"You know, I feel like I should have some long winded rant ready to use on you about the suicidalness of that whole plan of yours" Law sighed as Ace settled next to him.
Dressrosa was nothing but a dot on the horizon and soon he would be reunited with his crew on Zou. The crew on the Going Luffy had been fawning over getting to meet Luffy's brother but it seemed Ace had escaped the eccentric pirates. One glance back told Law he'd thrown Zoro to the wolves to do so which made him smirk.
"Either way, against my better judgement, I'm alive" Law replied as he relaxed further in his place leaning against the railing. A weight he'd been carrying for far too long was gone fron his shoulders and it seemed Ace could tell based on how he was gazing at him.
"What?" Law asked, fidgeting under the other pirates' attention.
"I guess we're 2 for 2 on suicidal idiots" Ace joked, moving his hand over the large scar that covered most of his upper torso.
"How will our crews ever cope?" Law chuckled lightly as he felt Ace lean against him.
The sun was just dipping into the horizon, the water alight with oranges and yellows like a flame. Law thought that while it was beautiful, there was no better flame than the one next to him.
"For what it's worth, I'm glad you're still alive" Ace mumbled, as he leaned even more heavily against Law, sleep dragging his consciousness away.
"Me too" Law sighed against the warmth the other naturally exuded, a contrast to his own eternally frigid skin.
"The sunset's beautiful" Ace mumbled.
"It sure is" Law wasn't looking at the sunset.
