Chapter Text
It was a warm, summer’s morning in upstate Ulster county New York. The sun was rising, bringing light to everything it touches. Nigel was asleep with his fiance, Isaac. He felt a bit off today. When he opened his eyes, everything around him was larger. Strange…
He then felt shaking and snoring, where he turned around to find its source, it was Isaac snoring as per usual-but he was larger this time. VERY much larger-like a huge giant! He decided to wake his snoring fiance, so he began his climb up Isaac, getting on top of his stomach. It was rumbling a bit more than usual-maybe because Isaac’s death day was near. He had a long climb and walk-but suddenly Isaac began to wake up, belching a bit.
“Excuse me.” Isaac chuckled a bit, “Good morning Ni-”
“Love, I’m down here.” Nigel tried to say to a frantic Isaac.
“Nigel! Where did you go! OH NO! He got su-” Isaac was panicking a lot in his tone.
“Isaac!” Nigel shouted to get his attention.
Isaac looked down on his tiny fiance on his stomach. Nigel was the literal size of an ant! Isaac scooped Nigel up into his hands and brought him to his eye level. Nigel grasped Isaac’s finger like a lifeline.
“You’re tiny!” Isaac told Nigel, shocked at the sight.
“I know!” Nigel replied back to Isaac, his voice sounding a bit more higher pitched than usual, “It’s strange! You’re like a giant!”
Isaac laughed, his laugh like a mini earthquake, causing Nigel to grasp and hold on to Isaac’s thumb tightly.
“Careful, love!” Nigel warned Isaac,l
“Sorry, sorry!” Isaac smiled, patting Nigel’s head once with his giant finger, “you’re so cute like this!”
Isaac then let out a soft belch.
“Tis’ the season!” Isaac joked, patting his stomach with his other hand, “Death day’s coming soon. Ugh. I can feel the gurgles and flutters getting worse.”
Nigel gave his giant fiancé’s hand a tiny pat of reassurance.
“There there, love.” Nigel smiled reassuringly, “We have bigger problems.”
“Oh yeah!” Isaac began, confused, “How did you shrink to this size?”
“Well,” Nigel began explaining, “I kissed you goodnight while you were snoring and asleep, then I went to go watch the ants to help me sleep, then I came back here to go to sleep, then I woke up and boom!”
“Maybe the ants have something to do with it?” Isaac asked curiously, trying to find a cause for his fiancé’s size change, “Maybe we should go tell Samantha?”
“Yes,” Nigel began, beginning his long climb onto Isaac’s shoulder, with Isaac plucking him off and bringing him up to his shoulder.
“Hold on tight, sweetie!” Isaac yelled at Nigel, beginning his walk to the kitchen. Nigel’s grasping his giant fiancé’s coat collar tight. Isaac walked-but it felt like booming and stomping to a tiny Nigel. Isaac walked to the kitchen to go and tell Samantha about their new predicament. How interesting and hard to explain would it be? That magically your fiancé shrunk to the size of an ant? Isaac felt a rumble in his stomach, and heard one right next to his ear. His stomach usually rumbled around mealtimes near his death day-he never understood why, but it happened to all the ghosts near their death days and after their regular smegular ghosts again. During these periods of time, they were able to eat, and Isaac was feeling a bit hungry. Nigel chuckled, patting Isaac’s shoulder.
“Bit peckish?” Nigel asked Isaac jokingly.
“Yes,” Isaac answered his fiancé smiling, “more starved than usual today.”
“Tis’ the season,” Nigel joked, “I feel a bit peckish today too.”
“Strange.” Wondered Isaac, continuing his walk.
“Yes, but we can eat together!” Nigel suggested, smiling.
“Don’t worry, we’ll feed you a crumb!” Isaac joked, his laugh almost shaking Nigel off.
“Perfect!” Nigel laughed.
Isaac let out a soft belch.
“Death day season gas.” Isaac chuckled embarrassedly.
“It’s fine, love.” Nigel comforted his fiancé.
They made it to the kitchen. Explaining their situation is going to be a bit difficult…or will it!
