their house was too cramped for him to find another space to spread his sleeping carpet. Right after Crow lay beside her, Haruka covered their body with the thin brown sheet they always used together as their blanket.
“I think we should find another blanket tomorrow.”
Haruka blinked her eyes.
“Why? This one is still usable. Or do you find it chilly lately?”
“… Kind of ….”
Haruka giggled.
“You should just tell if you feel sick, okay? Funny to know you can get sick too though.”
Crow sighed.
“Hey, that’s rude, you know? But, yeah, I gotta tell you if that happens. Can't let you and the kids get the virus too.”
Haruka patted Crow’s back.
“Good boy. Now, get some sleep before you really get sick.”
Crow frowned in displeasure. A little while ago, he was troubled by getting too conscious of Haruka. Now, he felt a little annoyed knowing the girl did not even feel the same confusion as him, even just for a little.
“Hey.”
“What?”
Haruka was smiling, still lying while facing Crow. Even Crow was having trouble looking at her face this close lately, or feeling her warm breath on his skin. Did the girl seriously not feel the same?
Crow still said nothing, thinking about what to say—if he should talk to her about what he was contemplating or just brush it off.
Then, his grey eyes caught Haruka’s collarbone. He was staring for a little while before he felt embarrassed and turned his eyes to her face again. But then he caught something else stole his attention—his curiosity.
“… I lately wondered how it feels to kiss someone.”
Haruka’s golden eyes widen. She was speechless for a while, and Crow started to feel his chest beating louder than before.
“… You …,” Crow almost gulped, but he stayed still, waiting for Haruka to continue her words, “said the same thing as Kyousuke, you know …?”
Crow frowned right in that second.
“Kiryuu?”
Haruka nodded.
“We found a cheesy romance manga, and when we were making fun of it, Kyou said that. He wondered if a kiss even felt good.” Haruka was holding back her laugh. “He even told me to just do it once with him, and I laughed all the way until he got annoyed and choked me with his arm.”
The usual Crow should feel funny hearing the story and laugh it off, but not this time. Not when he actually has a hidden intention when bringing out the topic.
“… So, did you kiss him?”
“Well, duh, of course not! The topic was forgotten after I finished my laughter.”
It was where Crow should be relieved, but he could not.
It was not only him who got conscious of the girl, and he felt frustrated by the fact.
“But, well, do you even think it would feel good to kiss someone?” Haruka asked again, still with her funny smile while thinking about Kyousuke’s words.
“Dunno …. But it’s not hurt to just try, right?”
“Well, true though ….”
Haruka finally finished her silent laughter by taking a deep breath. Right at that moment, Crow put his hand on Haruka’s face and brought his body away from the sleeping carpet.
“Crow, wh—”
Crow did not think much when he was putting his lips on Haruka’s lips. His hand was moving to the back of her neck, pushing it a little, then he got his fingers between her pumpkin-colored strands to deepen the kiss. Haruka mostly froze in her place, but she then gasped right when she felt fingers on the back of her neck. Right at that time, as if it was instinct, Crow let his tongue out, infiltrating the girl’s mouth. His hand was pulling the blanket, covering their whole body with it, so nobody could see what he was doing to the girl. Crow was moving, got on top of the girl and pinned one of Haruka’s arms on the carpet.
“Hmmh …. Cr—hhh ….”
Haruka was closing her eyes tightly, but she did not resist even for a bit. Crow felt his lips were drawing a smirk, as if his body was telling him he did the right thing.
Growing up in Satellite was not always a good thing, but now he felt grateful to the slum’s street couples who would just do their business everywhere they could without caring about others' eyes. At least, they indirectly taught Crow how to kiss his girl properly.
Haruka’s mouth was warm. Her tongue was solid, but also soft. Crow felt aroused when his tongue felt her warm breath and her disorganised rhythm—Crow knew those were the signs Haruka also felt pleasured by the kiss.
Crow pulled away for a while. Right at that time, he was checking on Haruka’s face. It was dark, but the distance roughly told him what he wanted to know.
Haruka said nothing. She was trying hard to catch her stolen breath.
“… Well, now you can tell Kiryuu how a kiss feels, right?”
“… Hnngh …. What …?”
Crow felt super pleased knowing Haruka‘s mind was faded by the kiss. The excitement made Crow erase the distance once again. It was where Haruka should have come back to her right mind and pushed him off, but the girl did nothing and just let Crow do what he wanted. Crow also should have been concerned as the girl kept herself so defenceless without any resistance, but he, at the moment, did not have any room to be bothered by that.
It was his first time thinking something immoral about someone close to him, and also his first time pouring out his overflowing sexual desires. He was too busy feeling excited, discovering how soft and warm the tough girl who was always praised for being one of the best duelists in their area.
Crow finally let go when his instinct alarmed him, telling him there was no retreat if he kept doing as his desires wished. It was hard for him to catch his breath, but Haruka was also the same. The girl turned her face to the left and gulped on her saliva that was mixing with Crow‘s. Felt a little bad, Crow wiped off the saliva that spilt from the corner of Haruka’s mouth with his thumb.
“… I thought I was going to die ….”
Crow blinked in surprise.
… What did the girl just say?
Haruka‘s golden jewels were glancing a little from the corner of her eyes.
“What …? Don‘t tell me … you don’t even realise… humans would die if … if they don‘t breathe air … properly ….”
Haruka was trying hard to speak between her rough breathing, but Crow could tell that the girl was her usual self, trying to pull off a joke by making fun of him.
“I know, but …,” Crow frowned, “that‘s all …?”
“Ah ….” Haruka turned her face to Crow, widening her eyes as if she had just realised something. “I thought kissing was only putting two pairs of lips together.”
Here Crow was, holding back himself from not stopping the kiss, or whatever he could do in the moment, but Haruka somehow seemed way calmer than him; there must be something wrong with her head.
“I mean …,” Crow closed the distance again, looking at the girl‘s golden eyes while narrowing his ash-coloured eyes, “it feels good, right? I’m sure I was doing things right.”
Haruka blinked, then laughed for a second.
“Oh, that ….” She looked directly at Crow again. Her smile was widening. “Well, it does feel thrilling.”
Thrilling? Was that the girl‘s way of saying that it felt good?
Crow sighed once again, then let go of Haruka‘s arm. He lay back on his own carpet.
“But, hey, how about you? Seeing you suddenly stopping, you must be satisfied your curiosity, right?”
Crow almost grumbled, but he just turned his body to the other side so Haruka could not see his face.
“It felt kinda dangerous.”
“What do you mean by that?” Haruka sounded confused.
“… Nothing, I should apologise to Martha the next time I meet her.”
“What? Hey, Croow …?” Haruka poked Crow‘s back, but the man did not even budge even though he startled for a second. Then, Crow felt the blanket moving—Haruka moving. “Damn, don’t pretend to be asleep ….”
Haruka‘s breath wiped his ear, and Crow groaned.
“I‘m trying so hard to hold back, so don’t whisper right to my ear …!”
“Heey ….”
Dear Martha, Crow swore he would be a good boy for a while, so let him sleep peacefully that night, please …!
